This is the most dissapointing holiday I have ever experienced.
The resort in Hammamet is in a nice location, the hotel is situated right on the beach and on first impressions it looks like a wonderful place to spend a nice peacefull weeks holiday. How wrong I was. If you would like to visit a Tunisian version of Butlins then this would be the ideal place for you. Most of the Hotel staff are very pleasent and welcoming, but, I experienced others who were most unhelpful and sometimes rude. The air conditioning in my room took 4 days to fix. Well 5 minutes actually but I had to wait 4 days to get any response from Hotel staff.
The evening entertainment is mostly in French and the drinks in the 'free bar' were very limited. I ended up spending around 50 Dinars an evening in the paying bar in the hotel reception. Ice creams are free but only between 3pm-5pm. Outside these times you have to pay. Any Crepes or BBQ's in the pool area are also charged for and not free. The only time you can get tea or coffee is at Breakfast or between 3pm-5pm. Outside these times you have to pay. The food was O.K/good but very repetative after 1 week.
We took 2 trips independantly from Thomson. We booked Quad biking through COCO, who is always around the pool. This was fantastic and a good way to see some sights. We were taken up a mountain and around a beautiful lake. The trip lasted for approx 3 hours and cost 25 Dinars per person. We liked it so much we went again and they took us on a different route. We also took 2 trips booked through Thomson. The first was the priates ship, this was 1/2 a day and was good. Kids really enjoyed walking the plank and seeing the dolphins.
The 2nd trip was to the local waterpark. I would not recommend this day out to anyone. There seems to be no safety measures in place and when I had an accident on one of the slides there didn't seem to be any first aid around either. Groups of teenagers were throwing themselves down the slides altogether and then forcing themselves to stop half way down. We left after just 2 hours.
This holiday has really put me off visiting Tunisia again. There were other people inthe hotel who seemed to be enjoying themselves though and as I said if you like the fun and games and butlins type of holiday then you might like this place. One word of warning though this is a full board hotel with All inclusive free. You will probably spend more then planned. As for me, I'm off to the Greek islands to recover from the stressful week that I have just spent at the Coraila Palm Beach !!

After having read all the reviews, we were getting a bit worried about staying at this hotel, but we must admit we've just returned after having a fantastic 2 wks, and it went very quickly as we never had time to get bored. But we will say that this hotel is definitely 3* and not 4 like it shows.
The animation team were always fantastic, they entertained day and night and we became friends with alot of them. The hotel was always clean apart from the flys and ants we didn't see anything else, however, there are lots of wild cats who enter the hotel and in the outdoor veranda near the restaurant but as we love cats we didn't mind them coming over to us. My 2 boys really enjoyed their stay, even though there's not much for children to do. The kids club was ok, the reps really did try to get the boys to join in, but language was always difficult as most of the kids there spoke either itallian, german or french.
The pool at this hotel we must admit is probably the best we've ever seen it was always clean and the poolside staff always looked after us.
The food was fantastic, we did more or less have the same dishes nearly every day, but you have to remember they cater for over 300 people with different tastes, we certainly enjoyed the local tunisian dishes, definitely worth trying.
A tip, If you like your drinks buy them from duty free it's alot cheaper plus the local drinks were included in the price but you had to pay for vodka or brandy etc.
I strongly recommend the camal trip, but be careful as it can get really hot during the months of july - august, we would definitley do it again. We also went on the pirate ship, again, it's a nice excursion but it's 50/50 of seeing the dolphins, and although we had good entertainment, we never got to see the dolphins. The costs of these trips we thought were reasonable, alot cheaper than in europe.
Alot of our friends had trouble in the medina as they do try to force you to buy things you may not want, try not to look too interested in items and just say 'no' and walk away, and always haggle with them they always start prices to high, you start low you can soon come to some arrangement, we always walked away with a bargain.
We would definitely visit Tunisia again as we loved the country, and we would probably go back to this hotel as we became friends with alot of the staff and all the reps, and we can't wait to see them again.
If your going to stay at this hotel don't let the reviews put you off, everyone have their own views, we certainly did't let it put us off and we had a fab time just go for it
before going on this holiday i had only read a few good reviews, i'm glad my two friends and i still went.

the hotel is clean and so are the rooms. we did have a problem with our room when we arrived but only because the view was crap! we were moved though, the reception manager was very helpful and we ended up with a lovely sea view!the staff were very friendly and helpful. the food was always hot and of good quality, you are in tunisia though so if you love your fry ups for breakfast and meat and two veg for diner be prepared to go hungry!(there are chips available..)
we had no problems with stuff going missing but we did lock everything away in our suitcases. The only critism i have would be the lack of variety of drink, not that i wanted to get bladdered every night but i got fed up with drinking beer and sangria.
all in all i would recommend this hotel for a relaxing break. one last thing it gets very very hot in jul/aug.

