Arenal Den Castell review
"A BEAUTIFUL RESORT BUT QUIET & ISOLATED"
resort to a friend
If you are looking for relaxation and beautiful views and a great beach then this is the place for you. the resort is shaped around a bay which is stunning to look at. the beach is superb and was very quiet in mid june and the water is so clear, sunbeds are 5 euros each. the resort is very quiet only a handful of bars and not much to do and because of its location a taxi to the next resort is very expensive. the bars i recommend are the irish bar, the staff here are superb and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and guinness at 3.15 euros a bargain! the aussie bar is not bad too but although they stated they do guinnesss , it was not on for the 2 weeks i was there, smithys a little walk away selling local lager at 2 euros, generally 2.50 to 2.75 around the resort. the waikiki bar is different , expensive but a nice change from the others.very relaxing bar listen to abba songs in spanish. the romani bar was our favourite, we had lunch there most days, superb views. cant comment on the restaurants as we didnt eat out for dinner.lots of hills so not suitable for elderly.go to the thomson gold hotel for some good evening entertainment or the irish bar or the aussie bar, but not much to choose from in the evenings. a week would be enough here , 2 weeks you may be getting bored. I recommend a trip to mahon the capital for a day out very pretty by the harbour.Dont go on a hotel trip though its a rip of as are most of their trips, we took a taxi both ways had lunch there and was a lot cheaper this way.Overall i would say dont come here if you get bored quickly but if you just want relaxation then this is the place.

Hire of sunloungers at the beach were very expensive, which is why we mainly stayed on site as the Euro is so poor against the pound. plenty of things to do and would recommend a journey to Ciutedella.

The resort (harbour) was nice with bars and shops. It's the only thing to do of an evening as the hotel entertainment was c**p.

"Peaceful, Low key"
resort to a friend
If you like to wonder around the souvenir shops in the evening, before settling down in some bar to people watch, this ain't the place to go. There are very few shops, slightly more bars and only a handful of restaurants. It's 'low key' in every sense but verey relaxing if that's what you like.

The resort itself very nice and quite quiet i thought, it was just right for me. It had enough resturants and bars to choose from and enough shops to browse in through the day or night. Good day out at the aqua park which was directly oppisite my hotel. Locals were all very friendly. Lovely little town to go to in Cituellda thats nice for a day out site seeing. Overall very nice place to go to.

We have been to Menorca many times and over the years Cala n Forcat has definitely become busier but out of season it was relatively quiet and there any many restaurants and bars open in the evening. The small sany inlet is ideal for younger children and the sea was surprisingly warm. There is a water park in the resort but our grandchildren were too youg to visit

The Nuramar apartments were brilliant. They were very clean with staff changing the beds and towels every other day. The pools were excellent, although they were only cleaned once while we were there which was a little disappointing but nevertheless excellent. The location was perfect. A 5 minute walk to the Marina and 10 to the beach, although we stayed around the pool. The restaurants around the Marina were a little expensive and very similar but I can certainly recommend the following places to eat - Hong Kong Freestyle buffet (all you can eat for 7 euro (adult) 4 euro (child) with loads of choice plus a desert. Also the Fiesta bar on the Marina had a very extensive menu and was very reasonable. Leli's bar was excellent too (not on the Marina but abut 500 yards from Nuramar (its the one with the talking parrot outside!!). I would definitely stay away from La Piscina on the Marina - very expensive and the food was awful. Also the Steak House (Torres Noir) on the Marina was always packed (we didnt eat there because everyone we spoke to said it was very expensive (50 euro for 2 people!!) We also went on a half day boat trip which was brilliant (Don Pancho) which we caught from the Marina (15 euro adult and 5 euro child) and would definitely recommend it. The train which does a large circuit was good but I thought expensive for what it was - 7 euro each. I would give this resort 9 out of 10 - excellent for families and would definitely go there again. Have a good holiday.

Good but lack of traditional spanish food. All the bars are ideal for the kids and the aqua park was thoroughly enjoyed by the three of us.

Quiet area, if you want a busier time of things then go to one of the larger resorts. This was a perfect resrt that allowed you to you this the local bus service to get around or as we did, walk. Several shops locally, bowling alley, pool tables in every bar or outside each rest.

Cala Galdana review
"daves review of Cala Galdana"
resort to a friend
Cala Galdana is a Beautiful, very quiet, un-commercialised, quality resort suitable for young families and couples. The sea, beach and surrounding areas are superb and a credit to the resort. There is not much to do here but sun bath eat and drink, there are many walks to various deserted beaches from Cala Galdana. The resort is not particularly cheap, expect most things to be relatively expensive. There is a train that runs around the resort and is well worth the ride to make sure you see all there is to offer. All in all Cala Galdana is a first class, quality resort.
