We stayed October half term and were dissappointed when the childrens club entertainer went home after 3 days!!!
I tried not to expect too much as we only paid £650 plus flights for a family of 4 for 1 week but:
- The hotel could benefit form a general updating and an damn good clean. - The floors in the room were NEVER cleaned our feet were dirtier walking around inside our room that outside! - The location was too near the very busy through road the noise from it was so unbearable we found it difficult to sleep. - Drinks were out of plastic cups even in the evening. - Staff were rude to the children and even to adults on occasion and I couldn't recommend this hotel.
On the plus side food was actually quite nice.
Go elsewhere for the sake of an extra £100 per week its not worth the hastle - I wish I had and thats something I've NEVER said before.

This hotel escaped the tv series hotels from after speaking to the expats in the area they couldnot understand why this hotel was not on the show they listed this as 1 of 5 hotels as a no no.I have stayed in at least ten hotels on an all inclusive basis so you do get accustomed to certain bugbears ie same food entertainment plastic cups moody staff etc. But this place is really something else all the above plus cockroaches in there many poor lack of basic cleanliness and maintainance and if you have young children like i have be warned they could be staying next door to groups of single lads or girls with no respect for the fact you have children and the hotel themselves are not bothered they will just bunch you all together . So please be warned in my opinion a 1 2 star hotel the worst by far i have stayed in

A new promenade has recently been completed which has resulted in the bus service being changed and now it does not run around the west area of Las Americas. This means that if you want to go out, you have to climb the hill up to the bus station, from where you get a bus almost anywhere on the island. The free buses for the various parks, zoos etc do not run down to that area anymore either so you could feel a bit out on a limb. However, there are hundreds of restaurants etc along the seafront. The tourist office is on the seafront.

We have been staying at the PBC for about 6 years, always in November. It is currently being refurbished and this is nearing completion (2008). Sunbeds are always a problem but only with certain people. The only problem we encountered was that the breakfasts were always cold. The staff are wonderful and the service is excellent. We had a problem with our cistern, which was sorted out immediately. The hotel itself is on the seafront and if you don't ever want to climb a hill, then you don't have to so it's ideal for people with aches and pains. Since the new promenade has been completed, the free buses for the attractions do not come down to PBC anymore which is a great shame, neither do public buses, you have to go up quite a steep hill to get to the bus station. This is not the fault of the hotel, it's just unfortunate.

We love all parts of Playa De Las Americas when we came last year. Eating out is part of the attraction. This was again fantastic apart from when we ate "English" where we were abused when we compained when finding a snail in our food. I would recommend avoiding La Boca restaurant!! The new water park - Siam Park looked like a must. We also enjoyed Jungle Park - which was a suprise as we only booked it as part of a deal.

Green Golf Hotel is a wonderful oasis on the edge of Playa de las Americas, the staff and hotel are everything you could want. I would think it may become overcrowded in high season, at any other time I would recommend it highly. The weather is beautiful - we went in late October. This is a great time to bask in the sun reading weather reports of ice and rain in Britain. The only criticism of the Hotel would be is having to walk into Town past the "ladies of the night" followed by the Taxi drivers who make up the amount charged to get back to the resort. These varied by upto 100% so be ready for double the last taxi ride! Maybe a later pick up time for the Courtesy bus would be recommended?
Playa Paraiso is very small and hilly. Not very pretty and only a few bars.

Very good all inclusive hotel set in extensive grounds. Hotel is on a slope and not suitable for people with walking difficulties. Food is very god but repeats every week. Entertainment is on a par with most hotels in Tenerife- mediocre and because of isolated position you are stuck unless you spend $15 on a taxi. Hotel grounds and three pools are magnificent although short on parasols. Hotel is more suitable to families and older people young persons would probably be bored. Very good system of supplying drinks... help yourself! All in all an excellent hotel with good staff sure of a good holiday.
The resort seems fine - a real mix of really downmarket and really quiet nice so something for everyone I guess. Lots of British influence which is a shame, and not nearly enough Tapas bars etc. But if its sun, sand and sangria you want then its got it all.

The rooms are ok (although some have baths that are so set back in an alcove that the only way to turn on the water is to be stood in the bath (not great if the bath has been running 10 minutes and is way too hot!!)
The main issue I had was the food. The hotel offers a large hot buffet style evening meal service with masses of choice - except none of it was vegetarian. It wouldnt have killed them to make sure there was always a pasta sauce or other such dish for people who dont eat meat but no. The thing is that everyone else would have been able to eat a plain tomato sauce or creamy sauce, and if wanted, put some meat with it. Instead, every night I had to tolerate plain pasta with a little grated cheese on top. Even many of the salads and vegetables had bits of meat in. On one occasion I was even told 3 times that a dish was vegetarian when I could see it had ham in it.
The holiday had been bought for me so I didnt feel I could make a scene and complain but I would never go back to that hotel and I advise anyone with either dietary or religious eating requirements to carefully consider it.

we stayed for 1 week in november. arrived at 9-00pm, the reception told us to get some food from the restaurant as it closed at 9-30, almost everything was cold as we found to be the problem nearly all week although there was a good choice of food. 200+ guests and only 70 - 80 seats, needs sorting as you have to wait up to 30 mins. for a table. the advert for this hotel was for more mature people, well they should say for the over-ripe and german. we found the head waiter a bully and very ignorant towards the few english there. the cleanliness of the hotel could not be faulted and maid service of high standard. the grounds are superb and well kept. free bus service into de la cruz was spot on. town itself very clean. weather 70+f all week. missed the welcome meeting and never saw a rep once all week. would not go back to this hotel if they gave me a free week with spending money.
The location is ok, the area is quite respectable but you need a car to get around, there is a rocky beach, a corner shop and some places to eat near by, we went round the whole island in a day by car.

Good points:
Space in and outside Privacy Clean and tidy Plenty of hot water inside Quiet location BBQ
Bad Points
MAIN one is that Pool has was not heated for more than a couple of hours a day, it was not heated to a high enough temp around 26deg C, when mentioned to the owner/manager he went psyco and we soon discovered that the heating seemed to have been turned off totally - not nice. The cold pool spoiled the holiday as you could only go in for a short period of risk becoming uncomfortably cool and we wanted to swim at night, Also the water was murky, I wonder if someone was naffed off and put something in before they left? Beds hard but this seems to be common in Spain No light in BBQ so bring torch if you want a BBQ in the evening You need a car if you want to do anything other than stay in all the time
