Royal Cliff Beach Resort Reviews

We cannot praise Kuoni enough for this holiday.

We arrived in Bangkok at 3.00 in the morning very tired. We had our own car and driver who whisked us to our hotel. We could not believe the amount of people still around at that time of morning but according to the driver that was normal.

The Amari Boulavard was wonderful, fantastic views from our room, the restaraunts in the hotel serves splendid food. The hotel is not far from the sky train which we used when coming back from the Grand Palace (as well as a boat taxi!!). Couldn't believe how clean the train was and also how cheap the fares were. Bangkok is a frantic city, but full of amazing sites and people. Got to say we were glad to leave the constant buzz of cars, food and people.

Next stop Pattaya. What can I say, the Royal Wing in the Royal Cliff hotel cannot be described with just words.
Due to the SARS outbreak the hotel was very very quiet it seemed there was more staff than guests!! We were ferried to the Royal Wing by a buggy and met by the manager and a cool complementary beer. Our suite was amazing. Huge jacuzzi bath, swivelling T.V. and music centre (remember to take some of your own c.d's with you). Wonderful view, you could lie in the bath surrounded by jacuzzie bubbles and look out onto the sea.

The suite had two balconies, one with two sunbeds on, the other with a table and chairs set up. The best bit of the suite was the letter box and door bell!!! They post a Thai newspaper written in English in the box every morning and leave any messages in a linen basket inside the door. We had laundry service, sending it one day and we were told to expect it back the next day. So we waited but no ring on the door bell that evening. Oh well we thought we will go out anyway, opened the wardrobe to find all our clean clothes hung up.

We had our own sunbeds by the pool and our names were engraved and placed on a plaque at the end of the bed!! We were given the plaque when we left.

We cannot praise Kuoni enough anything we wanted they got us, they checked us and our bags in to airport each time and they were friendly and pleasant at whatever time of day it was that we saw them.

The staff in the Royal wing were amazing, (they even started stiring the sugar into my husbands coffee in the morning - soon put a stop to that), they knew our names from the time we checked in and said goodbye to us as if we were really good friends.

The manager even gave us his business card after hunting us down in this huge hotel.
Overall would totally recommend both Bankok and Pattay. I haven't said much about the night life in Pattaya. I think you make of it what you want, my husband and I took it with a pinch of salt and enjoyed wandering around at night and watching Thai life.

fantastic!!!!! situated in a glorious setting there is various different blockgrand,terrace,and the wonderful royalwing it is just unbeliveable what service we just had a sneek preview but luxury it not the word. anyway we stayed in the grand the rooms are very spacious, massive balcony with luxury sun loungers, the bathroom is massive huge shower bath free bathrobes,etc. there is various pools.we stayed around the pool for a few days. the service is second to none poolside service and first class food. we also took a catermeran to an island to do some watersports it was very good speaking to locals who took itupon themselves to braid our hair,henna tatoos we done parascending, banna boat brilliant. pattaya itself bit tacky we got dropped off by a tuc tuc (a hair raising experience) in boys town. you do get quite a bit of hassle if it is all girls we went to a club called splash very enter entertaining lots of naked men well if your into that kind of thing. well all in all i wanna go back asap.
