When we first arrived at this hotel our impressions were good. although it was only a short distance from the airport...short meaning 2 minute drive ina ataxi and beware the people rip you off so negotitate a price before gettin in it was all good...the bell boy took our bags the reception staff greeted us and we recieved a welcome drink.when we finally was shown to our room after over an hour of waiting it was right on the front of the hotel it was noisy because the hotel was situated at the bottom of the blinkin runway and a huge motorway outside the hotel so we gave it a shot for 1 night but had to sleep with the door open as our air con was broke! went down to reception and asked if someone could fix it after a very hot night in bed and they sent someone up but they said it was broke and said they would be back in ten mins but after 2 hours no one came. i then went down to reception their attitude was awful and told me they had no spare room to give me i didn't give in a eventually they gave me another much nicer room which over looked the pool....and working air con.
the beach was lovely with plenty of sun brolleys and beds although do be careful as you have to pay for the yellow mats that go on your sunbeds at 2Dinar each everyday so it all adds up. you don't get free beach towels so make sure you buy your own i have never known an all inclusive resort not to have those 2 things included in the price.
the entertainment was poor and mainly for kids there was supposed to be a disco but after asking the reception staff several times where it was we gave up as none of the staff spoke a word of english which i thought was quite poor. they were rude and i gathered they didn't like men just women if you flirted with them to get change, drink etc. we went to monastir on the train that you book through the hotel that was ok but every shop you walk past you get dragged in and i mean dragged in and pestered so we got fed up and went to the pub until it was time for the train to pick us up. we did ride on a camel though which was only 10Dinar and we enjoyed that also jet skiing is a must which was 40 Dinar.
The food was very poor and flies crawled all over it, as i work with food myself i know what flies can do in a matter of seconds on your food, if your a vegetarian then your in big trouble everything had meat in it even the salads.
overall this wasn't our best holiday mainly beacuse of the hotel and the lack of english staying, mainly germans and french stayed there we wont be rushing back any time soon.please don't be totally put off by this hotel but we have paid even cheaper prices for a 4 star and got a great deal more for our money just because you paid cheap it doesn't mean you should get a rubbish hotel everyone has different views but this is much a hotel that caters for germans and french so be warned....