I am writing a few lines regarding this Hotel so for those of you pondering as to whether you should book maybe this will help you.
The Hotel Corellia is rated as a 3t in most brouchers or on line however on arriving you will notice that in Tunsia By Tunisia it is rated as a 4star, Now on checking any other hotel you will find this true of them Tunisia ratings are higher than most uk brouchers (Most tour operatours to not advertise them as the Tunsisan rating)
The hotel is of a 3 star rating it is clean and basic a lovely pool, garden area that leads to the beach
FOOD is varied however if you go expecting english style food ie full fried breakfast then this is not for you the food will be salads rice pasta chicken beef lamb they do have a childs section all be it basic (pizza, burgers, chips but they try to help people with children. If there is nothing there you or your children eat then approach your rep or go directly yourself to the Head Waiter and they will try to accomodate you. If you like tomatoe or brown sause i would recommend taking a small sachet or plastic bottle with.
They do a late breakfast of pastries tea coffee and they do afternoon snacks as well.
Children/babies
Make sure you pack plenty of swimming nappies they do not have them in this country. Baby food is available in pharmacies not supermarkets.
Most milk is uht long life
Regarding ALCOHOLIC drinks......
Tunisia has a high tax import law, also being a muslim country the selection of alcoholic drinks is limited (forget all branded drinks) If you like vodka or baileys etc i would buy a bottle before arriving to enjoy during your holiday. The drinks in the inclusive package are Bouka - which is known as the local fire water take it slow!!!! It reminds me of the spanish ouzo!!!!
Cedratrine - is a bit like Martini
Muscat - is like a sweet brandy
They also have red white and rose wine
And the local beer is celtia.
So if you dont really like any of the above pack a bottle..to keep and if you dont drink it you can always sell it. To buy a bottle of Absouloute Vodka in tunisia is 150 dinars which is about £60.
Bottled water is included also. They do have a few other drinks however these are NOT part of the inclusive package.
If you want a fridge in your room all you have to do is ask reception free of charge they do take preference to babies and medical needs.
They have a small animation team working in the hotel it is not of a professional standard but it is fun and they get everyone joining in they do speak english.
The kids animation is of a very basic standard so maybe pack a few bits with you.
The Hotel staff are freindly however sometimes they can seem rude thats because sometimes with our accents and how fast we speak they dont understand so take your time and they will be fine. English operators only started in this hotel last year so they are learning more english week by week.
Now this hotel is a quite hotel after 23.00 its quite so if you want lively maybe its not for you.
Trips....
There are touts in the hotel they are nothing to do with any tour operator or the hotel they just pay to work there. Always speak to your rep before handing any money over to them as sometimes you will find on your insurance policy you are not covered!!!!!
My suggestions are
Sahara trip amazing out of this world.
Carthage and bardo museum great photos
Zulu evening African night Meal included
It is custom to TIP they do get paid a very low wage around £200 per month.
Ladies take some tights with you the maids will love you. They are very expensive in there country. Tipping is around 10-30 Dinars £4-12 ish.. your call.
Hope this helps Take care have agood trip
Dont forget Ramadan is coming soon in middle of September most food places outside the hotel will close during daylight hours!! During this time of 1 month Muslims are not allowed to eat drink smoke so maybe they might not smiley all the time. And going out and about you may want to cover up a little bit ie long shorts sleeve t shirts just out of respect.

My wife and I visited this hotel between 18-25 June 2006. At first, seeing all the reviews we were pretty concerned about what we were going to experience at this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised that on first arrival, everything seemed in order and we had no real complaints to make.
The big thing to remember is this: This is a 3 star hotel...and don't therefore expect any better than that! For what we paid for our all inclusive holiday, we certainly got our monies worth!
The hotel has got one of the best pools that we have ever seen and a fantastic beach with calm and clear water. There is a pool bar that opens around 10 and serves drinks throughout the day.
Food: Well this is something a lot of people have been critical of in some reviews...There is nothing wrong with the food at all, there were always plenty to choose from, BUT if you are looking for your standard food you eat at home, Then stay at home! The food was delicious, warm and always well presented with a great choice.
Staff: They were great and always seemed to try and entertain everyone, morning till night, in their own Tunisian way...Once again, this may not be what you get back home but you are abroad and there are lots of different nationalities to please. In my opinion this hotel is quite a good family destination as the children especially were always kept busy.
See and Do: Get one of the yellow taxis outside the hotel gates, they are metered and won't rip you off. The Medina at Hammamet is the better choice compared to the one at Yasmin Hammamet as the vendors are not as pushy! We were warned prior to our departure to watch out for the pushy vendors who can't take no for an answer...We had no trouble with this, just carry on walking if you aren't interested, don't say anything, just walk. It was actually quite a laugh once we got the hang of it! If you do wish to have a night out, go to Yasmin Hammamet as there are plenty of bars, restaurants and nightclubs, including some British one's. Most tour operators also offer a good selection of trips.
Security: We felt safe throughout our stay and could go on the beach at night or walk outside the complex at our own will, unlike many other destinations.
If you wish to purchase alcohol or tobacco, do so at the airport, it is a lot cheaper!
Final word of caution: Although we had a good time and enjoyed our stay, a pair of shoes went missing from our bedroom, strange......as we had a lot more valueble items around.
All in all, if you are thinking of going here...GO FOR IT!!!- Just remenber, you are a short way away from the Sahara desert, it gets HOT!
