only a small resort but enough bars and eating places. Better for couples. Not much there for children.

OverallExcellent Hotel

Just had two weeks at Hotel Sagitario. Public areas, dining room, bedrooms and pool area were spotless. Food very good. Staff very friendly. Entertainment every night. Very small resort but quite a few bars and eating places. We visited Danny's bar and Tony...

OverallExcellent Hotel

If you want five star food at two star prices this Hotel is for you. I have never eaten so much on holiday, fabulous variety, wonderful staff.

Ideal for over 50's, not a young persons place.

Cala Blanca is sun and sand and thats it really. The restaurants are of the chips with everything variety. One try at more authentic cuisine found tapas which included breaded scampi on a bed of lettuce and a bowl of chicken nuggets! It's a bit like a British sea side town but sunny. The beach is small and seemed to be covered in discarded cigarette ends which have to be cleared to one side before letting the kids play. There is a small water slide but this too has seen better days. Overall I would not recommend this resort. Even if sea and sand is all you want you can do much better than this. A pity because our accomodation was very good. Just wish we could move it to a different resort.

OverallGood Hotel

I would endorse the comments of Gareth Ross (July 08). Our party included two children aged three and six. Because of the small scale of the development you got to chatting with your neighbours and the children played together which was nice. The only probl...

Cala Blanca itself is a small purpose built resort which hasn't got much going for it other than a few expensive restaurants and bars and the food is not what I would call authentic but rather catering for what the Spanish believe us Brits want. I would avoid the restaurants near the beach because pretty as they are, the cost is high. The bars along a strip near the hotel cater for British who want Blackpool with good weather. Far better to use the excellent and cheap bus service that takes you into the old capital city of Ciutadella. The buses run hourly and take about 15 minutes but it is well worth it. The city is beautiful, all old narrow streets set in a small harbour. Once again, I would avoid the restaurants and bars on the harbour...they are extortionately priced and the food is Spanish gimmicky. Far better to go into the heart of the city and search out where the locals eat and drink in back street tapas bars and restaurants. We had some superb meals and excellent tapas for half the price you pay in the tourist traps. Some of them might not be anything to look at from the outside but they are well worth trying out. The language barrier might be a problem but you can always point!

OverallVery Good Hotel

Having booked this last minute we really didn't know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. The apartments are owned by the Sagitario hotel complex on the main road and you have a 100 yard walk to get to the apartments down a residential street. Th...

Booked a holiday with cosmos hot deal allocated on arrival at mahon, We were very surprised to be given a villa with our own pool, the villa was excellent, well maintained and close to beach and restaurants, also close to hotel sagitario, which we visited day time and evening, staff were friendly helpful, and couldn't do enough to make your visit an excellent experience, would definetly return to this resort. The resort is quiet, and ideal for older couples who enjoy eating out in the many different restaurants available.
