Myself and my boyfriend didnt like Puerto del Carmen, even though we were expecting to. The main street is dated and on the busy end PR's attempt to get you into their bar, when you go in you get buy one get one free on drinks but beware the free drink is weak!! And this is clearly a con. We wrote down a list of recommended restaurants from this site and we were very disappointed. Every restaurant with the exception of a couple have the same bland menu, I didnt expect miracles but the food is very samey and lacks flavour and culture. The 2 places we did enjoy were Pinochio's and Chiquito - we went back to these restaurants several times. Excursions are very expensive if booked through the rep so we gave it a miss. The exchange rate was very poor when we visited but we took 1200euro's for 2 weeks and this saw us through even though we ate and drank out every night. Alot of people in this resort loved it and visited every year so dont be put off, just be aware that its an aquired taste!

I would agree with what alot of other people have said about these appartments. The rooms are a lovely size, the bathroom has a wonderful power shower & the kitchen has every item that you will need. The negatives which I should point out are a lack of plug...

We had a great time and thought it was well worth it. J J's sports bar was where we went most evenings. Tony & Bernie were great hosts and the Kareoke and bingo was fun!

We do not got down on the main strip as it does not appeal to us, and the people trying to drag you into places just makes us more determind not to go in them so we stick to the old town

We liked PDC. The harbour is a much nicer end of town with some good restaurants. The strip goes on for miles and is full of the bog standard shops, bars and restaurants. Buses and taxis are cheap. Hired a car for one day and saw most of the sights as it's quite a compact island. Sadly, we didn't get up to the Mirador.

We stayed at the Flora for 10 days. We booked independently and were self catering so unfortunately can't comment on the restaurant. The one bed apartment was big and airy and we did have a sea view. The apartments are getting a little shabby but as we l...
