"FABULOUS FAMILY HOLIDAY"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Can't find a single fault with the hotel. It is the best family holiday that we have ever been on. The entertainment was brilliant (non stop) and the staff were extremely helpful (the bar staff could do with smiling slightly more). There was always loads of food variety - perfect for the person who will eat everything. The swimming pools were immaculate. The kids clubs were hotel run and were just brilliant. Something going on at all times. You do have to be up early to get a sunlounger - however they do keep a few stacks chained up until 9am but then you have to beat the queues. Ideal family complex (for kids of all ages)

"Lovely hotel"
Overall Hotel Rating:
I travelled here with my mum and my only worry was that the hotel would be too geared up for children and it would be swarming with them as it was a Flintstone Hotel. We stayed at the Mirlos where half board guests stay and the all inclusive travellers stay at the Tordos. We were lucky that as we travelled out of school holidays there weren't many children here although we did notice at the pool at the Tordos did seem to have many more children. You generally use the facilities at your specific hotel which was great. Hotel had brilliant location, only a 2 minute walk to the gorgeous sandy beach and promenade. Meals were generally very good and I am a very fussy eater so it really must have been good. In the restaurant there was a seperate dining area for families with children which was great they were all in the same area. There were meal choices for both adults and children, again with a seperate area for children. Lots of choice with salads, meats, stews, vegetables, fish etc and huge array of desserts including a wide variety of fresh fruits for breakfast and dinner such as fresh pineapple, melon, oranges, kiwi, strawberries and many more and as I was watching my weight this was great. Rooms very confortable and recently renovated as the hotel caught fire a couple of years ago so everything had to be rebuilt/decorated and was very modern. Rooms were big, lots of storage and all with balconies. Bar area again very modern and entertainment was held inside here at the time of year when we were there (end September). More than enough space for everyone to get a seat. Entertainment ok but as in many hotels it was done in several languages which I don't really like. Drinks reasonably priced and there were several new computers where internet access could also be used. Unfortunately when we were there Majorca experienced a hurricane if you can beleive it and really this was the only negative aspect to the holiday. Whilst on the beach we suddenly noticed very black cloud so went back to hotel earlier than we would normally, very good idea as the heaven's opened. Within an hour everywhere was flooded (and living in Gloucester it bought back awful memories of the floods we had in Gloucestershire and couldn't believe it was now happening abroad). Then the wind came out of nowhere. I was in the bar area getting a drink and it was very scary. Someone tried to go out the main reception doors causing windows and doors to be smashed. Trees were bending over and all flights had to be diverted as airport forced to close. Even the main hospital in Palma and to evacuate with all the patients. It only lasted about 2 hours but i will never forget it. When we eventually left the hotel it was like a bomb site with rubbish, debris and trees/branches everywhere. Mum was sat on toilet in our room when suddenly the wind caused the tiles in the ceiling to move and crash down. I have to say the hotel managed the situation excellently to ensure everyone was safe and were very professional. It is funny though when you see the bermusement on managers faces as they had experienced nothing like this and watching them clear up bought a smile to our faces. A huge tree outside the front of hotel had actually bent right over returing to its upright position making it unsafe to leave and there were approximately 10 staff members trying to decide what to do whereas in Britian they would have had more of an idea!! Anyway if you are looking for a modern, good quality hotel near to the resort and beach you will enjoy your stay here. It is suitable for most holiday makers whether young families or older people and the only reason I won't be returning is nothing to do with the hotel, we didn't really think much of the resort and despite having a lovely holiday we probably won't return.
"Excellent for large families "
Overall Hotel Rating:
We stayed at this hotel, all inclusive and could not fault it, the food was excellent with lots of choice which was fab as having 2 out of 4 children who are fussy eaters I thought it might be a problem but it was not. Staff were helpful and friendly. We had 2 lovely, clean rooms. We could not fault it and if only all ALL INCLUSIVE hotels were like this one. Recommended to everyone - would visit again.

"Sol Mirlos"
Overall Hotel Rating:
The Mirlos was pretty quiet as it is now out of season, but the weather was beautiful. The food is typical Sol fare, English choices along with a few local dishes. On some nights entertainment was low key, but the bar was always open. There wasn't too much open in the resort.

"Great Hotel and Facilities"
Overall Hotel Rating:
After a week at the Sol Tordos (all inclusive), I can honestly state my prejudices against "all inclusive resorts" have been swept away! Fantastic hotel (spotlessly clean) with a mass of free activities - what more could my wife and I (plus 18 month old daughter) want?! Good selection of food (even if it did get a bit "samey") with a wide variety of free drinks - also free ice lollies during the day proven a godsend in the heat! If you have any doubts on this hotel, don't - just across from the beach (lovely and clean) with a good selection of pools onsite (two kids pools and two big adult pools). Give it a go - you won't regret it!

