Hotel Port Ciutadella Reviews

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by a building site. The pictures on the website are very misleading. We arrived late at night on a very hot day to find there was no air conditioning in use inthe reception area. We had paid for a sea view room so imagine our surprise when we woke the next morning to find we were ovelooking a childs play area in the street opposite. We did indeed have a sea view but the hotel is so set back most of the scenary is of parked cars & roads before you reach the sea. The room is very narrow and resembles a large corridor. The doors out to the balcony squeak every time they are opened/closed. Not only our room but both neighbouring rooms as well. Every time someone in the next room opens or closes a drawer it can be heard in your room. The fridge is placed next to the bed and clicks on and off all night, so all in all not a peaceful place to stay. The breakfast was adequate but not good. The fruit juices were warm and so thin we think they had been watered down. The selection of fruit consisted of either a wafer thin slice of pineapple or a small slice of not quite ripe melon. All other fruit was tinned. Staff in the restaurant were very lethargic and any missing items were not replenished very quickly. We always stay in 4 star hotels and usually more than satisfied but alas not on this occasion.

Just stayed at this hotel , overall its very nice and a bit more "upmarket". A pleasant stroll into town takes about 15 mins and Ciutadella is a small but charming place . The hotel seems new and although we booked a standard room we were given a suite - yipee !!!!!! The furnishings are modern and clean. There is a pleasant little bar , nice swimming pool , but very little for children ( which was fine by us ) so mainly couples . We went half board which was ok , lots of choice but it reminded me of school dinners . The salad bar however was plentiful and being veggies it suited us very well . Its a buffet so you can have lots if you want . Breakfast again a fair choice but being critical I would say the coffee ( from one of those dratted machines ) was not very nice - especially as you know they can do proper coffees upstairs in the bar , also the fruit juice was naff - tasted like liquid sugar . I suspect theyve been trying to cut corners a bit . On the plus side there was always a bottle of cava at breakfast ! Overall we would stay again and can recommend it , but would probably go on a b&b basis next time .

We have just returned from a fantastic week here. This hotel is great. It is immaculate - I challenge anyone to find anything not clean and perfect! The staff were so friendly and helpful. The pool outside was great with plenty of comfy sunbeds and parasols - The indoor spa was so luxurious - We all loved the powerful water jets into the pool and the variety of massaging showers.
The rooms were very luxurious with comfy beds and nice pillows.
The walk into Ciutadella takes exactly 7 minutes the quick way, or if you go around the harbour it does take 20 minutes, but it is a beautiful walk.

The best thing about this hotel was that there was only 3 other english couples there - How lovely it was to be in a hotel that was not mobbed by Brits.(Long may it stay like that) Lots of Spanish and Portugese people.

Breakfasts were great and plenty of choice. I cannot comment on the evening meal at the hotel as we never had one. Who wants to eat at the Hotel when you have 20 or more fantastic restaurants overlooking the harbour?

This Hotel will not disappoint, unless you like night clubs, English pubs and fry ups, in which case do not go here.

Whilst the Hotel Port Ciutadella is well run with excellent staff in all departments, comfortable bedrooms etc it is a long way (20 minute walk) from the historical town centre and harbour. There is little of interest near to the hotel except for the several building sites very nearby. There is an excellent pool, and an heated indoor pool as well. The buffet evening meals were somewhat disappointing - not really of 4**** quality. In a few years time when all the building sites are completed the area might well be very nice - we should live so long
