"What a fab place..."

Overall Hotel Rating:

Excellent

Open quote

Myself, husband and two daughters have just returned from a week at the Binimar appartments.... whata lovely place, especially for families. We were a bit worried prior to going as we had heard a few negative comments on the place, and how wrong those comments were. We went all inclusive which is great when you have children. The entertainment was fab, the entertainers themselves work very hard to make sure everyone is entertained day and night. The appartment was clean and of good size, there is no air con but you can hire fans at the reception. The food was lovely. The only down size was that there was not alot of choice for children, especially if your children are fussy eaters like ours!! My one and only niggle was because we were all inclusive we were served all our drinks in plastic cups, this was not a problem in the day, but in the evening it would have been night to have our wine in glasses. This place is definatly worth going to, i hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Stayed at the Binimar on All Inclusive basis from 20th May - 27th May 2010, 2 adults 1 infant (22months). Booked with Travel Republic cost £570 inc. flights for all!! (not including transfers, used resorthoppa.com £53). Temp in mid 30's unusual for this time of year.

LOCATION: Near to bars, resturants, waterpark, bus stop. About 30-45mins from airport. Bus to Ciduidella cost 1.45€ each way and was 20mins away. The beach mentioned in the brochers is a cove, steep steps go down from the back of the complex, or if you have a pram/buggy there is a easier access from the strip (across the road from pub called Jimmy Hill's other sides of dumpsters), very nice and quite, sunbeds are expensive to hire as is the bar/shop, does have portaloos. Little road train that goes around the area stops around the complex at the cost of 5€ per adult for a day ticket, lasts 45-60mins for round trip, worth going to see whats around, it also takes you to a proper beach in Cala Bosch.

ROOM: Spacious, had a living/dining area with 2ring hob, microwave, kettle and toaster plus enough cutlery and crockery, dining table and chairs. Bedroom with 2single beds pushed together, wardrobe, cot. Bathroom with bath and shower. Cleaned x2 a week. Balcony table and chairs. Door doesn't seem to lock from inside but it does, you are able to child proof the lock but it is a bit tricky, found that a dining chair does the job. A lot of rooms are upstairs (with no lift) if this is an issue you need to request a downstairs room.

POOLS: Choice of 3, 1st quiet with small kids area, 2nd by the stage and bar where the activities tends to happen, 3rd kids pool in enclosed area.

DINING ROOM: Good varity of food suitable for everyone, breakfast included cooked breakfast, selection of cerials, fruit and yogurts, lunch and dinner included salad bar with plain rice and pasta etc, hot food comprimising of chips, potatoes, meat and fish dishes, rice and pasta dishes and a chef prepared fresh food in one section where usually you had two different pasta dishes, grilled meat/fish and grilled veg for lunch and dinner then breakfast time the chef cooked pancakes and fried eggs. Could have been warmer on occassions but there was a microwave if you wanted to warm your food up. Plenty of high chairs. Some queues occassionally however they moved quickly never waited more than 3-4mins.

BAR: Very good and quick service. A massive varity of drinks available on AI inc. cocktails and spirits, milkshakes and slushes, wines and beers. Only downfall drinks were always served in plastic cups. Only the main bar was always open a second bar occassionally opened on busier nights.

ENTERTAINMENT: Brilliant, the team didn't stop from morning till night, day activities included all kinds of games e.g. football, bowls, archery, tennis, killer pool, killer darts, gladiators, t-shirt painting, head 2 head challenges and many more for adults and kids. Certificates and medals for the winners presented after the kids disco which started at 8pm, you then had a nightly bingo game which had a good jackpot 200€+ then at 10pm adult entertainment started, some nights it was better than others but always fun, in our week we had a parrot show, ABBA, Diva Tribute act, Robbie Williams and on other nights the entertainment team provided entertainments of all sorts! They worked very hard and made a fuss of every child.

CLEANLINESS: Bins everywhere, not once did i see any rubbish any where!! Pools were cleaned every morning and tested.

RECEPTION: Didn't use much of their services. Staff were plesent enough. Checked in very quickly and was provided with complex map, area map and a few leaflets. They had a lot of information available e.g. bus time tables and trips available. Safety deposit boxes (in room) costs 21€per week. Check out time 12md, luggage room plus shower rooms avialable for a key deposit of 3€ .

