"great"
Overall Hotel Rating:
returned from a week's holiday at the Alcudia Beach Apartments - family of five (3 boys aged 6, 3, 21 months). The best thing about the Alcudia Beach Apartments has to be the large children's pool - enjoyed by all ages but great for under sevens. The entertainment manager Minty and his team work very hard and the children love him. The food at the pool bar was of an excellent standard and the staff in the whole of the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly. The 1 bedroom apartments are small but have everything you need - the balconies were a good size and we had a nice view of the pool. We had to move apartments as the first one we were allocated smelt of smoke but reception were very quick to move us when we complained. Air conditioning in the apartment was not as good as we have had elsewhere - this needs rehauling along with the decor in the apartments. The entertainment at night for the children was perfect, we didnt see any of the adult shows so couldnt comment on those. All in all we had a lovely family holiday, fabulous weather and very relaxing. with 3 happy children there were 2 happy parents.

Overall Hotel Rating:
We had a lovely holiday at the Alcudia Beach Apartments. The reception, restaurant and pool area was excellent the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. Our only complaint would be that the rooms needed updating and were not cleaned properly while we were there. Minty was good entertainment for the kids but needs to let the adults decide if they want to join in!!

"nothing special"
Overall Hotel Rating:
The hotel we stayed in was average but the rooms were very basic. Not alot of room to move around in if u have a cot at the end of ure bed! The maids did not clean the room or bathroom at all in the 2weeks we stayed. Maybe only moped but around the sink, and bath was not cleaned at all,we had fluff underneath the bed and sofa for 2weeks and wiv havin a 11month year old, finger prints were left on the patio door for the whole 2 weeks too! The staff were friendly and the food around the pool was good.Although Minty was abit too loud for me,and did not like the idea of him throwin ppl into the pool off their sunloungers,as how did he knw that they cud swim?!?! he often found it funny gettin all the kids to go round in a gang sqwirting familys on their sunloungers just mindin their own business!

"disappointing holiday"
Overall Hotel Rating:
The reception area of the hotel is lovely,as is the bar area. The pool is clean and the pool bar offer good food at reasonable prices. The all you can eat breakfast is very good value for money and the food is good.Thats all the good points! The rooms are very tierd and the kitchen area awful. Our bathroom was not cleaned in the 2 weeks we were there, and had a horrible stale smell. The bedding had seen better days with see through sheets. As for the entertainer Minty(who was known as Chris 3 years ago!) he is nothing but a bully. The kids loved him as he is one.He even took towels off sunbeds of half of the pool because he decided you should be sat on them all the time.Nevermind you neede to eat.He nearly caused a riot one morning.Kids had no shade as the towels had been removed by him for no reason.Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

"holiday 2009 alcudia beach"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Just returned from the Alcudia Beach Apartments. The apartments are located very centrally to all the local bars and restaurants. We were impressed with the reception area, restaurant and bar and the pool area. The reception staff were very friendly and really helpful, unfortunately those are the only favourable points. The apartment itself was big but could do with a complete revamp as it was very outdated and dull. The television only had one english channel all the BBC1 2 ITV AND CHANNEL 4 did not work at night time. It was not at all clean and items were under the bed presumably there for quite some time. The Kitchen was very inadequate and could only be described as a sink with a 2 ring hot plate, kettle and toaster. No cupboard space at all to keep groceries in. The cupboard which had ONE saucepan and ONE small frying pan was filthy as was the fridge. The crockery was chipped and dirty. Not at all adequate to be classed as a self catering property. The balcony furniture was dirty. The etnertainment at night was grim for adults but the children were kept amused by the character Minty. The pool bar did have reasonably priced food with a good choice, but all the drinks were very expensive. The sun loungers were reserved by people as early as 5.30 a.m. despite the notices that the pool area did not open until 9.00 a.m. To conclude, I will not be returning to the Alcudia Beach apartments.

