Cha Da Resort Reviews

The resort rating we've given is a compromise - if you want a quiet spot it's great, but if you need lots of entertainment, you'd be bored to death!

We stayed at the Cha Da Beach Resort on Koh Lanta, an island near Phuket. Krabi airport is new, clean and quiet but the transfer to the hotel takes 2 - 3 hours and includes two ferry crossings. The resort is very quiet and little developed, with a long, gently sloping beach - good for young children, but older kids would be bored to death. The hotel opened last year, but it isn't completely finished yet (though all essential facilities are working normally). The manager is German, reflecting a preponderance of holidaymakers from Germany and Holland in the resort, though the clientèle seem fairly affluent. The Emerald suite we had was lovely with an interesting decor (lots of dark wood and a high ceiling) and comfortable king-size bed. The hotel was clean and efficient, but the restaurant didn't seem busy, partly because you could walk 100 yds along the beach and get very good meals at half the price! Lots of mosquitos too.
