We did not no what to expect as this was our first time to Tunisia we were pleasantly suprised everybody was friendly and polite. When we entered our apartment wow it was spacious and clean with sattelite tv and air condidtioning at no extra cost which was nice for a change, we phoned the uk from our room and was glad to find out there is no connection charge just call duration at a couple of dinars per minute which is fine for the hello i've arrived safley call.
the apartment complex is very nice only a few british guests 3 very nice pools and i witnessed the maitenace man testing all 3 pools everyday we were there, with plenty of sunbeds and mattresses to go round nobody went without. the onsite shop prices were reasonable.
I would have gladly given this an execellent rating but i felt that it's bar service let it down it was not opening until 2pm and closing at 11pm some days it opened at 11 am but only a few times there was only one night of entertainment whilst we were there and it was a 20 minute belly dance so no entertainment and a poor bar service were the only thing that let it down overall.
The actual resort of hammamet is quite nice but very quiet unless you go clubbing, there was not many places to go for family orientated nightlife and fun, we ended up booking the sahara trip to break up the monotony and we were glad we did it was a great trip we slept in the desert for that alone it was worth doing.
Unfortunatley we found the food was not very good no matter where we went it's poor to average no matter where you go the aziza has opened it's own restaurent next door which is reasonable and they will make you a chip butty and it served the best pizza we tasted we had a few meals there they also let you order pizza or a sandwich from the bar to eat round the pool which is handy. all in all we will not be returning to Tunisia because of it's quietness and distinct lack of family orientated nightlife.

This hotel is not in the centre of Hammamet and apart from a couple of restaurants / shops outside the grounds, there is absolutely nothing to do at night. The hotel entertainment leaves a lot to be desired, there are local dancing/ magician/ fakir type entertainers for around half an hour most evenings in the lounge bar and after that you have to wait until around 11.30 for the disco to open.(opening times vary according to whether they can be bothered or not)
The food is well presented but very much the same every night. There were 6 in our party and 5 of us had the ";Tunisia Trots"; after a couple of days, so don't forget to pack the Immodium.
The daytime can be very pleasant, as the beach and pool area are very nice and the sunbed guy will always find you a bed / parasol if you tip him the odd Dinar here and there.
This is supposed to be 24 hour all inclusive, but you try getting something to eat in the afternoon after the lunchtime buffet closes. The only thing on offer is what they call a ";Burger"; bar and you can have anything that you want on your burger as long as you dont want a burger on it.(i.e. salad only)
Beer is served in half pint glasses, (eventually) usually about 3/4 full and they sometimes ";forget"; to put the spirits in the shorts. You have to sign for your drinks and you usually find a couple of extra items on there that you haven't had. OK it doesn't cost you anything, but there is some kind of scam going on with the waiters and bar staff.
DO NOT USE THE SAFETY DEPOSIT FACILITY. You have to hand your valuables to a guy behind the Bureau de Change and he then puts it into a deposit box behind the counter. I saw him take a note ( a la Paul Daniels)from my open wallet as he turned around to put them in. I challenged him and also got the manager but we never heard anything more about it and he was still working there at the end of the week. Needless to say I immediately emptied the box and got my deposit back.
The rep that we had was a local guy named Sam, he was really good and nothing was too much trouble for him.
All in all this was not the worst holiday that we have ever had, but it was far from the best.

i thought that the aziza residence was the best holiday that i have been on so far.the staff are really friendly and always there if you need them.the accomadation was great too. the pools are even a farely big size and is suitable for a holiday with young children as they have thier very own kids pool.the beach is located just a 2minutes walk down the road. there is always taixs outside so you dont have to wait long to go into town or you could just walk plus the taxis are realli good value.
i would recommend this hotel as i thurally enjoyed it and would most definetely return in my years to come.
the food is nice too not that much different from english food but you can try thier speciallity if you want.thier entertainment in the hotel is good too but if you always wanted to you could go out into town for the night.their souveniours are great too some unique stuff. i thought it was great. i hope you choose to go as i definetely will be going in the future.yuo can even have a relaxing holiday sitting beside the pool with waiters there to get your drinks so you can stay there or a day sun bathing on the beach or you could always have a busy holiday sightseeing, shopping or even just a mixture whatever you choose this hotel will suit your needs perfectly. i hope that everyone else feels the same way as i cant see how you can put a bad name to this particular hotel. I LOVED IT! BAJEAN

We have just come back from two fantastic weeks in Tunisia. It was our first trip there and we didn't really know what to expect but we had a lovely time. 99% of the people are welcoming and genuinely friendly, the other 1% are the ones we've all heard about. Just keep your wits about you and be firm and there should be no problems, but beware that if you have a blonde-haired, blue-eyed teenage daughter in tow she will be pestered everywhere even if wearing fairly demure clothing.
The hotel is very relaxed, the bar area is a great place to unwind even more in the evenings. The Thalassotherapy centre next door is a must, I had a couple of treatments at the end of my holiday but really I should have had some at the beginning as well. See Liz, she's in reception most mornings to take bookings and she's an invaluable source of information about lots of places to visit and things to do. The entertainment is low key and can get quite repetitive but if you want a more lively holiday, stay at the sister hotel next door (the Mediterranee. The food was always top quality and plenty of variety and you could eat as much as you wanted.
We took the train to Tunis (6DT each return, about £2.75,) as advised by previous reviewers, and it was a great way to meet the locals and see the countryside. Tunis is very cosmopolitan and the Medina is fascinating, we spent ages wandering around the alleyways.
We also hired a car (madness when you see the driving) to visit some out of the way places including a Commonwealth War Cemetery in Enfida, which was a moving experience having seen the surrounding countryside. If you want to sign the visitors book don't go on a Saturday or Sunday though. We took the Sahara trip as well, and it was an amazing experience. The only downside is all the hours on the coach but that can't really be avoided!
Tunisia is different, the whole culture is not like anywhere I'd ever been but go with an open mind and be prepared to mix in and you'll have a great time. The very worst thing is the complete lack of public toilet facilities and the disgusting state of the ones you do manage to find.A reasonable amount of French is helpful out of the resort, and if you try to learn some very basic Arabic you'll be amazed how much more friendly people become.
If you prefer somewhere a bit more lively or ";european"; choose Port El Kantaoui or Sousse or even Yasmine Hammamet all of which we visited.
