S'algar Hotel Reviews

S'algar is a purpose built resort with very little to do however car hire is reasonable and taxis are too. There is no beach but we had a lovely time in nearby Binebeca.

As we went self catering our plan was to get out and see more of the Island, s'Algar is good for a week but maybe not two weeks. We hired a car and planned getting out to see this wonderful island.

s'Algar is quiet, has about eight different places to eat at, and a few more to drink at, including a chinese, and has over the years become even quieter. We were informed the euro is partly to blame as it is making menorca even more expensive to stay at. If you would like a holiday just relaxing and not wanting to do much then this is ideal, if though you are after late nights and partying this is most certainly not the place.

We used the resort as a base and explored te surrounding areas, which is almost the whole island as you can get from one end to the other in around 50 minutes. The nights we did stay, were down to Dinkys bar or Reina Isobel for a drink or two and then walk back up the hill for a sit down by the pool, before retiring to bed.

We will go back again and have mentioned about the possibility of purchasing a property in s'Algar (only stumbling block being finances, but when did that ever stop us) and as we feel, it is an ideal place to enjoy the sun by the day and not be kept up by late night bars throughout the darker hours, s'Algar is something that we don't want to shout about too loud, as this would almost ruin a nice place.
