well, we arrived to find a decent holiday apartment with ample room for six. a little dated but ok for a fortnight.

the complex was probably lovely some years ago but has poor maintenance due to the fact that there are more residents than tourists. at a weekend the spanish invade and there is no room in or around the pool as they bring their extended famillies for the weekend, sometimes 20 to an apartment, add to that the lack of security, the open use of the pool by all of the local famillies outside the complex and you start to get a picture.
the pool bar is run by a very nice dutchman and yes it is somewhat overpriced (more than double) compared to the prices you find some 30 meters away outside the complex. the food is ok but served in/on cheap plastic cups and plates.

then we have the harvester, overpriced and poor service in the restaurant. watch out for the extras not shown on the menu??? mine came to 60 euros more than it should for six, a mistake they said???

the compere is superb which makes up for the poor quality acts booked by this struggling bar. again overpriced by more than double some of the bars just outside the complex. just a word of warning, the owner and his wife are okay til around one o'clock when the drink turns them nasty. this non child friendly bar is worth avoiding at all costs. all they do is sit and drink and pick at their staff which makes this an unpleasent place to be.
we found that just by walking out we saved 50 euro per night and enjoyed it a great deal more.

alondras park again?? for the price yes, for the amenities no, and for the on site bar and restaurant, who actually tried to have a couple arrested for not drinking up 5 minutes after they were served a 30 euro round for all the staff and themselves at 1245pm, i would rather eat my kids!!!!

poor apartment, poor shower, poor maintenance, poor bar service, expensive restaurant, real bad attitudes plus expensive prices equals no customers.
most apartments are now empty or run as weekend retreats for santa cruz famillies.

go somewhere else, this is poor all around.

we heard stories about the place but had already booked, if we had known we would have stayed in beirut for less agro and more sleep, the spanish residents stay out drinking AND PLAYING CARDS TIL 3 OR 4 IN THE MORN.

we had people telling us to stay away from the harvester, we thought, give it a go, god we were wrong, attrocious service with poor quality overpriced food. stay in england

This was an allocated on arrival accomodation, and on arrival we were quite dissapointed, but as we had arrived at midnight we couldn't really see much,when we got up the next morning and had a look around, it seemed ok, the apartement was a fair size,very basic, with the bedrooms on an upper floor, it was very clean, the only gripe we had is that we didnt see a cleaner for the whole week.

We had inteded on having a chill out holiday, and that was exactly what we got, the pool area was nice and quiet,the 3 pools were very clean, the bar was open from midday until five and the staff were very freindly, the resort itself was quiet, with a few bars and restaurants close by, but we enjoyed ourselves, the Harvester Grill restaurant which was on site was very nice and the prices were very good, and again the staff were very freindly and made you feel very welcome.

All in all we had an excellent time ands would definately go back to Costa del Silencio, and the Alondras Park.

We went to Tenerife on a AOA basis, as we booked last minute. This was a very dissappointing place to end up in. The appartments at Alondis Park was very basic but clean. The rooms have very cheap furniture with a kitchen that was impossible in to self cater in as half the work tops were damaged. Two single beds that were so rickety that we ended up putting the mattresses on the floor so as to get some sleep (the maids made up our bedding on the floor all week). Be carefull around the complex for damaged tiles that jut out. Only the very brave will venture into the bigger pool as this was the coldest pool we have ever come across.

Buses to Los Cristanos are cheap enough. But Taxis can cost you a fortune to come back in.

Resort bars and resturaunts are not the best, but if you like bingo then this is your mecca. The Sports Bar was quite good.
