Went to this hotel as a couple August 2011. Nice room and balcony overlooking the sea (email to request before hand). Hotel is right on the beach, is lovely in the nights and is just a short walk from Cala D'or marina. However, the beach and sea was dirty and full of rubbish. I would also say this hotel is more inclined to families than couples.

We've just come back having spent the best 2 weeks of the year at the Skorpios.Exellent hotel staff and the entertainment staff worked from morning till night makeing sure that both children and adults had a good holiday. We have never been to a hotel that had such a wide choice of food whether it be breakfast.lunch, dinner or a poolside snack. Our room was spacious and cleaned everyday. The only negetive thing we can say is that we had to pay 5 euros each to play crazy golfwhich we think should have been included in the all inclusive package.

"Great All Round Holiday At Corfu/Skorpio"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Excellent

Open quote

Great All round hotel, we actually stayed in Marina Corfu but its the sister hotel to the Skorpios and both share facilities including the outside childrens play area (basic) evening entertainment area (viewable from our balcony) leading to beside the pools and outside bars and then has its own cove with lovely sandy beach and clear water (boat stop which picks up and takes you to other coves) and this flows well between the two hotels, the rooms are very clean and the food and drink choices are very good. we are so pleased with the hotel we have been there three times over the last five years and have had the same great experience each time. I have been with my parents mid 50's and with our good friends early 20's and have all enjoyed it...

Travelled with thomas cook, stayed at hotel skorpios 29/05/2010 – 05/06/2010, it was brill. Eight of us went altogether, age ranging from 12 years – 75 years, mom, dad, sister, husband, son and his girlfriend age 23 and daughter after 12. We were celebrating my mom and dads 50th wedding anniversary, we were given 2 rooms together on the second floor and one on the ground floor, which my son and his girlfriend had, all rooms had a magnificant view of the bay and were cleaned daily, the safe cost £25 per week, which is expensive. The food was ok, only complaint was it wasnt very warm and if you went to dinner late they didnt bother filling the food trays up. Getting a sunbed was a joke and more stressful than getting up for work on a monday morning, you had to get up about 7ish to reserve a place/area around the pool with a chair and your towel, then around 9am you had to wait for the sunbeds to be unlocked and replace your chair and towel for a sunbed. I had a word with the manager and he said it was because people had been fighting over the sunbeds. The pool snack bar and bar was great, the food was cooked fresh and was always hot and you could have what house drinks you wanted, which were also very nice. The evening entertainment was rubbish, we went to a couple of bars 5 minutes away, ‘sparkles’ sports bar by day and karaoke by night and the square was about 7 minutes away with plenty of shops and bars. All the staff at this hotel were lovely, helpful and polite. Overall we had the best holiday ever because we went as a extended family.

"fantastic location and beautiful view"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Excellent

Open quote

We have just returned from a week at this hotel and were fortunate to get the sea view we requested. Absolutely beautiful view, especially as we had fantastic weather. The sea is very shallow for quite a way in and really safe for children. The hotel is to a high standard of cleanliness and we couldn't fault anything to do with the rooms, main hotel areas or the grounds. Reception staff, maid service and bar staff were very friendly and helpfull. Very quick at serving drinks, the free lager isn't one of the better ones but if you drink shorts there was plenty of choice of local ones. The only thing I could really fault was the food. We are not fussy eaters, and I'll start with the positives; breakfast was excellent, real british back bacon and plenty of other choices, loads of fresh fruit at every meal, beautiful bread, but get it out the baskets where the flies can't get at it, and plenty of salad. Look out for the specials, they were only on 2 of the days we were there and are served to the left of the dining room as you go in. Unless you know they are there, they can easily be overlooked as we did. We had already eaten and then spotted the beautiful ham on the bone being sliced as we were on our way out! Negatives; the soup was very thin with little taste, check the veg with a fork as some of it was very undercooked and was not as hot as it could be, and we found some of the meat and fish options really dry. We have been to other hotels in Majorca that served buffet meals, but never found any other with as many flies around the food as we did here which was really off putting. Don't let it put you off the hotel as it is really good.

"Dip your feet in pool or sea"

Overall Hotel Rating:

The location is idyllic but those with walking difficulties will struggle to get to the pool area, cove, beach and sea, lots of steps or steep inclines! This hotel is excellent in that it offers quality food (something for all, especially on the special theme nights but the breakfast are as good as any in the UK), the cleanliness of all areas, rooms, bars, dining rooms and pool, and the friendliness of the bar, dining room and entertainment staff.  altogether made for a great holiday experience

"Hotel Skorpios"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Very Good

This hotel is now part of the R Group of hotels and not the Marina Group but is still an excellent hotel. The hotel is situated on a small cove with a nice beach and clear water and has its sister hotel Corfu on the other side. The rooms are a good size and are kept clean as is the rest of the hotel. Food is good, bar service excellent and quick for a AI hotel. You can eat and drink at the sister hotel if you want (but we were not told this) but the Skorpios is so good you do not have to. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool, pool bar service is very good and they serve snacks.

