Los Gigantes was just right for us – a pleasant mix of nice bars and restaurants in one of the most spectacular settings we have stayed in. Across from El Sombrero is Tipsy Terrace, which is a bistro next to the tennis courts and is good for a drink or a romantic candlelit dinner – but it is advisable to book as the one night we fancied eating dinner there it was full. Further down the main road is the wine bar at the harbour club, which is situated on a terrace with a lovely view over the sea. The food is good and plentiful and they provide some kind of entertainment most evenings – they show sporting events on a big screen but that is indoors so it doesn’t bother diners who are not into soccer etc. Most places do the obligatory full English breakfast but some do offer alternatives such as Tipsy Terrace and The Calypso bar, which does porridge, cereals and the tastiest kippers I have ever tried. Across from Ocean Drive and Calypso bar is Little Italy – looks nice from the outside but be warned I would avoid this place like the plague. I have never experienced such rude service and poor attempt at “Italian” food in all my life – I could rant on for pages about our dreadful experience but if this feedback stops just one person eating there then I will be pleased. There is pleasant walk round to Peurto Santigio and Playa d’Arena and we went a few nights and in Peurto Santiago we would recommend El Pescador 2 for lovely food and friendly service and Route 66 for entertainment – particularly Old Dogs New Tricks who were excellent but be early to get a seat as it was packed when we went. A little bit further on if you follow the path by the sea there is a terrace bar called Fisherman’s Inn overlooking the small cove / beach. We had the nicest lunch their all week despite the regular chef being off ill. Little Italy excepted, this was a marvellous holiday in a resort where I think I will be returning to a many times in the future.

Just returned from a week’s holiday in Los Gigantes staying at the El Sombrero apartments and had an excellent time. We were a bit apprehensive as the reports had described the accommodation as basic but we were pleasantly surprised to find them very spacio...

Beautiful, clean, upmarket resort. A few shops, restaurants and bars. Would recommend El Pescador and La Terrazza restaurants. Avoid The Harbour Club Wine Bar in the evening - rude, incompetent English waitresses. Great Spanish waiters during the day. Do the trips to Teide and Icod de los Vinos, Garrachico and Masca. Tenerife is beautiful.

The apartments are excellent. We had booked a studio and were given a spacious one-bedroom apartment with lovely views of the sea, La Gomera and the spectacular cliffs. The pool area is small but we were always able to find a lounger. Didn't eat there so ca...

"Hotel Los Gigantes"

Although this is a really small resort, we would consider going back sometime but maybe self catering - not because we didn't like the hotel, but that we know where the good restaurants are.

OverallVery Good Hotel

We had a lovely time here this summer, and the building work did not bother us too much...we used the other pool.

The hotel food was great, plentiful and always hot, although a few more carvery meats and tasty seafoods would have been a bonus. The st...
