Green Golf Hotel is a wonderful oasis on the edge of Playa de las Americas, the staff and hotel are everything you could want. I would think it may become overcrowded in high season, at any other time I would recommend it highly. The weather is beautiful - we went in late October. This is a great time to bask in the sun reading weather reports of ice and rain in Britain. The only criticism of the Hotel would be is having to walk into Town past the "ladies of the night" followed by the Taxi drivers who make up the amount charged to get back to the resort. These varied by upto 100% so be ready for double the last taxi ride! Maybe a later pick up time for the Courtesy bus would be recommended?
We love all parts of Playa De Las Americas when we came last year. Eating out is part of the attraction. This was again fantastic apart from when we ate "English" where we were abused when we compained when finding a snail in our food. I would recommend ...
This is ideal for families - the whole hotel is enclosed so if you have children it is very safe! Entertainment throughout the day and evenings both great for adults and children. Would defineatley go back

Although we had a great family holiday this was mainly due to teh hotel PDLA is mainly for young ones.

just home from spending two weeks at the green golf. Couldnt beleive it when we arrived, it was lovely. The resort and the apartments are great, room spacious and lovely furniture and comfortable if you want to spend the night in. The credit system they use works realy well as you dont have to worry about carrying cash around the resort. Used the shop for essentials and ate at the pool bar on a few occasions. Hair drier in every apartment and iron and iron board available there. Heard a couple of people complaining but could not understand what they had to complain about. Few groups of lads arrived and were making the most of thier hols but this seemed to annoy some people. All the staff very friendly and helpfull. It is a good walk down to veronicas but enjoyed getting the excercise. Prostitutes hang out along the road in the evenings and it was disgusting walking by all the used condoms (would be carefull with young kids). I will definately book to go there again
Be aware that this hotel is a good way out of the resort. If you have a car this is not a problem, but could get expensive if you rely on taxis or inconvenient if you rely on the free bus.

The staff are friendly to a fault, especially the reception staff. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped although the beds are a little on the hard side. If you are stopping in a duplex apartment, two bathrooms are provided although one only contains a shower, toilet and basin. The kitchen is well equipped with a decent fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave and a coffee maker.
One caveat is that the downstairs patio can be very grubby and the tops of the dividing walls downright filthy.
The pool is adequate for a hotel pool although for serious swimmers, you should be aware that it is quite small and not at all deep. Sunbeds (as with most hotels) are at a premium, but we were pleasantly surprised that it was not too difficult to get one at most times of the day.
Our two main grumbles were the cashless system the hotel operates, and the deliberate disabling of the rooms safes in preference to safety deposit boxes located by reception. The cashless system seems to work quite well, although I would have preferred to pay for what I used (which was very little) as I went rather than opening an account (either by credit card or via a €100 minimum deposit). The safety deposit boxes are downright inconvenient (especially if you get a lower one).
I've stopped in a lot of Tenerife hotels and this one feels safe, secure and friendly.
Tenerife has been given a bad reputation over the years, and to be fair, some of it is well deserved.
In recent years, the resort has been facelifted (still ongoing) and looks far better than it did five years ago. The Americas Plaza area is a far ni...

When we booked this holiday we booked the transfer at the same time. It cost us £28 all together. We waited for an hour at the airport for some other folk, who obviously made there own way to there hotel. We wish we had done the same. It took us another hour to get to the resort as the taxi driver got lost. On the way back we paid for a taxi. It cost 23 euros and took 10 minutes. The apartments were really nice. We were in a 1 bedroom apartment. There is a t.v but you have to pay for the remote control. All the time we were there we couldn’t get English channels. They were always breaking up. There was some one at reception nearly every day complaining about it. We did get a cockroach in the room. It came in from the outside. We left the lounge light on through the night and we never got any more. We went all inclusive. For the evening meal we had a different menu to the paying guests and it was very basic. It was ok as we were there for a week. It would be no good if we were there for a fortnight. The complex was clean and tidy. There were ample sun beds and many weren’t used. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only exception was the reception staff. We had some problems when we booked in. (They didn’t have our names down as staying there) so we never got a welcome pack with the info we needed. For the first 3 days we were constantly going to reception to get info and they weren’t very helpful. I would not recommend walking to the resort centre on a night time get a taxi. The road you walk down has ladies of the night working on the roadside. We went to Los Cristianos Sunday market. You can get a bargain. Be prepared to haggle. Be aware of the timeshare touts going into the market. They ask you if you want tickets for the market. You don’t need tickets for the market. It’s just a way for them to stop you. There is a lot of timeshare touts in Las Americas. We were stopped by one who had a First choice t-shirt on. Obviously wearing it so you will think he works for First Choice. The Green Golf apartments are quiet and away from the noise of the resort centre. I don’t think we would go there again. They are a bit to quiet and a bit to far out of the resort.
