These apartments are great value for money. This is the second time I've been and both times the apartments were spotless and are quite spacious, they have very large balconies too.

If you dont want to be in the centre of Puerto del carmen then these are great plus the beaches in Matagorda are much nicer and the promenade goes for miles - great for walking and cycling!

There are a few bars and resturaunts 5 mins away aswell as a Spar down beside the beach which good for during the day. The taxi rank is right outside the apartments so you can jump in a taxi into Puerto del carmen at night for around 3 euros and there are some fab resturaunts there and some lovely ones in the old town too which is about 4/5 euro in a taxi. Lanzarote is a great island for family's, couples of any age but maybe not for singles looking for a wild holiday. There are good bars too - one we liked was called Mulligans (a kind of Irish bar) not far from the McDonalds and you go downstairs to get in, there is table service for drinks they have live music from some fantastic singers my favourite was a guy who sang some U2 songs and was fab!

As for the apartments again the only thing I was a bit bothered with was the reception staff. They were helpfull but they seem to favour the spanish and german guests more than the british, and there is more international guests I would say. When we checked in the Man at reception who I think was German constantly stopped serving us when other guests appeared which I thought was quite rude, and on another occasion a different member of staff kept us waiting 5-10 mins while he was on the phone and never gave so much as an apology. But dont let this put you off because you hardly need to deal with them and they are helpful once you actually get served.

The apartments are great and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them or go again.

The Morromar apartments are a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a value for money break.

They are spotlessly clean, have friendly, helpful staff and lovely pool areas. They are 5 minutes walk from beach also. There are a few bars and restaurants in Matagorda and even more a few minutes walk round in Playa de Los Pocillos which is more than enough if you are looking for a quiet break. If you wish a larger selection of bars and restaurants then it is around 4 euro to Puerto Del Carmen, just a couple of minutes in a taxi and there are plenty of choices for bars and restaurants. We particularly liked the restaurant choices as there are far better than the usual standard of a holiday resort.

If you are looking for apartments that are right on the beach though, you should try the Lanzarote Sol which is on the beachfront and is also very nice.

When i stayed in the morromar appartments, it had just under gone refurbishment which was very nice. There are 2 swimming pools in the complex with loads of sun loungers. There was entertainment organised in the complex which included shows and karioke.
But also there are many other pubs and bars just down the road which are all open untill early in the morning. You can also go to Purto del carmen for a great night which is only a 3 euro taxi journey.
The taxi rank is right outside the appartment.

The holiday reps organise good days like the volcano trip, costa teguise market and many more...... It is cheaper to get a taxi and go yourself dont buy days out with the reps.
There is a local supermarket and gift shops just down hill from the appartments.

I would like to go back to lanzarote and i would definatly stay in Marromar apartments again.

Have just returned from a week at the Morromar apartments with friends and family and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The Morromar has recently undergone major refurbishment and is now looking fantastic. Apartments, Reception area, Pools, and grounds are spotless. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Complex was very quiet which was a great bonus for us as most of the time we had one of the two pools to ourselves which was fantastic my daughter was never out of the pool.

Matagorda itself is very quiet but there is plenty of entertainment available nearby in Peurto del Carmen. A bus/taxi ride into the old town of Peurto del Carmen is highly recommended as there are plenty of bars/restaurants and also loads of shops to spend all your euros in.

I would recommend anyone to stay at the morromar as the complex is beautiful and is great value for money. Transfer from the airport takes between 5-10 mins although air traffic noise is not too noticable. Accommodation ok for all but people with mobility problems should check first as there is a slight incline up to the Morromar. Hopefully i will be returning to this complex very soon with more of my family.

Having booked our holiday online with Expedia, we were originally supposed to be staying at the Aquarius apartments in Puerto Del Carmen. When we arrived there we were told they were over booked and we were being moved to the Morro Mar, which we were assured were still in Del Carmen.

How wrong that was!!

I can't fault the apartments or the staff there as both were excellent. The apartments have been fully refurbished and are very modern, equipped with toaster, kettle, t.v.. Both pools were open but the gym and supermarket were still getting worked on.

I would have loved to pick these apartments up and moved them nearer to Del Carmen as the night life in Matagorda was none exhistant in my eyes. We didn't set out for a clubbing holiday but do like places to have quite a lively atmosphere. The shopping complex had supermarkets, restaurants and a few bars but we only ventured there of a daytime for our breakfast (we recommend First in, Last out irish bar for that mmmm, lovely)

Over all it was an enjoyable holiday but take some extra cash for taxi's if your looking for a lively base, we spent at least 50 euros just on them as the heat does get to you if you plan to walk to Del Carmen every day..
