"Fantastic!!!!"

Had an absolutely fab 2 weeks at the Nuramar! We stayed in a 2 bed apartment which was huge. Staff are so friendly and helpful (especially one of the managers, Francisco). Cleanliness was superb-apartments cleaned top to bottom every day with full linen and towel change too. One morning my teenage daughter was still in bed when they cleaned our apartment so the children's room couldn't be cleaned or have bedding changed so the maid left the bedding over the banister we assumed for us to change ourselves but when we got back after an afternoon out she had been back and done it for us! Pool cleaned over night every night and pool area mopped religiously every morning...if you're up early enough to see as they start around 7am. Nice little hotel run club for kids if they want it during the afternoon. Food was always well cooked and although the choice wasn't fantastic it was certainly adequate. There was only evening entertainment twice a week but we were made fully aware of this before booking. You can't moan at little entertainment or kids facilities when the hotel doesn't advertise them! Calan Bosch is only a 5-10 min walk away with a lovely marina full of restaurants/bars and amusements for the kids. A couple of nice beaches nearby, although to find the really beautiful special ones you have to be prepared to go off the beaten track a bit... but it is well worth it believe me!! Overall a lovely friendly complex where you get the advantage of your own space and privacy along with the benefits of all inclusive. Will definitely be returning soon.

"Basic accomodation and facilities"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Average

Open quote

We have stayed at these apartments on two occassions in Sept 2009 & 2010. The second booking being a last minute decision because we were basically too lazy to shop around.

The apartments and the facilities are in my opinion very basic and would not (again in my opinion) be suitable for families with toddlers. The stairs in the apartments seem very dangerous for toddlers and this is a concern because all of the floors are concrete/tiled. The kitchen facilities also seemed quite basic and food in the fridges barely lasted 24 hours.

The apartments were cleaned daily with the exception of weekends. Cleanliness was o.k. but you had to nag for new towells, toilet rolls and the quality was poor!

The reception and bar staff were really friendly and helpful, better than the facilities deserved.

The facilites for children are in my opinion very poor consisting of a toddler pool and a very badly maintained sand pit (virtually no sand). There was limited entertainment on site for children (I think a children's face painter came once) and what there was, was very limited.

For adults/older children there was virtually no entertainment on site (a pool table, air hockey machine and pay to use internet facilities. The bar was 'limited'. On the positive you can go to the hotel complex next door for free in the evenings and use their restaurant (you have to pay for their meals) and that hotal has an excellent bar and evening entertainment.

Personally we would not stay here again!

Love menorca, we paid for fully inclusive, overrated outdated poor facility's repetitive non labelled cold food, kitchen staff to busy chasing one and other round like kids, shower plus taps corroded bathroom floods every time used, also flooding kitchen living area. Shutters on patio doors inoperable doors didn't lock, door to bedroom came off its hinges, poor snacks, poor bar, ran out of drinks, had to eat out most times, not surprised the rep's accommodation was in another hotel, glad we only booked one week, nice weather though :-(

"Never Again"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Poor

The Nuramar Apartments were sold to us as a 4 star holiday when in reality it is only a 2 star at very best. The hygiene was exceedingly poor (The apartments were only mopped once in 11 days, the bed sheets were changed only once in 11 days) there was excrement wiped on one of the sinks and nothing was done about it even though we told the cleaners about this twice, luckily there was another bathroom downstairs in the villa. The pool area was never mopped once, there were ants everywhere. The food was repetitive and the quality was very poor (we had meatballs 6 times in 10 days! and what was for the evening meal one night was usually reheated for lunch the next day). There were only two nights when there was any entertainment (if you could call it that - think of the worst ever auditions for X-Factor and you'll get an idea!) Do yourself a favour and avoid this place like the plague, in fact you'll probably catch the plague if you go here!

This was a return visit (previously there 3 years ago) and we can't believe how run down it has become. The rooms are a great size but no maintenace or sprucing up has been done since we left it 3 years ago! We also found the rooms to be dirty this time around, cobwebs in the corners and debris under the beds. Our fridge was broken and was fixed 3 days after we reported it. The air conditioning didn't work either although it made an almighty noise. We were very disappointed and would not consider trurning here again. It really has seen better days.