KIDS PARK: Brilliant facility, sandy floor to play with your bucket and spades, climbing frames and slides, wendy house, si-saws all enclosed with locked gates with a creche facility and kids club at the back.

NON AI OPTIONS: On the complex there was a resturant that seemed to serve all kinds plus takeaways e.g. pizza, chips etc, small supermarket that sold everthing from sweets to shampoo, bike hire, pool tables, tennis court, air hockey table, loads of kids rides that cost 1€ a go and hardly have a sound, and goodie machines. They also had daily visits from a suncare advisor who sells lotions

Would definetly go back to the Binimar and wouldn't contimplate not going all inclusive as Menorca is as expensive as the UK. Don't know if I would go peak season as it seemed pretty packed in May. I read a lot of reviews prior to the holiday and was very apprehensive, i hope you feel that my review is helpfull as I have tried to include everything as truthfull as I can. Please take into consideration what we paid, for that price I would recommend to anyone!

Enjoy your hols!!

I would not recomend this hotel for a couple or to go All-inclusive the food was the same everyday, there was no varitey. You que for nearly 30 mins to get into the resturant. If you are a non-smoker it is not a good idea to sit for evening entertainment as you are undercover and breath in the fumes.

"Binimar Apartments - Ok for the price"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Good

Open quote

We've just got back from a week at the Binimar. Like the previous review, we also wouldn't really recommend it for couples. We're in our late 20's/early 30's and it was clear to us that we were a very small minority, with most being families with young children. The hotel is ideally placed for the small town and it is very nice to sunbathe around the three pools, the sunbeds were comfy and we never had a problem getting a couple of beds to use. The shop on site is also very well stocked and we always used it for newspapers etc every day and snacks etc. The entertainment team were also fantastic - they really work hard to make sure that everyone has a great time and the nightly entertainment was good with lots of activities also going on through the day. The food wasn't so great - it was ok but there wasn't always a great deal of choice and wasn't good quality (some of the meat was really tough, chewy and inedible). But for the price of the holiday, it was alright. The staff in there worked very hard and cleared tables extremely fast. By the end of our week the queue for meals (the hotel was nowhere near full at the beginning of the week, however by the end it must have been near full) was ridiculous - the queue was at least 45 minutes wait if not longer (the queue was up the stairs, through reception and outside by the time we got there at eight!)- it was quite clear that the dining hall at the hotel is nowhere near big enough for the number of people staying. We decided in the end to leave the queue and then nip back five mins before it closed for tea but then there wasn't much left. As for the drinks - they say that the cola is coca-cola and at meals it is, however order one at the bar and it certainly wasn't - it was a cheap imitation. Finally the rooms - no tv in the apartments which was a bit of a letdown and also we had to buy extra toilet rolls as there were nowhere near enough supplied for the week. The room was only visited three times during our whole stay and sheets on the bed weren't changed at all, towels were only changed once. Apartments were of a nice size for the two of us and have a safe which we got for 21 euros (and an extra 10 euro deposit) All in all, we definitely got value for our money but i think next time we'll spend more for a hotel more suited to couples with nicer food and drink. If we do go back to the binimar, it would be on a self catering basis as it did provide a very good base to sunbathe and visit the little town.

Myself my son and my mother are just back from the Binimar Resort, Cala'n Forcat. What a wonderful holiday we had. I can't understand the moaners on here that winge about the food and the accomodation. I myself am rather a fussy eater when it comes to food quality and found the food to be perfectly acceptable. Lots to choose from. The appartments were fine although yes a bit draughty because it was cool & windy at night. But the staff were very helpful and delivered extra duvets within minutes of asking and there was a portable heater in our appartment. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the entertainment staff were just wonderful. What a laugh. Rooms were cleaned and towels changed every 2nd day. The maids were great.

The apartments are basic but comfortable and cleaned every other day, they dont have air con which could be a problem in the height of summer, however we went in september so was fine. The hotel has a really good entertainments programme and the animation team work hard keeping the kids amused aswell as the adults.hotel staff were friendly and informative. Three large pools so especially good if youre all inclusive as you can vary your days. The only downside to being all inclusive at the hotel was that all meals and snacks were served in one restaurant, would have been nice to have an outdooor snack bar, having said that the food was excellent! would definitely go back.

