Arcadia Beach Resort Reviews

Well what can I say?? This hotel is amazing..

The setting is incredible, the staff are so friendly and helpful, the accomodation was fantastic and the services was faultless. We stayed here for nine days of relaxed heaven (after 5 days of bedlam in Bangkok!) The hotel itself is set on Karon Beach (about 3-4km from Patong Beach) and is set in 86 acres of beautifully tended grounds. It has a man made lagoon, 3 swimmimg pools, 7 restaurants, and numerous shops, together with a gymnasium, health spa, and squash courts.. but best of all was the relaxation massage and aromatherapy centre!

To say the massages were wonderful is a total understatement.. they were incredible (no funny business either!!)

Despite being a 5 star hotel (and some brochures show it as a 6 star!) the prices are very, very reasonable.. eg an all u can eat thai / seafood buffet, with every type of food imaginable worked out at £9.00 per head! The resort itself is rather quiet, compared to Patong, but a ten minute Tuk Tuk ride gets you to the heart of Patong sleaziness!! (beware of the Tuk Tuk prices though.. they operated a little cartel from Karon Beach and they will not baretr on price, all of them charged 200 baht.. however, on the return journey we got the price down to 100 baht.

The Dino park mini golf and restaurant are worth a visit, but the must do (as far as we were concerned was the speedboat trip to Phi-Phi island and the full day safari tour of the island, which included elephant trekking, a visit to a Gibbon sanctuary and white water rafting..

All in all Thailand and especially Phuket are incredible places to visit.. I will be going back sooooooooooooooon.. p.s. If time permits visit one of the hundreds of bespoke tailors shops in the area and have a suit made to measure.. I got a 2 piece suit, spare trousers, and 2 shirts for around £75.00 .. absolute bargain..
