Booked apartment with Hotelopia on the net cost us £120 for the week ! and it was first week of the easter holidays, so a bargain price!
apartments are lovely and clean, modern in style but a bit worn in places-but nothing bad!! towels and bedding changed midway through the week, and cleaned about 4 of the days we were there.
Pool and poolbar nice, good food and friedly English staff making and serving the food.but does close early about 5pm.
There were a few Spanish groups staying at the apartments when we were there we did find them noisy and quite rude really.
But on the whole a nice little complex at a great price. about a 10 min walk to the shopping complex and large but not that nice beach, the sea was way out.
Matagorda we found was really boring !! just one little shopping complex with restaraunts and bars in,Puerto Del Carmen was busier but not friendly atall.Indian upstairs in the Matagorda shopping complex(steves balti house) was nice food, chinese was not nice, the one that says its been there 12 years! god knows how, it was bland and tasteless.
the spar shop there is ok prices, 200 cigs 19 euros and good priced beer and wine to take back to your apartment.
The beaches were ok but nothing to get excited about.
The best place on the island was Playa Blanca, lovely bay with crystal clear water, and a sandy/shigley beach and a good range of bars and shops without it spoiling the peace, we liked it here.
Because we hired a car £77 for the week from Avis on the net we booked it about a month before we came, anyway we got to see alot of the resorts.
Timafaya national Park (Volcano) is a must, a lovely day out and only 8 euros each to get in ! If you book through the rep it is about 40 euros each.
Lanzarote is easy to drive on, the roads are good and good signs on the main roads.
Costa Teguise was nice too but far too windy for us.
If we went back we would go to Playa Blanca, but to be honest we have been too much nicer places(greece we love) and we did find Lanzarote for eating and drinking very expensive compared to greece.
But it was a nice winter break and some good sunshine, we paid a good price too go there so we cant complain really.
Happy holidays !!

Just returned from Playa pocillos apartments . Had a fantastic holiday .
Before we travelled , we were abit unsure about apartments as only 2* .On arriving we were very suprised by the high standards and friendliness of staff .
The apartments were spotless there was always someone cleaning somewhere .
We had a 2 bedroom apt , but the 1 bed has the same facilities except the seperate room .
They all have tv , kettle , toaster , Fans avail to hire ( You pay about 10 euros a week for these but they are definately worth it !!)
Maid was in cleaning nearly every day and changing towels etc .
Pool area lovely , Big pool and then fantastic baby pool My 3 year old had a ball in this all holiday .
Plenty of sun loungers , no need to be up at 8.00 to get the towels on them !!
There was also a tennis court and pool table and a fantastic snack bar serving food all day .
We spent alot of time eating in their as it so cheap and great value eg full breakfast 3 euros (about £2.00)
The apartments are not that far from the beach and the main commercial centre about a ten min walk . And there was a supermarket about 2 min walk down the road.
We really enjoyed Matagorda as it was laid back and quiet with only 2 main areas with bars and restuarants and shops . in all about 20 restaurants and 10 bars and 2 amusement arcades . This was enough.
If you did want a bit more choice of bars etc about a 45 min /1 hour walk along the front will take you to livier puerto del carmen . We went into this area about 3 times in the whole 2 weeks we were there usually getting taxi back costing only 4 euros .
I would reccommend this area and apartments to anyone looking for a nice clean resort with a laid back atmosphere.
Definately not for the young and lively looking for discos ( you will spend a fortune on taxis back and forward every day )
Its great for familes and also good for elderly and wheelchair users as the front promenade is all pedistrianised and there is no cars allowed it is also very flat .
If you walk about about 5 mins along the front you can walk to the start of the runway at the airport and the planes are really close . My son loved this .
Also dont miss the Aqua park at costa teguise (great day out) and Rancho texas Park in puerto del carmen .They are all great for kids !!!!
All in all great holiday and will definately be going back to these apartments next year .
You will not be dissapointed .

Just returned from a week in Matagorda at the Playa Pocillos apartments, we booked a last minute non-package 3 days before we departed and the only info we had was the fact that it was only 2* accommidation so didn't really know what to expect. Our taxi dropped us off shortly after 9pm and the reception area was in darkness with the girl just leaving! anyway she quickly checked our paperwork and told us which room we were in and the key was under the mat, when we opened the sliding door we couldn't believe how nice the room was- it was plenty big enough with lounge/dining area/kitchen with all little nice touches such as a washing up kit which we don't expect.
Most of the apartments overlook the lovely pool area and there is a bar run by some scottish ladies serving breakfasts, burgers, drinks etc all very nice so all in all we were more than happy with our accommidation. If I were looking for a down side it would only be the fact that it wasn't a 24 hour reception.
The resort of Matagorda is very family orientated and this shows in the main square with a big amusement arcade in the centre surrounded by all manner of bars and restaurants with plenty of choice, our pick of the restaurants here was the chinese in the middle of the square (I think it was called ";Fui Gui";) This place served huge portions and offered either a free bottle of house wine or 10% off the bill we opted for the wine and had a great meal plus another drink each for just under 20 euro's- BARGAIN!!!
Our pick of the bars in the square was ";THE VEGAS SHOWBAR"; we ventured in there at the start of our week and were made to feel so welcome by the lovely genuine hosts Wally and Liz with the mixture of live entertainment until 12 then the karaoke started it was a brilliant place to go and I STRONGLY reccommend you pop in and say hello- I guarantee you'll go back for more!!! We ended up in there for at least a nightcap every night.
We regularly walked into Puerto Del Carmen for food as there is so much more choice there and didn't have one bad meal so I couldn't possibly recommend individual ones. The walk took us about 45 minutes to the new town and 1 hour to the old town, it is a lovely walk along the sea front but for the less mobile (or slightly intoxicated!!!) a taxi will cost you around 5 Euro's.
So there you go, we had a great holiday in Lanzarote, hope you do too and that this review has helped you.
