The Entrance to Hotel La Geria was very impressive It also had a lovely pool. We found the room not up to 4* standard there was black mould growing round the bath - day to day it was kept clean by the maid but the black mould was never touched. We were on the 4th Floor and the hall way carpets were very dirty and the windows behind the nets were filthy. We were staying on a bed and breakfast basis. We didn't like having to stand in line every morning (sometimes 10 - 15 couples deep) for our breakfast then when you finally got a table which on 2 occasions were left dirty you then helped yourself to a wide selection of breakfast although if you choose fried breakfast it came very greasy and the bacon was nearly all fat at the end of our breakfast we would have a pile of dirty dishes on our table where the waiters/waitresses never bothered to clear the tables.

We have been to much better 4* Hotels and would definately not return to the Hotel La Geria.

After reading a couple of the reviews about this hotel I was a little bit worried about my choice of hotel. However, on arrival I realised that I had nothing to worry about.

Although a couple of aspects could be improved. Firstly the bottom of the pool is in need of repair as the paint is peeling from the bottom making it rough. We had choosen to go Bed and Breakfast which I am glad we did. The breakfast was fantastic and choice was never ending! We did eat in the restaurant one evening and it was abit like having school dinners! We all ending up eating chicken and chips and it was one of the most expensive meals of our holiday.

The rest of the hotel is very impressive and especially the pool area which was not short of sunbeds.

The childrens club did not run until our second week which was half term and my children enjoyed the activities (they even took my 3 year old).

The hotel in situated in a very quiet spot but are enough places to eat on the doorstep and puerto del carmen is only a short taxi ride away. This can be walked in about 20-30 minutes.

The beach can be seen from the hotel and you only have to cross the road.

The hotel rooms are very big ( we had 4 beds in the one room and we still had room to move) There are some suites at this hotel which are 2 joining rooms which I would choose to stay in next time!!

This was our first trip to Lanzarote and we would go back and we would also return to this hotel.

We were worried when we read one review before we went to this hotel, and after reading a couple more on our return we thought they must have been at a different hotel than us.

Our room was a good size and very clean.
The food was excellent, a very varied choice of dishes.
We thought that the pool area was very good and we didn't have any trouble all the fortnight we were there getting a sunbed, even on the days that we had gone on trips we were able get a sunbed and mattress.
Towels were provided without charge for the length of your stay. Fridges could be hired empty or drinks provided.
Two small bottles of wine and fruit were left in our room to welcome us.
Even though it was very hot while we were there, the air conditioning was adequate.
The staff were all very friendly and very helpful

Our Rep. was extremely good at her job, very helpful and professional.
We did not see any ants or cockroaches during our stay in the hotel or grounds.
The pool could perhaps have done with a paint and it did seem pointless having to unlock the gate when the railings finished before the end of the grounds, but while we were there no rooms were broken into.

There are some good trips to go on, especially the 4x4 trips which was extremely interesting.
A walk up to Matagorda to see the planes land.
We enjoyed our holiday very much and would go to this hotel again

The hotel is situated in a good position across the road from a good beach and walking distant to many bars and restaurants.
First impression of hotel good, reception area is bright and clean with friendly reception staff.
Our rooms were a normal size and clean but could do with coat of paint and there were a few stains on the carpets.

The restaurant food was good and varied but beware if you have a teenage daughter as one of the waiters tried to get to friendly with our daughter who found it very uncomfortable and we had to make a complaint.

The outside pool area is clean but the pool is peeling badly at the bottom and you could easily cut yourself, it was also very cold. There were plenty of sun beds so you did not have to get up early to put towels on, which was good.

The entertainment during the day was good due to Greg who was excellent and involved everyone who wanted to take part. Evening entertainment was good as far as holiday entertainment goes. If you wanted something livelier you could get a taxi from outside the hotel for less than 3 Euros to Puerto del Carmen or a good 35 minute walk.

Holiday overall was good, I would rate it 4 star but I have been to better 4 star hotels. I think it needs a bit of paint job especially the pool area, which they could do with a new one. A couple of the bar staff could do with a lesson on how to smile it was just as well they was not all like it, but overall a good holiday.

After reading the previous reviews for this hotel I was expecting something special, but..

Don't get me wrong - it is not that bad.

The special touch of a taxi transfer from airport to hotel was very welcome (even though you are literally 5 mins drive away). And the exceptionally warm welcome we received on arrival was very nice.

When we arrived we were shown a room on the ground floor over looking the pool (apparently this is what we requested when we booked which no other hotel has ever done previously). This room was fine until we opened the patio doors - we certainly got our pool view, we were about 2 metres from the edge it. The ever-so helpful reception staff offered us another room albeit on the same floor but at the opposite end of the building which was slightly more private but much better.

The rooms are very large and airy (pitty about the lack of air-conditioning due to the exceptionally hot weather). But the complimentary basket of fruit and 2 small bottles of wine were a lovely touch. You can also rent the empty fridge in you room for a couple of euros a day, or they will fill it as a minibar for you to use.

The pool area is quite cramped and on the small side, but you can find a quiet spot if you get up early enough to reserve your sunbed with the hotel towels which are available from reception.

The childrens entertainment was a bit odd, one afternoon the game being played was 'pushing the animator and children into the pool' now I would call this 'game' rather dangerous, but they still played until a child banged her head.

The food in the restaurant would have been typical but enjoyable if the air-con had been working - but as I said before we were having 45 degree temperatures - and no-one can eat comfortably in that heat.

Overall - if the weather had been normal - I would rate the hotel probably 3 star plus, the rooms were clean and bright but it was the small things that let it down, especially the pool area. After 5 days roasting in this hotel we moved to the Beatriz Playa in Matagorda (as we had been there on 3 previous occasions) this hotel is much bigger - plus in a wonderful area, even though it is only 5 mins away.
