Problems with flies in the dining room could lead to contamination and food poisoning, so be wary of what you eat. Ants in the rooms.

Arenal Den Castell is a beautiful horseshoe shaped bay, fabulous sandy beach with a couple of bars & restaurants on it, unfortunately when we were there at the end of the season (October) the weather had been poor and everywhere was closed up. Even all the sunbeds had disappeared! No night life except for the hotels. You really need a car to go round the island, which is beautiful, lots of small unspoilt beaches and coves, and at this time of year you can more or less have them to yourself.

The beach wasn't as good as the ones in Northumberland although all the brochures state they are fab!!! Didnt stay long. Loads of steps and ramps if you have a buggy and god forbid if you have a wheelchair! There was only a couple of retaurants to choose from so I'm glad I wasnt there for 2 weeks. Only two half decent bars that was the Irish pub and the outback Australian bar.
