Karona Resort And Spa Reviews

Karona Resort and Spa was previously called Karona Tropical which is why you can't find it on most maps. I chose this hotel because I like to snorkel and this was the place to be according to reviews.
It is about 100 yards from Karon Beach up a side road from the beach road.
When we arrived my wife stayed outside while I went to check-in because she said it couldn't be our hotel. Too posh for us.
Anyway lovely hotel, tropical surroundings,cheapest mini-bar in the world, ideal location. There are plenty of steps if this is a problem for some.

The hotel is at the Kata end of Karon Beach. Kata centre starts in front of the hotel. You can hit 50 bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk.
Karon Beach Resort is across the road from Karona, this is the only beachfront hotel on Karon Beach, and this is only because it is on the end of the beach on the bend to the headland which separates Karon and Kata beaches. Everywhere else in Karon the road runs along the beach so all the hotels are on the land side of the road.
Karon Beach Resort looks nice as well but some people who stayed at both Karona and Karon beach resorts said Karona is better hotel.

Never had a bad meal in Phuket, you can choose how much you want to spend and it will always be good. We got friendly with Bom and Oil in a restaurannt called Siam Thai Food in Kata. The food was lovely and we kept them awake for a few nights drinking way after we should.
We were in Koh Samui last year and Phuket is as good a place to be and the Karona resort.