"Not for Couples"

This is a place for families. I think it is wrong to advertise it for all couples. We are in our 60's and to be honest we had enough of screeming children by the end of the week. Please don't think we are anti children we are not but this place was not for us. The food was ok, a little boring but hay we did not starve. Nice salad bar. The Staff were a strange bunch, with it being a mainly AI Hotel the staff are not really interested anyway, but a smile occaisionally would not have gone a miss. When ever you went to the reception to order/find out about anything they seemed to try and talk you out of what you wanted to do, to keep you in the hotel. The apartment was ok a little run down and needed some work on it. We were told that they are going to update them all. Would I recommend this hotel? Only to families not to couples.

These apartments were very nice for the price we paid. The resort was like a village style complex inlcuding three main pools. It had a bit to do around, inlcuding a local close shop which you could food from incase you was self catering. Or there was a nice Grill restrurant and a wine bar on sight, which both served very nice food. The rooms were very nice, as we were self catering we had a kitchen section, a seating areas, the bedroom and then the bathroom. Also we had a nice balcony with nice secenary so we could sit out on a evening and have a drink. I couldnt fault the rooms they had everything i needed in them and everything was in good working order. The maid was very nice and visited the room twice while we were there in a week. The holiday was a very last minute cheap one so didnt expect much for my money so when i was presented with this hotel i was very happy. It was in a good location as well about a 10 minute walk from the main centre were you could go to bars, clubs and resturants

"Where is my Teddy"

Overall Hotel Rating:

We returned, last week after spending a really enjoyable week at the Binimar, our room was right outside pool no. 2 so we were awoke at approx 5am by the "early birds" putting their towels on the sunbeds, so as we were awake, we done the same. We found the hotel and the resort to be ideal for thoses people with children wanting a relaxing holiday the area is very child friendly and our 2 kids had a great time (7 & 4). We did manage to leave our 4 year olds favourite teddy in the room (293) and we phoned the hotel half hour after returning but he wasn't found, maybe he had been picked up and sent to the laundry - they said, we emailed and phoned numerous times but we haven't had any word from the hotel, we might go back next year and I wouldn't be suprised to see "Pirate Jack" laying on a sunbed, waiting for the Booms Disco to start.

The apartments are well spaced out around the pools and other facilities. The balconies are very nice to relax in the evenings after a long day at the beach. Our apartment had a very smelly bathroom, which did not improve after a week and 3 bottles of bleach! Apart from the continuous visits from red ants (they ate my duty free white toblerone!) the apartment was nice and spacious with room to eat at the table in the living area. The maintainance man was very prompt in fixing a couple of lights that were not working and the toilet that kept filling up. There was no kettle and the toaster kept tripping the electric! One these things were sorted, the rest of the holiday was fine. In all, it was a reasonable place to spend the week.

We have just returned from a Fortnights stay at the Binimar and had a fantastic time. The apartment was big enough for 2 adults and 2 young children and although it was not sparkling clean, it was clean enough. The site is very well maintained and very clean throughout. Our children absolutely loved it with plenty of choice from the 3 swimming pools, and the childrens discos and activities. The weather was just nice - not too hot - and the flights only just over 2 hours long. The nearby town of CalaForcat is excellent and very family orientated. There were plenty of play places to choose from for the children and 'Molligans' at 'Dominique Plaza' was the best play place/bar that was in the shade. The nearby beach was not great - but we are not a big fan of beaches anyway as find it too hot for the children. TopMarkets supermarket was great and very well stocked and huge. We will definately be returning at some point.

Overall Hotel Rating:

Hotel is excellent. Very spacious and clean!

Good location and plenty of things to do!

The entertainment was varied unlike other Spanish hotels I have been to! They understand that not everyone wants to watch magicians and spanish guitars every night so they do tend to cater for everyone i.e. Quiz Nights, Karaoke, Rep Shows etc. However, there is plenty of areas in the hotel where you can relax if you dont want to watch the provided entertainment!

The pools are lovely and very well maintained!

The reception area was very nice and the marble floors were lovely on the feet after a day of walking around!
