In my opinion there isnt enough going on here even for 1 week. Theres a few bars, a good mini golf which was about 5euros each!!!but passed a good hour, some bargain shops for clothes/ souveniers but they all shut at 10pm.

Coach transfer was 2 hours - nearly as long as the plane journey!

We were disappointed with the resort. The resort itself is small with a compact selection of bars/gift shops etc in the middle. Nothing much beyond the resort without the use of public transport or a car. We made use of public transport to explore further afield - Cala D'or, Porto Cristo, Sa Coma and Cala Millor which had much more to offer.

The location was beautiful and there were loads of things to do. The prices were reasonable and the food in the restaurants was very delicious. I cannot wait for our return trip there.

"Nice wee village"

Overall Resort Rating:

Very Good

Open quote

Its only a small village but its boasts a couple of friendly english pubs with english food. As we were all inclusive we only ate out twice. The beaches in Calas de Mallorca are superb, they are small deep coves as opposed to long stretches but they are really great. Clearly marked swimming areas, lifeguards on site, beer hut what more could you ask for.

Nightlife, well apart from a few pubs nothing really, not a location for clubbers.

There is tourist info hut in town offering plenty of excursions including the glass bottom boats which are superb.

"A bit past it."

The resort was a bit run down, like it was once a lively place that has closed down. There are quite a few shops that you can see have been put out of business. The only shops remaining, are mainly tourist shops. We stayed at Hotel America, which is all inclusive so we didn't eat or drink out, but we heard good reviews about the 3 Lions bar from other holidaymakers. There isn't really any nightlife there, it's more suited for people who want to relax. The beaches are clean but can be crowded at times. At the domingos beach we rented a pedal boat for 15 euros for the hour, though it was extremely choppy when we did, and we returned it after 40 minutes. There are a few cliffs, that people like to dive/jump off of. Some foreigners dived off just anywhere, but there are some rocks in places, and if you wanted to dive/jump off one of the cliffs, I would advise you to go to the area where the glass bottom boats arrive at, you will probably see people jumping off regularly. The glass bottom boat, is probably the main attraction in Calas. The journey we took wasn't bumpy, but it was rather boring. We went to Cala Romantica and Porto Cristo. The pirate caves they stop at aren't too amazing. But if you still want to go on the boat, I would head into town to one of the many stores that sell the tickets for excursions, as you are likely to get a better price there.

Resort Facilities A good compact shopping area and things like towels, shorts etc very cheap not worth taking them out buy them there. Beware although the shops are very compact, prices for some things vary big time. You can catch a local bus to Porto cristo for 2.15 euro’s (single) and from there is a good bus route to loads of places. The bus to Cristo and back, calls at dracs caves so no need to use tour prices to get there. Also there are boat trips to other places along the coast one is for 24 euro’s return takes you several places, worth the money but you are on the boat a long time and also take your swimsuit because it stops for you to have a short swim. To and from airport can be anything from 45 mins to 2 hours.

"Quite resort"

Overall Resort Rating:

We stayed All Inclusive so we did not purchase any food or drink outside of our resort but we did hear that the food was of a good standard however a bit pricey!. The resort itself is very commercialised the usual tourist shops, it was not very busy when we went June 2010 and the locals had said that it has been quiet this year, probably down to the exchange rate being poor at present, the beaches are fab and the coast-line is breathtaking, there is plenty to keep you occupied, boat trips, scuba diving, sunbathing etc, As a mature couple the resort was ideal for us, very relaxing.