We stayed in the Corfu, which is the sister hotel. This hotel is wonderful - cannot fault it in any way. The location is idyllic, with its own beach next to the pool. The rooms are lovely and kept spotlessly clean, as is the whole hotel. The staff are helpful and friendly, the entertainment each evening is varied. The food is very good, with plenty of choice for each meal and "specials" each evening with something different each evening. I would definitely go back, and would recommend it to anyone - couples and families alike. Wish I was still there!

"overall a great holiday!"

What a lovely unexpected location! We were with our 2 daughters, 11 and 17 yrs and we all had a relaxing and very comfortable holiday with good food, great views and comfortable rooms. Lovely, spotless and friendly hotel. Staff are all really friendly and reception staff extremely helpful. Entertainment staff were fabulous and professional. Pool area a bit crampt in high season but otherwise everything suited us down to the ground! This hotel and resort is really great for families but not if you want a high rise and noisy resort. This is tranquil and relaxed during the day and entertainment for families in the evening was great but not over the top - you could still find a quiet spot and have a drink and a chill if thats what you like. Food was varied and well presented, dining room pleasant and spotless. We will be returning for sure and can recommend it as a really great find!

"Fantastic"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Just returned after a week at this hotel, it was fantastic and we are already booking for 2 weeks next year. The food was very good and had plenty of choice for everyone. The cove is beautiful, there are some jellyfish though so take some afterbite with you( £3 from wilkos). The pool and pool bar is clean and there is a lifeguard there all day. The snacks from the pool bar are also good. The entertainments team are great and always try to get you to join in with the activities which are good fun. The location is fab, for 3 euros 50 you can get a little road train which takes you to cala dor and shows you a bit more of the area but the walk there is beautiful through the marina and takes approx 20 mins. The maids clean the rooms everyday and the hotel and grounds were spotless all the time, at night they clean the beach so it always looks lovely. I think it could get rather busy in school hols as the hotels are big yet the grounds are quite small, but children will have a great time in the kids club as they were always entertaining them. This hotel in my opinion is more like a four star and is most definately the best all inclusive I have been to. Cant wait to go back!

This hotel ticked all the right boxes GOOD STAFF, FOOD, ROOM and there was entertainment if required (not for us) albeit a little loud. Most things were aimed at people who wanted to 'join in' especially through the day and the animation team were very enthusiastic and hard working from 10am until late in the evening. The hotel is on the beach which is cleaned every evening but the sea had jelly fish in most of the time which caused a few problems. If you want a quieter holiday I would suggest you go outside the school holidays. Word of warning if you can find another tour operator besides Portland I would chose them as their service left a lot to be desired.

"Maina Skorpios fantastic!"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Excellent

Open quote

We came to the Skorpios on May 3rd 2008. It was a fantastic holiday no problems. The only incident we had was when my 20 month old fell out of the high chair (the tray where the food goes on fell from underneath her) she had a split lip but was ok the only thing was that no members of staff came to see if she was ok and it wasn't busy but never mind. We had a fantastic holiday even though we only got 3 days out of 10 where we saw the sunshine so the weather was the biggest let down! Definately coming back here again perhaps in the high season when the weather is guaranteed to be good! We are on the younger side of holiday makers myself 19, richard 21, brother richard 18 and adam 17 all with my two young children of 20 months and 3 months, we had a wonderful time and the beach is stunning. The sea is the perfect picture! Rooms were cleaned daily and the food was fantastic with a carvery ever evening! Be sure to have a 'love on the beach' cocktail at the hotel it is really tasty! We drank quite alot of it while there and missed it when we got home! Lots of activities to do here, I didn't see my brothers most days as they were off doing football, killer darts etc. Plenty to do for the children, there's a kids club but I think that they have to be over 3. The pool is lovely, very clean and there's a shallow part and a seperate part for the children. All in all we would recommend this hotel to anybody of any age! Wanna go back!!

"A week in the sun"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Very Good

Open quote

We flew from Bournemouth to Palma for a week in the sun. The transfer by coach to Cala Egos (near to Cala d Or) was delayed in leaving the airport, but we eventually reached the hotel. For a 3-star hotel we were very pleased. The room overlooked the beach, was comfortable and clean, and it was kept that way by the maid. The hotel itself was spotless and the mainly Polish staff were very nice. Service at the bar, the snack-bar, or the restaurant was really quick and always with a smile. The food in the restaurant was varied and always with a good choice. There was always a vegetarian option and the cheese selection was most unexpected for this type of all-inclusive hotel. We have stayed in many hotels around the world with more stars than this one and not been offered a cheese board. Being the end of the season the hotel was not too crowded, and even the presence of the sister hotel opposite did not over-stretch the facilities around the pool and beach. There was a good selection of shops nearby including a small supermarket where we bought water for drinking. The evening entertainment was, for us, a bit late, starting at 22.00, but what we saw we enjoyed and were pleasantly surprised by the standard.