"Fantastic Holiday - Explosive actually!"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Well we've just come back from a week's holiday at the Sol Tordos All Inclusive and it wasn't long enough. We were a party of 4 adults and 1 two year old boy. The hotel is spotless and staff work very hard to keep it that way. Food is served all day day and is of a very good standard, some staff could be slightly off hand in the resturant if someone tried to start helping themselves to lunch if it wasn't quiet 1pm and the same at the evening meal but there were never any queues and we always enjoyed our meals. There were sandwiches throughhout snack times which was ideal for our son and he was spoilt for choice at meal times although he isn't a chicken nugget fan and they are served constantly.
Sunbeds were resevered as soon as the pool area is opended and some people actually waited 30mins before to grab the 1st sunbeds which amazes me. Our son woke every morning like an alarm clock at 7.30am but we sometimes struggled for beds.
The entertainment staff are amazing, I don't think I've seen a team work so hard. The only downfall to this is that its virtually impossible to get a seat in the evening to watch the entertainment after 8pm so go early!
The hotel is situated perfectly in the middle of both Palma Nova and Magaluf and the beach fronts are gorgeeous to both resorts. Magaluf can get quite rowdy from Fri-Mon as hen do's and stag do's desend. During our stay we were unlucky enough to experience the ETA car bomb explosion which was literally 150 yards away from the front of the hotel....very frightening. After the initial panic staff did a fantastic job of reassuring all the guest and normaility was soon restored by the evening and we soon able to enjoy the rest of our holiday...no reps in sight tho!
All in all this hotel is superb for families of all ages and if you don't enjoy your holiday here I can't honestly think why! If you're about to jet off to this fabulous resort and hotel....enjoy...we certainly did!

"10 out of 10 best holiday ever"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Me and my boyfriend 18 and 21 had a fabolous time. We went all inclusive and stayed in sol tordos. It was so clean, food was fab with loads of choice from freshly cooked chicken to dogfish there was something for everyone. Although we only had breakfast once as we were hungover it was lovely. It was so quite on a night no rowdy behaviour, coudl always get a sunlounger ever if we got up at 11. Was packed full the hotel with a lovely atmosphere in both of the large pools there were activites fr adults and children and the flinstones characters came around twice a day would be great for kids. Entertainment was great very english entertainment like a fair one night, jackson 2 tribute, beatles tribute, the location was amazing 3 euros for a taxi to magaluf palma main strip 5 mins away beach 2 minutes walk. Marine land bus which is free picks up outside hotel and took 20 minute transfer from palma airport. Rooms are very clean and maids are in every day with clean towels and making beds. Defintly book up now you will not be dissapointed.

"Great place...highly recommended!"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Wow, what can I say...just returned from a fabulous 2 week stay and loved every aspect of the holiday. The food was great and plenty to choose from. The drinks were great too and there was always plenty of choice. Just a short stroll from the beach...what a great location this hotel is. Taxi's are very reasonable, also there is a good bus service running if you want to get anyway on the island! We will definately return next year! 10/10

"Hotel Sol Mirlos"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Our family (me, my wife and 2 kids - one aged 5 the other aged 7) spent a week in the Mirlos/Tordos in June 2009. We went for all inclusive, and let me tell you that was a good choice! The food was really excellent, the staff were very approachable and helpful and the facilities for the children were beyond what we expected. There was so much for them to do we hardly saw them, which was nice! The location was great - very close to Palma Nova for everything it has to offer. The pool area was large and well kept, we spent a great deal of time here. The rooms were a little smaller than we expected, but not in a way that affected our enjoyment of the holiday. They were clean and well kept. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a good holiday!

"Super Family Holiday!"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We spent a week in the Mirlos/Tordos mid May 2009. We booked it last minute and - due to the amount of money we paid - our expectations weren't that high. How wrong could we be? The Tordos was closed during our stay, so we were housed in the Mirlos, but still all inclusive. The food was super, the staff so hard-working and pleasant, facilities for the children A1 (we have a 2 1/2 year old little boy & a 6 month old little girl), Excellent location - being as close as you need to be to all that Palma Nova has to offer, super pool area, good entertainment, and a clean& pleasant environment. My only grump would be about the size of the room that we were given - it was the same size as just couples we spoke to, so it was a little 'cosy' with the 4 of us, 2 buggies & all the tranquelments that 2 young children bring! Overall a super holiday, and will definately be going back!
