"excellent holiday, great food and super "
Overall Resort Rating:
There was organised entertainment and competitions everyday, archery, pool table tennis french boules water polo, darts shooting to name a few.... when we went to comment in the visitors book, it was choc-a-block with praise, many visitors stating they had been many times before and would be returning.. We love tenerife, and found this hotel (which is situated just behind the Safari retail area in Los Christianos, than Las Americas) to be one of the very best.. we would not hesitate to return here.. very central.

"It's what you want it to be!"
Overall Resort Rating:
The title of this review says it all! There are more resteraunts/bars per mile here than anywhere else. The food is always of a high standard as competition is rife and by looking around you can work out who does what cheaper than others. The majority seem to serve meat based meals with Steak Houses and Italian restaurants being the most common. Don't just stick to the main strip as great food and atmosphere can be found in the back streets (where we found the cheapest drinks were to be had; only €1-1.50 a pint compared to €3-3.50). Some have deals on such as 'kids half price' or 'free bottle of wine with the meal' so as said look around! Staying at Parque Santiago lV you have the advantage of being close enough to walk to the night life of 'Veronicas Strip' for the night clubs if that's your thing or to Los Christianos for fantastic Sea food and Tapas as well as the harbour yet far enough away just to laze away the day getting your tan. The shopping centre under the road on the 'Strip' comes alive at night and the 'Bazaar' shops above have pretty much anything you could want but again go walkies to find some of the same things allot cheaper and remember to 'Haggle' for that all important purchase (Even in the shops!) as this is expected! Have fun with the 'LOOKIE-LOOKIE's' who try to sell you sunglasses even if your wearing them along with bangles, watches and various 'L.E.D.' based toys to play with! There are many excursions to do from 'Jungle Park' to 'Boat rides' to keep you occupied (look out for '2 for 1' offers on major attractions and 'Haggle' for the boat trips/water activities)! Most bars/resteraunts have some sort of entertainment/Caberett to speak of in an evening with the best turns usually in the 'English' sections such as 'The Corner Bar' at the back of Santiago V which is about 5 mins from lV. As said it's what you want it to be and if like us you'll count down the days until you can return!

"Playa de las Americas"
Overall Resort Rating:
Lovely resort is Playa de las Americas, loads of good bars for the evening if you go outside your apartments (we did three times in two weeks). Good beach too though not too keen on the dark sand, the kids didn’t mind though.

"Affordable holiday - Las Americas"
Overall Resort Rating:
Las Americas is located in south of island. It is half an hour away from airport. Las americas also has europe's biggest water park called Siam Park. A truly amazing place to enjoy. There are plenty of beaches around town, litrelly one every five minutes walk. Resturants are abit expensive compared to UK holiday destinations. But then again there are supermarkets every where you can buy cheap junk food. An affordable way to have snacks in Tenerife. Nightlife isnt all that what I expected. There are only 5-6 bars around the town near the beach. Hence not good if you are looking to enjoy night life.

"The potters 2010 summer vacation"
Overall Resort Rating:
The resort area is your typical tourist beach type location. Lots to do, lots to see and lots of tourist attractions - including the inevitable annoying people touting for your money on trips, local bars & restaurants. The resort is a good base to get to other attractions in the immediate and distant area - Aqualand and Siam Park, along with Puerto Colon for boat trips to see whales, scuba diving etc. Beaches were good, taxis all quite reasonable. This resort does have a reputation for the drunken party goers but if you are sensible and responsible with your children you shoukd not encounter any major hassle - in two weeks in this resort we had no trouble at all.

"Playa de las Americas"
Overall Resort Rating:
The resort is really nice, and very family orientated. Plenty of restaurants that cater to British tastes, and most are child friendly. The beach is really nice, our children really enjoyed playing on it.

"far too anglicised, shockingly quiet too"
Overall Resort Rating:
We as a young couple have found the resort shockingly disappointing for what we are seeking. It is more catered for families in our opinion and it also depends what your priorities are. If you are looking for Little Britain in the sun, with its fair mix of hooligans, porky pie tuckers showing their red bellies and 20 year old greyed out tattoos, chavs on the dole spending their "hard earned" SS's and the most "prevailessence" of the rude and arrogant, carrying their stink about them; this is for you. But even if you were one of the younger ones in those categories above, you would be disappointed. The Veronicas Strip may look great to you but their 2 drinks (watered down) for 6 euro and 2 shots are ridiculous, you could spend all night drinking those and still b sober and they are only designed to rip you off at the end of the night, + we have been in places with better offers where they load their drinks more for you. There is no things like "happy hours" anywhere and there is NO FOAM PARTIES!!! Wtf??
There is only one available in the resort which sets you back 40 euro and it's miles away on a bus (san miguel castle), and the party lasts only 3 hours, tell us this when we are used to being in around the clock foam parties, what a joke. On top of this, most bars are shut by 6am, the only one open til later is Rags, but it's more like a bar, v small. The crowd in these places seem to have an attitude problem, people are not really "up for it" or friendly, and boy..do I feel pity for you if you are single man looking to pull in these places, unless you are one of those described in the categories above.
On a more positive note, the resort is v complete and has lots of bars where you can eat and drink cheaply. Around Costa Adeje you have pints of beer going for the euro (at Las Americas / Cristianos they are mostly at 1.50) and you can eat set menus for 8.5 euro with starter, main course, dessert and some even with a drink. Aberdeen Steak House does this and so many others. Full British Breakfast for only 2.5 or 3 euro. You could go Self catering and eat like a king in these places without having to resort to pot noodles. There are a number of great beaches and the promenade from Cristianos all around to Adeje is great. Siam Park is a must, but be there the earliest because it's very busy and some people miss out on lockers because they run out. The scenery in the park is great and slides like Vulcano and Naga Racer are a must, however the Tower of Power and the wave pool is a bit overrated. They all get queued up for VERY long time and you will find your sliding times are v reduced, definitely for us compared to other places with bigger parks. You will have a very extense offer of excursions and activities here. Loro Parque and Teide are also recommended by most.
We have seen the level of occupancy on this resort SHOCKINGLY LOW. Our hotel was not even up to 40%, the two adjacent hotels around us you could see their pool areas empty all the time, and lots of empty balconies. These were hotels located on the most central area in the resort. Overall the island is more geared to families with kids. Young people looking to rave will be seriously disappointed. We wouldn't return here.

"Playa De Las Americas"
Overall Resort Rating:
The resort was very clean and the traffic calming measures made it pedestrian friendly. Our hotel was on the edge of Playa De Las Americas and away from the main night life. Beaches were ok and there was an adequate number of tourist information sites to help with getting about. Buses were good but the information at bus stops was poor. Ticket touts pestering about excursions, not time shares, were round by the beach areas.

"Playa de las Americas"
Overall Resort Rating:
We liked Playa de las Americas though we did think it was quite expensive, especially the proper clubs. The main ‘strip’ is a bit tacky, places like Linnekers are ok though.

"ok"
Overall Resort Rating:
Something for everyone, you can find a pint for 1 euro. Plauged by bar touts on the strip. Looky looky men ploite if you just say no thanks Not many time share sharks but beware , if someone stops you and says its not time share, it will be eventually. One lad even said he worked for the tourist board and abta!
