"Great family hotel."

Overall Hotel Rating:

Very Good

Open quote

We thought the hotel reception was very inviting. Loved the position over the lake and away from the main road and the free shuttle bus was a great bonus. The hotel staff were helpful, the hotel was always clean. The pools were great, loved the Breezers pool. Food was always hot and plentiful with different choices daily and twice a day. The kids enjoyed the kids club and the hotel based entertainment team were excellent. The evening entertainment was also excellent.

We took our 1,4 and 6 year olds for a 1st family holiday abroad and we didn't want to come home! The staff are all very helpful, polite and friendly, the hotel was clean, bright and spacious and there was plenty to do for all the family. The kids were very well entertained in Kids club and loved the mini discos every night. The free shuttle bus to the beach is brilliant for tiered little legs but the beach is also within easy walking distance. The pedal cars are a great way to look around the resort and also brilliant fun for the whole family. The food was nice with a good choice on offer although some things were a little repetitive by the end of the week. Bed sheets could have been changed more often when needed. Overall we had a brilliant holiday and wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Lagotel again in the future.

Friendly staff, but the entertainment staff cannot cope for all guests if it rains which is unfair to the majority of people sitting outside in the rain!

Just come back from 2 weeks in the Lagotel after a 3 year break. The hotel was just the same, most of the staff were the same which says a lot about the way they are treated and the way they treat us the holiday makers. Always cheerful and ready to help. Beds are changed regularly and towels when you leave them on the floor for changing. Bedding and towels always clean As were the rooms. Children's entertainment was very good but not very imaginative due to cutbacks in materials etc. As it was the school holidays it was crowded but always able to get in the dinind room for meals even though there were 6 of us.

don't usually do this review kind of thing but here goes, had a great time, hotel a bit old and needs a bit of a makeover but my teenage daughter loved it, she made so many friends and when your child is 14 nearly 15 holidays can be quite boring for them, didn't see much of her for 12 days out of the 2 weeks that we were there, so if you want a pretty lazy holiday sitting in the sun reading, and sunbathing without your child telling you how bored they are, go here, as I said its not glamorous, foods ok but again nothing special, rooms a bit dated, but your teenage daughter has a ball Lagotel all the way hahaha

A very well run hotel, good food and lovely pool areas. The location is not perfect as there are lots of mosquitos as the hotel is surrounded by a lake and marsh lands. Daytime activities are very good for young children not so good for teenagers. Evening entertainment ok but I have seen better. All in all if you have young children it is value for money.

"Not Impressed"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Open quote

The hotel is mainly for families younger children although there was quite a few with teenagers. The maid service was average, our room was not cleaned properly in the 2 weeks we were there, a layer of dust on the units and tv. The snack bar food was edible and ok for lunches but the restaurant food was nowhere near up to the standard it should of been. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything going on in the rooms next to you. The reception and pool areas and communal toilets were all kept very clean. You do have to queue to get into the pool to get a sunbed, which is not a critisim but it the 2nd week it was more of a pain than anything. There was only ever 1 lifeguard on for all the pools and very rarely did we see him in the main pools, he was mainly over at the salt water pools. I didn't need to use the kids facilities but what I saw of them it seemed to be ok. The hotel wasn't in the best situation but things were in easy reach if you felt like walking. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. Had we not gone out most nights for tea then I think it would of been value for money but as we were all inclusive I don't think it was. Nothing to do with the hotel at all but we found the teenagers to be unruly and disrespectful. the younger kids were still up at 12 sometimes even 1 in the morning screeching, crying and running along the corridors. I am all for relaxing on holiday and I have bought my 2 girls up to respect others, by going to our room quietly, not making too much noise if it is early in the morning, not making a mess in reception etc for the cleaners to clean up. Parents should have a bit more control over their kids regardless of their ages.

Very poor. Rude reception staff, poor choice of buffet food. Was very glad to be returning home after a week. The first choice reps were awful, begging for a positive review when they actually did nothing all day, it was embarrassing to hear.

"3 times and counting"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Very Good

Open quote

This year is the 3rd time we have been to the Lagotel in 3 years. The first year we made friends with a family and have since returned with them a further 2 times. The rooms are big enough for somewhere to crash at the end of the day, the food is very good with a varied selection, the entertainment is fantastic (the kids especially enjoy the mini disco prior to the main event) and the service is top notch. We have participated in archery, football, darts tournaments, killer pool, bingo as well as just taking it easy by the numerous amount of swimming pools on offer (2 in particular were nice and shallow for the kids to play in without us having to go in too). All in all you get what you pay for, if you want 5 star food with a four poster bed go and pay for it but for a 3 star family orientated resort where you can do as much or as little as you want this is one of the best. Oh the beach is pretty handsome too!

"Cheap and cheerful"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Good

Open quote

Hotel is good value but in a quieter area, that is not particularly pretty but not horrid either. Rooms are basic but adequate. Facilities are good although pools could do with a good clean.

The food is excellent with a good choice although the dining area of an evening does get very busy and noisy due to the hotels size.

The evening entertainment is way too loud and goes on to late for those families that have young children. Should you have a room over looking the pool, then do not expect to be able to sit out on the balcony and have a conversation of an evening or for your children to be able to sleep before midnight. Request a quiet room! The poolside rooms are not only noisy but give a lovely view of a factory that of course the hotel brochures do not mention.

The staff were very helpful. A wide selection of food at all meal times

The pools were ok but could have done with a slide or pirate ship or something else to make the kids more attracted to the pools

the evening entertainment was ok

Matt from First Choice could not have been more helpful SWEET

Just returned from a week all inclusive,2 adults and 2 10yr olds and we all had a fantastic holiday. We upgraded on booking to get a "den" for the kids which was well worth the extra, they had their own room and the rest of the apt was lovely and spacious with a view over the lake.weather was glorious with a lovely light breeze ,hotel is spotless and towels changed every day. Couldn't fault the food, plenty choice, kids own area for them to choose from, carvery a few nights which was delicious.Lovely big pools again spotlessly clean and entertainment was fab, no pressure to join in,lots for kids and adults. If your doing a trip, the Pirate Show is well worth the money,we booked through the rep at hotel. We also had a trip to the market in Alcudia,15euros for taxi, lovely cobbled streets and all the usual things to buy? The beach is spotlessly clean,10 euros for 2 sun beds and parasol, sea is lovely and clear and great for going out on lilos! All in we had a fab week and would definitely go back!

The hotel is very much a family hotel which is why I chose it. Me my daughter and 3year old grandson spent a very pleasant week here. There were many families and lots of children! Hotel was clean, rooms cleaned daily, staff at the hotel especially on reception were very friendly and helpful Food was good and on many occasions excellent, with a wide choice. At times the restaurant was busy and this meant queuing for food, usually for the toast machine! Value for money it certainly was. We used the kid's Club on a few occasions, this was good, not too busy and the children were kept occupied for the time they were there. In all recommended for families for children.

The kids entertainment was great both in the day and night. The restaurant can be busy at times but the food was all nice and hot and the staff were constantly refilling the dishes. There is plenty of space around the pools and lots of sunbeds we went to the pools across the road which were all clean and a good depth for the kids to play in. We also liked using the snack bar round the pool instead of going to the restaurant in the day which had a good selection of salad and snack food. We would definitely recommend this hotel to families.
