There are 3 main areas within the resort. The south side is quite refined - must sees are the dancing fountain and Piramide de Arona on Aviende las Americas. The middle section is strictly for the young party goers - a wall of sound as you pass through after 11pm. The port area at the north side of the resort has plenty of bustle with a good selection of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes.

You can't go far wrong with Playa de las Americas really, typical resort built for Brits and the like but for decent weather in winter you can't beat it. Plenty of good bars showing Eastenders etc, all you need!

We have been to Spain umpteen times over the years, but this was our first trip to Tenerife surprisingly. The resort was quite nice, we liked the excursions to the national park and volcano though. The resort did have lots of nice bars and restaurants.

Playa de las Americas is a good place to go with teenagers, as there is plenty to do. Beach is very nice, lots of arcades etc and shops. Plus lots of places showing the football, seems to be essential for a winter holiday!

Playa de las Americas was a good resort, It had loads going on, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. A great short transfer time from Tenerife South. I would definatly visit again.

great resort. visit the area near mare nostrum resort, very pretty and classy. Costa adeje also a great walk.

the beach isnt to good it isnt that far from the hotel .plenty of pubs to eat out at , and loads of clubs and bars to pick from to have a good time . this resort is more for young couples or young lads and lasses and even hen partys and stag partys.

We like Playa de las Americas, you know what you are going to get. It is a pretty safe Brit-Med type place, lots of good English bars and restaurants showing the latest Eastenders, Corrie and football. Good place to relax in the sun!

plenty of great eating places all offering fantastic food at good value, sandy beaches, English bars if needed withgood entertainment

The roads and pavements are still undergoing upgrading in the resort, at present Av del Quinto Centenario is being finished off after being made one way and the promenade walkway between the Casino and the harbour is being refurbished and is closed off in parts. The work that has already been completed around the resort has made a vast improvement in particular the one way system and wider pavements have made the resort much more pedestrian friendly.

good resort excellent bars and eating out lovely beaches i just love this place. Been here four times going back in sept 2010 check out beach front restaurants for nightly entertainment food is cheap some bars charge more for drinks than others but not much more at night. During the day be careful most bars only charge 1 euro or 1.50 euro any more than that walk away always ask first breakfast from 2- 3 euro 3 course at night 6 - 8 euro loads to do ans see any trips you want to go on dont book with holiday reps cheaper you do it in resort check out the kiosk beside lugunna park I or if you want a boat trip haggle at the sea front for the best deal. happy holidays

We preferred the area in which parque santiago apartments were situation as opposed to the central area of Las Americas.

We really like Playa de las Americas. The weather is normally pleasant when we go, though we did get really lucky this year and had some really hot days. Plenty of bars showing the rugby and football, a real home from home!