"Great Family Holiday"
Overall Hotel Rating:
As soon as we arrived we knew we were somewhere special. This was nearly the last drop off from the coach and from the outside was by far the most attractive. This first impression was matched on entering the reception area. The whole appartment building was imaculate and was kept so by extremely attentive staff. We had a one bedroom appartment which was spacious and more than met the needs of the four of us (2 adults with 2 young children). We were fortunate enough to be on the sixth floor and the views were breathtaking. As far as the location goes it could not have been better. On leaving the appartments turn left and within a minute you reach a choice of 2 mini markets. Carry on straight ahead for another minute or so and you reach a stunning white sandy beach. Again the beach was clean and the water was crystal clear. The shore was fantastic for our children as the water remains shallow for a few metres giving them plenty of room to play without getting out of their depth. At the Appartments the pool area was immaculate with plenty of free sunbeds for everyone. The rule against reserving sunbeds with beach towels was strictly enforced (yet in a good natured way). Throughout, all members of staff were friendly, considerate and there for everyone and could not do enough for you. Eating out in Alcudia could be expensive but we found Twisters just around the corner where we could order good home-cooked food to eat in or take away. The prices were reasonable and the portions generous. On a few occasions we ordered curry and chilli to take away and they even served this on their own plates trusting us to return them. We also highly reccomend No Frills for the excursions, details of which are available at reception. We booked two trips with them and found them enjoyable and great value. Overall we have had our best family holiday yet and we have booked our return to Alcudia Beach Apartmentsfor 2010 within 24 hours of getting home.

"Great Apartments"
Overall Hotel Rating:
recently returned from these apartments(June '09) where we had a lovely time, the only thing to complain about was the so called entertainments manager Minty. He was rude, he was arrogant, and he was a bully. He made people feel uncomfortable with his remarks over the microphone to them, making sure evryone heard him. If you did'nt do things his way then he would make you feel idiotic. This isnt what a hotel entertainer should be like, he should encourage people to join in the fun, not bully them into it. We were'nt the only ones who felt this way, a number of people we talked to were of the same opionion. Othe than that we had a great time.

"Enjoy we did"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Once again thanks for the reviews on this hotel which helped us decide where to stay. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are going back on Sept 8th for 2 weeks to celebrate my 29th 21st Birthday for 2 weeks. After a 40 minute coach transfer we arrived too early for our room so off we went to the nearest bar for a proper breakfast at the Stagger Inn just down the road. On our return the booking in was completed very swiftly and off we went to our room. We had 3 of us and was a little disappointed to find we were allocated a studio instaed of an appartment however not being moaners we put up with it. On our penultimate day in fairness the lovely receptionist said that had she known we could have upgraded to an appartment which i went and had a look at and they were lovely and spacious.
Hotel
As i said the studio was small but had everything we needed ie a fridge microwave hob and plenty of storage space. The bathroom was adequate and the balcony although small very welcome. Rooms were cleaned every day bar Wednesday and Sundays the chambermaids we found were very lazy made the beds replaced toilet paper and towels and did no cleaning but as there was a brush and dustpan on the wall we took the hint and did it ourself hehe. It has a lovely pool area plenty of beds and 2 pools a paddling pol for toddlers and a large childrens pool at 2ft 6 deep and of course an adult pool which was freezing but then again it was October. Food was available most days weather permitting. Reception was very attentive and a credit to the hotel and near by the bar and restaurant facilities were very welcoming too.
Food
The Hotel food was excellent but far too much i dont think we ever gave an empty plate back due to the sheer size of portions.
Entertainment
We do not normally go to welcome meetings but on this occasion just could not resist as we were eager to meet the famous Minty everyone on here raves about. Very quickly he took over the welcome meeting from the Thomson rep and gave the best Arthur Daley sales pitch we have ever heard. For instance if you find a better meal outside of the hotel he will check it out and pay for it if he agrees which of course he never would ha ha. He also said he is like marmite either you like him or hate him so as a guide for you all if you like him enjoy he works tirelessly all day trying to make your stay enjoyable. However if you dislike him then simply call him Griss whereupon he will realise you know the truth about

My wife and I stayed at Alcudia Beach Apartments in early September 2008 lovely place good size rooms excellent staff and dining facilities, the satelite TV was a big plus in the evenings, entertainment was aimed mostly at the kids but we enjoyed a lot of it too, the beach is fabulous and huge, also a walk to the old town of Alcudia is a must, Lovely place.
