"Nothing there!"
Overall Resort Rating:
The area of Sa Caleta is very poor - there is a 'shopping centre' just round the corner which comprises of a restaurant (very poor food and very expensive) an Irish Bar, a Chinese Restaurant and a shop selling tourist tat. You really need to get on the bus and go into another resort to get a decent meal anywhere - however beware the port in ciutadella, lined with restaurants which look nice but are very expensive and if you go for the set menu are extremely disappointing! Over all I found Menorca to be very expensive - even allowing for the rate of the euro to £ at the moment - Greece in June a lot cheaper. Sun beds were €6 each on the beaches - I paid €6 for 2 with a brolly in Zante! Would only recommend this place to families with young children who want kids entertainment laid on so they can sit by the pool and chill out and are not particularly interested in eating Menorcan style! My second unsuccessful trip to Menorca - will not return!

"BORING"
Overall Resort Rating:
Absolutely nothing to do. We like to walk around at night visit bars etc look in the shops. Sa caleta had 1 shop a couple of restuarants and bars, 2 supermarkets. The beach was as small as a sandpit and stunk. Would definately not go back as nothing to do.

"Lovely but quiet"
Overall Resort Rating:
The resort was quiet but there was a regular bus service which took you to nearby towns which were a bit busier. There are a few places to eat nearby which were really nice. The beach was lovely and nice and private.

"Beautiful, clean and classy"
Overall Resort Rating:
Sa caleta is very quiet even for Menorca. But there are enough restaurants and bars for the week we were there. Some of the locations (Sa Nacra) where you can feed the fish and dive in the water make up for the fairly limited menus. If you like fish then you are in the right place but food prices are fairly pricey. Go to Cuitedella on the bus and have a good look around , it's busy has a great atmosphere and there are plenty of places to eat and drink. Don't be put off by the smell on the small beach at Sa caleta it is sulphur from the rocks, the beach has a blue flag and the water is crystal clear as it is on the next beach round the cove at Playa Santandria

"Very quiet and expensive!"
Overall Resort Rating:
We went self catering which I’m glad about because the food didn’t look great and a few people complained. However, outside of the apartment complex there is absolutely nothing! Three restaurants and two bars I think. It’s very quiet which wasn’t for me. Also I found food and drink prices VERY expensive. Luckily the bus service is great and we mostly spent our time in cala’n bosch and other resorts. We also hired a car for one day and explored the island which is well worth doing. I found Cala’n Forcat was great for kids – lots to do.
I highly recommend Sa Nacra restaurant which you get to by coming out of the apartments, turning right and walking for 10 minutes. You are right on the water front and the food, staff and prices were great. I recommend Sa Caleta if you are looking for a very quiet holiday or are prepared to get on the bus every day. If you don’t intend to come out of the apartment complex then this is ideal. Next time I want to stay in Cala’n Forcat. We did have a fantastic holiday though and my daughter was well catered for which is what I wanted. Menorca is a beautiful island, very laid back but also very expensive!

"Lovely Sa Caleta"
Overall Resort Rating:
Quiet area, if you want a busier time of things then go to one of the larger resorts. This was a perfect resrt that allowed you to you this the local bus service to get around or as we did, walk. Several shops locally, bowling alley, pool tables in every bar or outside each rest.

"Out & ABout"
Overall Resort Rating:
Although Menorca was lovely it was very expensive to eat out so therefore we spent most of our time eating at the hotel as this was very good value for money with eat as much as you like and drink (including wine) for thirteen euros!

"Total Chillout."
Overall Resort Rating:
Relaxed and quiet, lovely beach and interesting sights. The beach lover or keen walker will love it here. Five mins on the bus will take you to the main town of Ciutadella or ten mins to the hustle and bustle of Calan bosch. Both with loads of restaurants and nightlife.

"Sa Caleta resort"
Overall Resort Rating:
The beach is literally next to the hotel, down some steps and across an old stream (not running with water - but dried up). The beach was small but plenty big enough, it didn't get busy down there anyway and the sand was nice, there was a bit of seaweed, and one day we had jellyfish - don't swim - but overall the beach was clear and lovely and very shallow for the kids.
The resort was very small but too small for us really so we got the bus to Cala an Bosch regulary and into Cituadella. There are 4 restaurants at Sa Caleta and all very nice but if you want a bit of variety try Cala an Bosch. The buses ran frequently and were really friendly and cheap, better than getting a car.
We did find Menorca to be a bit expensive, and could have easily spent loads of money, but we were careful, and still had a wonderful holiday.
We would definetly recommend Sa Caleta Playa Apartments if you want a quiet holiday base, but personnly would have preferred to be in a larger resort.

"Very quiet nothing to do!"
Overall Resort Rating:
This resort is the weidest resort I have ever been to. It is more like a residential area than a holiday resort there are no hotels near the Blanc Palace its all villas. There are 3 restaurants, 1 bar & 1 souvenir shop in Sa Caleta. If you want more life you need to take a bus to Ciutedella or Cala n Bosch.
However the beach is very nice.

"Sa Caleta"
Overall Resort Rating:
Sa Caleta is very nice.- Quiet, safe and clean. No chavs.
Probably too quiet for a lot of people though, but fine if you do your research and know that before you go.
Beach - is a cove like a lot of the beaches in Menorca and is at the end of the Sa Caleta Playa apts. Clean and shallow. Didnt spot jelly fish, but little fish swim round you feet!
Shops - 1 small supermarket on Sa Caleta playa apts has jars of baby food and nappies and beer. Another bigger one at the other end of the resort opposite the prinsotel (i think). There is a a fairly big gift shop. Massive Diskont superstore 20 mins walk away. Sells baby milk powder.
Restaurants / bars- Commercial centre has 2 bars and 3 restaurants. One has a bouncy castle selection that the kids can paly on whilst you drink/eat! There is a bar with a bowling alley underneath a little bit further down the road. In the other direction is a cool bar/cafe in the side of the cliff with fish swimming around just below where you eat- not ideal for kids, but ok if you dont let them run round unsupervised.
Cala Blanca is the closest resort which you can walk to, but we needed a cab back! Has about 3 times as many shops / bars / cafes.
Ciutadella (big old capital) is 3 km away.
Buses / taxis- Fantastic bus service- cheap new buses always on time. E1.40 mainly. However, we always got a taxi. E5.60 (£4.50)or E7 at the weekend / BH to Ciutadella. Loads to see/do/eat there. Taxi drivers really helpful, always had completely empty boot to throw 2 prams and bags in. No kid seats, but they drive really slow and sedately and the roads are empty. There is usually one waiting at the commercial centre.
Tip- taxi fares appear to be the same as 4 bus fares, so if you have 4 of you its probably worth a cab.
Costs- Sa Caleta is fairly expensive at the moment. Its probably not cheap usually, but the poor exchange rate doesn't help.
Small beer E1.40 - E1.90 Main course in restaurant approx E8-12 Pizza approx E6-7
