Me, my husband, my daughter (16),son (19) and his girlfriend (18) have just got home after a week at Las Velazquez apartments and were really happy with them. We stayed in apartment 12 (a 2 b/room, 2 shower/toilet) and the small pool was just outside our door pretty much. The view was beautifull, overlooking the sea. Our beds were made for us each day and sheets were changed mid week. On arrival (at reception) we had to pay 150 euro deposit for damages you get back at the end of your stay. We just gave our credit card details and they just kept them untill the day we left. Air con is free however you have to pay a deposit of 50 euro for the conroll, which you also get back on your departure. Use of a safe (which is in one of the b/rooms) costs 14 euros plus 12 euro deposit. None of this info was in the brochure. You can purchase 5 litre bottles of water for 1 euro 50 from reception. One thing I would say is that the steps leading to the bigger pool are very slippery when wet so take extra care. Over all, a fab location and very comfortable for a weeks stay. If we were ever going back we would choose Las Velazquez apartments definatly. If you do choose to stay here then check out Cafe La Ola next to the casino. It's a beautiful setting overlooking the sea with a pool and a 4 poster bed to relax on if you wish. The cocktails were lush and the food was great. We paid 127 euro for a 2 course meal for 5 people with 5 cocktails and 3 large beers.

Loved Puerto Del Carmen. A must is the Catlanza trip. 4 hours on a catamaran, lunch and booze included plus snorkling and a ride on a jet ski. 69 euros per person. We had a great time and thought it was well worth it. J J's sports bar was where we went mos...

We have stayed at these apartments three times now and have had a wonderful time. The apartments are right on the rocky beach which is great for snorkling and rock pooling - take your wet suits. There are two pools which are suitable for all ages. The location is great - right near all the shops and restaurants in Puerto Del Carmen. The cleaners always seemed to be around and were very thorough. Although it was very central, it was also secluded and peaceful. When we were last there we were lucky enough to see a school of dolphins passing by just while we were sitting by the pool. What more could you want? We will definitely be going back!

This resort had everything we needed. It was busy and not too "new" like some of the other resorts on the island. It had a lot of restaurants along the beach front and some interesting shops to browse round. It is also only about 20 minutes drive from th...

We have just returned from a wonderful relaxing week. Our flight landed early. We were at the Bungalows an hour later. Only complaint for the whole week was when we went to check in and were told the room wouldn't be ready for another hour and a half. We weren't overly impressed so went for a walk and got a couple of drinks. When we finally got into our room the annoyance quickly passed as when we opened the curtains we had the most spectacular view of the sea.... breathtaking!

We were staying in a 1-bed apartment, which has everything you need for self-catering. Large fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee maker plus all the other useful utensils you can think of...even a scourer and washing up liquid! Was very impressed with the bathroom as well as the shower is a proper one with a screen and not one of those annoying curtains that stick to you! You have to pay a 150 Euro deposit for breakages, 14 Euros for the safety box in the bungalow, and 60 Euros for the air con control which you also get back at the end of the holiday. The maids were lovely and left the bungalow spotless every day with fresh bath towels. The staff in reception was friendly and you could buy an 8-litre bottle of water there for 2 euros that is handy should you need fluid and not have to go over to the supermarket. There were sun lounges and furniture on the patio if you just wanted to be lazy and lounge around your apartment. If not there was a nice pool area. As for the view....words cannot describe how wonderful it is!

Although the bungalows are on the main road, there were situated in a quiet area and a good 5-10 walk from the main bars so you wouldn't hear people, who were stumbling out of the bars, making loads of noise and thus disrupting your sleep. The lovely sandy beaches are only a 5 minute walk away from the bungalows.

The weather was great and much hotter than we expected. It could be quite cloudy in the mornings but don't let this get you down. Usually by lunch time it clears. There is also a lovely breeze by the sea but be warned...you could end up a bit of a lobster as you don't realise how hot it really is!

There were a couple of supermarkets within 3 mins walk of Las Velazquez which covered everything you need for breakfast, lunch and even dinner if you were in the mood to prepare a meal indoors!

There are plenty of places to go out for drinks. Linekers is great for the sports. Ruta 66 and Tropical are next to each other and both play a good mix of tunes with very friendly staff. On average a vodka and mixer is about 5 Euros. When you see the measure you get you will realise its well worth it.

For meals we would thoroughly recommend Lanis, the food and service was excellent. Mulligans Irish Bar does the best burgers, so good in fact that I had it twice in the week we were there. In fairness all the food at Mulligans was top class, freshly prepared home cooking and fair portions.

Be prepared for people trying to get you into every bar and restaurant you walk by...its pretty annoying but you get used to smiling sweetly and saying no thanks.

For cigs and booze the best deal has to be Vnish, far cheaper than anywhere else.

We would definitely come back to Puerto Del Carmen and without doubt stay at Las Velazquez bungalows. If it's a relaxing holiday you need then this is place to stay.... heavenly!

We stayed this year in the velaquez and were not disapointed.0n arrival we were shown to our apartment by the friendly staff who helped with our heavy cases. My wife Barbara who suffers from a cleaning disorder was shocked at how clean it was and this was the topic of the conversation for the rest of the holiday. We normally spend the first 2 days of every holiday cleaning and spraying the place with her mosquito sprays but this was not needed. I usually get bitten on every holiday but not here, it was clean and not a bug in sight.
The resort is marvellous with plenty to do and lots to see. Barbara who normally does not eat much and hardly ever drinks got drunk on the catamalanga tour.I was glad to finally find a holiday where we did not get hasseled and did not get dragged into bars.We have booked to go back with our friends in May.

We recommend this apartment and resort. You wont be disappointed.

We stayed at these bungalows in september 06 and it was fantastic!, could not believe how clean they were and always kept very clean by the maids. We had everything we needed as it was a 2 bedroom apartment we had a bathroom each which was a god send with there being four of us,ours looked straight onto the sea which was perfect, we also had the end apartment no 33 and so glad we did.We enjoyed puerto del carmen a lot and can't wait to go back.We did not care much for the Lani's food which we tried several different places as there is a few of them , we prefered The Rambler for home made english food and of course for the kids McDonalds!.If your thinking about booking these apartments I would certainly recommend them.Well worth the 4 star rating!!!