"Very Disappointing"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Poor

No where near the 4* it's advertised as. The rooms are spacious but are also tatty and shabby. Bathrooms had an offensive smell and tiles were cracked. Windows did not lock properly and you really couldn't self cater as the oven rings were rusted up. The pool area is small and many complaints were made about the pool being dirty and cloudy. We would not consider returning if it was free and would not recommend the Nuramar.

"Great resort"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Good

Open quote

If you want 5* luxury, look elsewhere. If however, you want good spacious accommodation,no frills, with the added bonus of air con, then this may be ok for you. We stayed in the 2 bedroom, apartment, although it would be better described as a villa style property, with 2 bedrooms upstairs, and an average size bathroom. Air con in both bedrooms. Downstairs,a lounge/ kitchen, very spacious, with 2 sofas that can be used as extra beds. Very small tv,with 1 station,so forget that as an option. Kitchen, if you plan on staying in much, and self catering, you may struggle. Microwave, fridge both ok,but limited cooking utensils, and only 2 hob cooker. We ate out every night,so not a problem for us,but could be if you have a family, and want to do your own cooking. There is a small patio area with seating for each 'villa style apartment'. Air con in the lounge/kitchen. Safe in main bedroom, athough it will cost you 17 Euros to hire the safe key from main reception for 7 days. Like i said, 5* they are not,and from our accommodation,i would say a good refurb would not go amiss,as looked a little tired, but served us well for the week. Pool, looked ok, but we did not use ourselves, prefer the sea. Did not use the bar or restaurant, and never really seen many others use during our stay, maybe they all prefered the excellent choice of bars restaurants in town. Overall not bad,we only paid £1012 for the week, and for the end of August,i thought that was good value, but if we had booked a little later than March, the price went as high as £1800 for the same week. A good location, and offereing a good no frills base, although i had no real problem with the place, i would not use again myself.

"Brilliant!!"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Very Good

Open quote

The Nuramar apartments were brilliant. They were very clean with staff changing the beds and towels every other day. The pools were excellent, although they were only cleaned once while we were there which was a little disappointing but nevertheless excellent. The location was perfect. A 5 minute walk to the Marina and 10 to the beach, although we stayed around the pool. The restaurants around the Marina were a little expensive and very similar but I can certainly recommend the following places to eat - Hong Kong Freestyle buffet (all you can eat for 7 euro (adult) 4 euro (child) with loads of choice plus a desert. Also the Fiesta bar on the Marina had a very extensive menu and was very reasonable. Leli's bar was excellent too (not on the Marina but abut 500 yards from Nuramar (its the one with the talking parrot outside!!). I would definitely stay away from La Piscina on the Marina - very expensive and the food was awful. Also the Steak House (Torres Noir) on the Marina was always packed (we didnt eat there because everyone we spoke to said it was very expensive (50 euro for 2 people!!) We also went on a half day boat trip which was brilliant (Don Pancho) which we caught from the Marina (15 euro adult and 5 euro child) and would definitely recommend it. The train which does a large circuit was good but I thought expensive for what it was - 7 euro each. I would give this resort 9 out of 10 - excellent for families and would definitely go there again. Have a good holiday.

"Nuramar Apartments Holiday Review"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Very Good

Open quote

We were most impressed with our holiday at the Nuramar Apartments, so much so that we would like to go again in the future. The complex is small and friendly and the accommodation is similar to having your own villa - we booked a 2 bedded apartment which also had 2 bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and the apartment very spacious. Some of the furniture looked a little tired but this was not a problem. The maids kept the apartment clean and although we had a small problem with a dirty bathroom when we arrived it was soon sorted out. We even had a small terrace and garden and with the 2 bed apartments you even get a little private out door area with a washing line. The pool never got too busy and the kids pool was ideal for little ones. The entertainment was not brilliant but we ate out each night so not a problem for us. We did eat on a few occasions at the Nuramar - you were pretty safe with omelette or chips but don't expect a gastronomic experience. The brochure stated there was a restaurant but this was not open during our stay.
