Me and my boyfriend read the reviews before our holiday to caribbean world resort in borj cedria and where horrified we'd made a big mistake. So we were right.

The hotel was in the middle of a dirt field with nothing around your really isolated in this hotel. Its really not a hotel for the english, its definatly catered for germans from service to food. It was horrible food with 'grilled vegetables' having bits of octopus in it , which we found out the hard way. Poor selection same every night and dont even do chips you can have at least. We survived on crisps and biscuits from the shop and most nights didnt bother to go to the restaurent.

The waiters actually take the mick out of how the english say coke much to my boyfriends annoyment. As soon as we arrived, we waited an hour before giving out room where the luggage porter took our bags to our room. Would not leave to had a tip which had to be more then 10 TD which is over a fiver , which we thought 'what a cheek!'
The animation team really do all they can to get you up.
The beach its self is the best part except when you get into the sea. Its full of rubbish big bags everywhere, this wasnt just on one day but everyday we went. Although the weather is fantastic late 30's every day and we went 25th sept for a week.

Needless to say, please be put off by the reviews its a terrible hotel, we gave it a chance which it wont have again.

Average everything, we booked this as a last minute deal and it was our first time in Tunisia!!
Transfer took forever and involved changing coach along the route, the complex is in the middle of nowhere so once your'e there your stuck for the duration.
Brits were very few and far between so the staff spoke mainly german...not a huge problem seeing as the first week we had got sick and tired on moaning Brits anyway (why go to a different country on holiday and then complain about no chips for meals????).
Trips looked like they were way over priced so not worth booking.

Rooms were okay although I get the impression we were lucky with ours.
Food......very hit and miss and very samey after two weeks, some nights it was really good but others it was dross.
Animation team seemed okay if you interacted with them...it seemed to us that some Brits there were going to make sure they didn't enjoy it whatever happened, glad to get rid of them after a week.
Flies as mentioned before are a real problem over there but there's not a great deal that you can do about it, mossies are a constant pain as well so make sure you take plenty of repellent.

Medhotel rep was a nightmare to get hold of and even missed the welcome meeting, not a good start.
This resort looks tired and is in dire need of a facelift and a rest, the staff looked weary and that was reflected in the service.Having said that we had a good time, after all, a holidays' what you make it.

when we booked this holiday we stated that my mother was disabled and she would need a ground floor room. when we arrived after a 3 hour minibus ride in the middle of the night, my mum was shown to her room and it was on the second floor and there was no lift. when i asked the staff about this, they had suddenly forgotten how to speak english. Not to make a fuss my poor mum hobbled up 2 flights of stairs with her 2 walking sticks.

at the welcome meeting the next day, the med hotels rep promised to sort it out, but nothing was done and my mum spent most of her time in her room. the all inclusive is a joke as the food was not very nice accept for the deserts which my son survived on. the only alchohol they had was very weak lager and if your lucky cheap wine. there are no spirits, we got our in duty free on the way there. the staff were ok but not many english guests, mostly german and french so they were taken care of first, even at the bar they were served before you, even if you were there first. you are hassled constantly to go on trips. DONT, they are a rip off and they will say anything to rip you off. the med hotels reps will say anything to keep you quiet but they will do nothing to help you. they told us it would be sorted out when we got home, but almost a year on and we still have not heard anything.

My advice to anyone is do not go. we have travelled to many places but tunisia is a place i would never go back to.
If you go out of the resort check your money and your change as they will do anything to make money out of you.

Do not be fooled by the pictures available of this hotel - it is nowhere near a 4 star i would'nt give it any!!

Stayed for a week in Oct 2004 and could'nt wait to get home - food was inedible - staff hated the english (although there were only 4 of us in the entire hotel)we were spat at by a member of the animation team for not joining in with the bingo even though it was in german.
The bar was always closing early or running out of drink - very little choice - coke or sprite for the non-alcoholic drinkers and dodgy beer and wine.
no activities, entertainment and miles away from anything

bedrooms were cleaned daily but very late and often towels were not replaced although dirty ones were removed which left you with nothing - only spotted this the first time when i came to get out of the shower - luckily i had taken some towels of my own
tv in room did not work at all neither did the air-con

transfer from airport took over 4 hours and we were crammed in like sardines
cases were loaded into bus by driver removing a window and when we got to the airport my partner and another passenger had to remove the window again and unload the bus while the driver stood and watched and had a cigarette - no rep or anyone to complain to

will not be going back to tunisia - the place is overrun with flies and it stinks - literally!!
definately a holiday from hell

Owned by Med Hotels 4* all inclusive £269 from manchester this is really a poor 3* hotel
Rooms are basic and generally poorly equiped, TV (didnt work) Bathroom< Tatty broken tiles and plug in sink faulty. Room safe didnt open. we tried to get these fixed or change rooms but after seeing two others ours was better than those offered, despite 4 complaints to Reception, a note was left by staff for manager on each occasion nothing happened, when asked to see him ";he's not here"; Whole hotel has an tatty feel to it apart from the pool area that is kept immaculately clean, loads of free sunbeds.

All Inclusive and food The alcoholic drinks available are:- Beer, Sambooka, date brandy, Red/white wine The white wine ran out on the 2nd day, and was still not available when we left.
Soft Drinks:-
Orange, Lemon, Strawberry Juices Fanta Coke, mineraland Soda water
Food:-
Breakfast same everyday but Ok Lunch/Dinner Food always luke warm amd very repetative, same think reheated or spiced up every day, apart from tunisian evening, after which most people where ill.
RESORT
miles away from anywhere, Beach is nice and clean, good watersports.
Out and About:-
Don't take tours they are a rip off, much cheaper and quicker to use the trains. local train staion about 1 mile walk or 5 dinars by taxi if you haggle catch train to Tunis Nice clean City, Souk and medina well worth a visit+ walk to top of souk and visit the Parliament buildings very impressive.
A MUST is the Bardo Mosaic Museum, take the Metro cost 2 dinars return get of at Bardo station short walk its fantastic. Carthage is Ok but very scattered Duggia is better and less of a ruin and more compact
THE WHOLE HOTEL IS INFESTED WITH FLIES THEY ARE EVERWHERE A REAL NUISANCE, CHECKED OTHER HOTELS THEY WHERE OK
