Have read many reviews on different sites about The Beatriz and admit to being very nervous upon arrival. However everyone that was negative about this hotel was in my opinion either an accomplished liar or a miserable so and so. This hotel was bloody fantastic. My wife and I and two kids aged 10 and 11 had possibly the best Canary Island holiday we have had in 7 years. The food was varied and tasty and always hot. I almost went outside to verify i was at the right hotel. The staff were brilliant. Always a friendly greeting and pleased to help correct my awful attempt at speaking Spanish and never once were we overlooked in the queue for food or drink. The room was spotless and kept that way every day by the maid. Will i go back? You bet your a** I will! just as soon as i can get the cash together. Now having said all that....DONT take my word for it. Go yourself and make of your holiday what you can. we did and we Loved It!!

Ok the hotel was great!! but the resort? sorry too quiet. The beach was rocky just below the water line, not good for kids. Although the rock pools were interesting. And i'm afraid more signs warning about nudists would be good. My two children had giggly f...

Just returned from a week stay here and can honestly say that the hotel was definately worthy of its 4 star rating. I was a little wary of going all inclusive from previous other all inclusive hotels they have not been too great. We needn't have worried. The food in the main restaurant was varied and you can also use the pizzeria when all inclusive which was great, freshly cooked pizzas, pastas etc. The entertainment was of the norm, nothing special but enough going on in the day and shows in the evening. Would return to this hotel without any doubt.

Matagorda itself is a very quiet resort. There are a few bars and restaurants but if travelling with children there is nothing for them ! But all in all a great place if you want a relaxing holiday that is not too busy.

Arrived at hotel at 22-30 hrs and was shown to room, all appeared ok spacious and clean, unpacked and went on routine inspection, as you do.whilst on walkabout couldnt help but notice the stained carpets, the holes in ceilings,Builders scaffolding etc.Passing the piano bar on our way to the restaurant came accross a conga line which in fact turned out to be the queue to the bar, no drink here then. arrived at the restaurant, not the ideal first impression, paper towels strewn around the dining area, tables left uncleared, we found this to be quite off putting, but after the journey we were hungry and thought anything rather than nothing. Approached the maitre de only to be asked which sitting would we like 1st or 2nd, could it get any worse, the food soon answered that "of course it could" asked for a bottle of house red, what did we get, a jug of red liquid produced from behind a screen, did try some food( pasta} this was cold and dry, left the restaurant at this time. Headed back to our room only to find the disco was in full swing, and yes our room was right above. went to request a room change only to be told " not possible" maybe tommorrow. Following day requested hotel change with our holiday company in the UK, after some set backs we finally settled in an old favourite of ours the Jameos Playa at a further cost to us of over £500, but believe me we would have paid double. To sum up, we have stayed at a great deal of the 4 star hotels on the island and this in our humble opinion is not one of them, The room seemed ok, the service and cleanliness however left a lot to be desired, i am not even going to mention the school dinners type service in the restaurant.we are two working class people that firmly believe you should get what you pay for; ie. if you pay for 4 star you should get 4 star, in the Beatriz Playa this was not the case. I do hope that we have given you some insight to this hotel, we too have learnt by this " dont believe everything you read" this is the first bad review i have ever posted on this site concerning Lanzarote and i do hope it will be the last. Happy holidaying you Lanza fans

the beatrice playa is a good hotel the staff are friendly and helpful, the food is good and varied. This hotel is suitable for young famerlies and older couples. The only problems are aircraft noise which you get used to and the sound from the nigthtly entertainment but this stops at 12 oclock at night. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool if you want a hotel pool towel you pay a deposit at reception ( refundable ) and you recive a card so you can get the towel at the pool.

Outside the hotel their is a new path and cycleway which runs for about four miles along the coast either way outside the hotel. If you go for a drink in the shoping centra next to the hotel it is expensive go further along the strip it is cheaper. The bus also is cheap they go from puerto del carmen to the capital with many stops in between.

This is our second visit to this hotel and we will be going back in the near furture .

Just arrived back from the Beatriz Playa, my friend and I had a good time. The hotel was spotlessly clean, our room was on the ground floor,it would have fitted four people in so we had plenty of space. The food was excellent with plenty of choices both in the morning and evening. It was good that you were allocated a table for evening meals so there was no pushing in by other guests. The planes never bothered us even when we were sunbathing and it did feel as though you could reach out and touch them.We didn't stay in at night, we went into commercial centre 100meters away as there were a few good bars there, some with artists and some with kareoke. We went into Portal Del Carmen in the day 1euro on the bus from Sol Lanzarote Hotel. We visited the Timafaya National Park which was enjoyable. There was always a wind but the sun was nice and hot.

There were two things that we were annoyed with, one was that they run out of clean towels and there wasn't a curtesy room available for people with late departures. They sent us down to the showers in the gym, anybody could have come in, no privacy.

But all in all we had a good holiday.Taxi from the airport approx.8euros.
