everything was great abt the bungalows except the pool as it wasnt heated

3rd time in Lanzarote so we're sold on the place for all the positive reasons stated elsewhere.

The bungalow was clean and comfortable. Adequate cooking facilities though found microwave grill difficult to use. Maids cleaned daily although sheets changed only once per week.

Despite comments in other reviews, we found the site restaurant food very good. The evening buffet meal was the best value we found on the island.

Oddly, the site has no laundry facilities. Reception (usually very helpful) said we would have to go into Puerto del Carmine, but we found that the Sol Apart/hotel a few minutes walk away on the beach front let non-residents use their self-service laundry facilities. Purchase tokens, 3 euros 50, from their reception. Bring own washing powder.

We would recommend these bungalows for clean comfortable quiet accommodation within easy reach of beach.

Hyde Park Lane Bungalows in general was a lovely place to stay. They were set in a tranquil area, with a short work to Los Poccilos beach.

The appartments were beautiful and clean we could not fault them at all. The cleaner came nearly every day, and she changed our towells more than what is stated in the brochure. We did ask for a pool view and double bed but did not get either!

Reception staff where very helpful and we always went to them to ask them to order a taxi into puerto del carmen which costs approx 3 euro's depending how far down the strip you want to go.

It was very cold on night we had to get more blankets from reception.

I did not think much of the food bar. There wasnt really much choice. One day I ordered beans on toast and they give me the toast cut into triangles with no more than a table spoon of beans next to the toast.

There are some lovely places to eat in puerto del carmen, and I think that it is a beautiful place.

Overall it was a very enjoyable hol and if you want to stay in a quiet area I would reccomend hyde Park Lane.

Originally I used this website for reference before booking our week in Hyde Park Lane (not to be confused with hyde park, just up the road) and I'm glad I did. There were some good reviews and this is going to be another one! The location of the site is perfect for a quieter holiday but the centre of the nightlife (Puerta del Carmen) can still be reached on foot in about 15 minutes. Bungalows were clean and everything worked! The only problem was that there are no double beds anywhere - every bungalow houses twin beds (not the best thing for couples).
The pool area seemed fine - if a little small... and the pool bar and restaurant were to a high standard.
If you are taking your holiday with THOMPSON - please make sure you read all the small print if you choose any of their excursions. Generally the tour guides were good but we did 3 excursions whilst on the island and not 1 of them provided everything that Thompson had sold to us!

All in all we had a lovely holiday - January obviously not the best time of year for sunbathing (we got about 5 hours in the week!) but weather was still a lot better than in Scotland :-)

If you like a good feed we would definitely reccomend 'Los Marineros' in the harbour at Carmen. Beautiful food and excellent service!

Choose Hyde Park Lane in Playa de los Pocillos if you want a calm stress free holiday.

I booked this holiday after reading your reveiws and have to say that i do not agree with most of them
We went to HPLB in december, for new year.
The apartment was damp, the bath was damaged there were a number of health and safety issues within the apartment that meant that we did not feel it was safe for our toddler.
The pool was filthy and in the week that we were there we never witnessed it being cleaned.
The entertainment was a hoot, but unintenionally one thinks, if you wish to see the pop idol rejects then this is the place to go, albeit they sing with spanish accents.

Thomson were an absolute disgrace we arrived on site at 3pm, by 5pm we had made our complaints regarding the room etc and asked for a move, the rep was rude obstructive and told us to come back the next night. We duly did so to be told that he couldnt move us until sunday (within the same complex I have to add) on sunday he was no where to be seen and he failed to find us or make his self known to us for the rest of the holiday. and this new Thomson 24 hr line that they keep banging on about is absolutley ridiculous, you ring them up to register your complaint (these complaints are dealth with in the balerics so no form of communication or contact there) and you are told by the operator to meet with your rep- well one of my complaints WAS ABOUT my rep, the scarlet pimpernel.

We have been and enjoyed poccilos, it is a great quiet resort in the winter but I will never book through Thomson again- it's independant all the way for me from now on

Be warned, I thought that the reveiws of the HPLB helped me make the right decision, on this occasion I felt that the reveiws were wrong.
Mind you I have just independantly booked another holdiay on the strength of some other reviews, so may be I am a glutton for punishment
