We discovered this hotel browsing the web.. We visited Seville very briefly last October and were quite taken by it so decided a quick return was a must. A bit of research and we came up with the Amadeus. Having checked the Amadeus' own website and extensive web research, we made contact via email and finally booking direct by telephone. Throughout we dealt with Victoria who was always more than helpful.
On our arrival late evening, we were met by Fransisco on reception who was excellent and helpful. The hotel is simply stunning in it's own way. Naturally the name gives away the theme, with musical instruments every where along with the rooms being adorned with composers names.
We stayed in room 301, Atico, on the 3rd floor. The room was reached via the lift to floor 2, followed by a walk up a final flight of stairs. The room itself was quite spacious with an enormous double bed. This was clad in crisp white bed linen. There was adequate space for clothes for our stay of 4 days, although for any longer duration, may prove insufficient. A minor quibble. The room had a TV and air-conditioning, the latter essential in the heat. A shower room, with for once, an effective shower was accessed just off the main room.
Above the Atico room is the roof terrace and that really provided our only gripe. The terrace itself was an excellent seating area to take in some sun, sit and have a drink any time of the day and take in the superb views of the city, in particular the Cathedral and Giralda tower. However, other residents dragging chairs around constantly, either in the wee hours or early morning grated somewhat. Although it was easily cured by using earplugs, I would rather not have to. But nevertheless, it did not affect our stay and one could hardly blame the hotel.
To relieve any boredom, as if given the riches on offer in Seville, the hotel provided free web access via a PC on the second floor and wi-fi too. The musical theme was carried throughout the whole building with access to mucial instruments and CD's.
The price we paid was fair e115 per night + 7%iva but had been made more expensive by the recent strong showing by the Euro.
All in we had a great break in Seville and the hotel could not have been better and that includes the location in the heart of Barrio Santa Cruz. We will definitely go back and would recommend this hotel to any visitor contemplating Seville.
