three words sum this place up, DONT GO THERE!! basically i booked this holiday just after xmas fr a winter break and flew from birmigham airport (which is a completely NON smoking airport) we landed at monastir airport and waited at passport control (not too bad of a wait but i can imagine the poor people queuing for hours in the summer season. we grabed our bags and went to find our rep desk to sort out our transfers, to which we had a local snatch our bag trolley and run off outside with it muttering what number at us, i got the trolley back and found our tour operator a tunisian fella with a cardboard sign on a stick. he ticked us off and we said we would wait outside, our trolley was grabbed again and taken to a coach. we had to get a thompsons rep to explain we wernt with thomsons, eventually we were ready to go, so then we followed the ref to his jeep and he chucked the cases on the roof and told us to get in! we were too tired to question so off we went. we arrived at the hotel and checked in and given wristbands. our bags were taken up by the porter and taken to our room, then me not understanding the money gave him 55dinar (about £22) as a tip. i didnt realise what coins were what until afterwards !!!
we went downstairs to get a drink and found out what was all inclusive, beer (celtia which was awful) served in half pint pots half full. there were other alcoholic drinks on, vodka, gin an wine, everything else you have to pay for , even bottled water. we had a look around then went for tea, the food wasnt bad with quite a selection. once tea was done we went back to the bar and had a few more beers, i asked about the entertainment, basically as it is out of season there ISNT ANY. so we decided to retire to bed, when entering the room we found someone had been in our room, been sick everywhere and a dog or other large animal had been in our room and quite litterally done its mess on the floor, i went to reeption and was told it was the job of the rep to sort, one thing, the rep wasnt on sie and only available on the phone for 2 hours a week.
our first night and we thought ";where the hell are we";
we woke late and was told we had missed a welcome meeting witht he rep (something he never bothered to tell us) so we go down in search of something to do (activities wise) there was nothing on at all, the tennis courts were closed no minigolf, all we had was 2 pool tables and a couple of video games machines. we met a lad who had been to the houda (next door hotel) and told us how good it was. he eventually spent most of his holiday there. so with nothing to do (whihc could suit some people) we thought we would venture out of town (as there is nothing around for about 3/4 miles.) so we go to sousse, the taxi driver was clearly trainingfor his stock car rally licence and i dont know how his car stayed in one piece on the way there. we got there to be forced into shops and items stuffed in our pockets etc. in the end we were so sick of it we went back at the hotel to sit in the lounge area drinking crappy beer and looking at the walls.
toward the end of the holiday i wanted a bit of spending money to buy gifts, so we went to port el kantiou (v nice place, not hassled etc) got to the bank and tid to withdraw some money, wouldnt let me, i tried 6 cash machines and still no luck, i called my bank who told me i can use my card abroad and i had sufficiant funds in my account etc, so we came home from port el kantiou with no gifts and about 20 dinars left to last us till the end of the holiday. so i asked reception to get hold of the rep to see what he can do, i spoke to him on the phone and he told me to try at the airports cash machines but if it didnt work it was tough and there was nothing he could do about it. by this time i was looking forward to getting on the plane back to windy old england!!!! luckily ian (top lad!!!) borrowed me some money so we had a bit of spends.
the next day we went for a walk down the beach to see the other hotels etc and they were all full of british holiday makers, everything was open, all activites better beer, more stuff free etc etc. we had 6 english couples in our hotel, the rest were german and french. this was the first time i have been to tunisia and unfortunatly its my last, shame really as there is a lot to explore

we chose allocation on arrival and had never been all inclusive before, as soon as we arrived we were greeted with a drink and our wristbands.
the room was very spacious and comfortably fitted 2 single beds 1 sofa bed, and bathroom included hairdryer and
shaver plug attached, very spacious wardrobes which were in the hallway as you walked into the bedroom.
the hotel served a good variety of food for breakfast dinner and evening meal all
of which was in abundance and didnt seem to run out, the sweets were to die for.
the entertaiment was run by the hotel staff and my only fault was it finished at about 10.30 and no music for the teenagers although there is couple of pool tables and machines for them to play on, it was over the easter period we were there for a week, weather was glorious but the swimming pool was cold however we tented to go for a dip in the indoor pool to cool down
the resort itself is very quiet and nothing to do outside but taxis are always outside the hotel grounds to take you to either nearby monister or sousse.
we were put off going to sousse as it can be very overwhelming i beleive because you do get lots of hassle while you are browsing.
the hotel was very clean and sheets were changed during our 1 week stay, i would certainly go all inclusive again and go back to tunisia however i would like to go to a resort that i can stroll around the shops and outside at night, the only downfall was nothing outside of this hotel only l bar the safari bar and drinks very expensive 2.50 pint, would not
go half board as it appears drinks are expensive throughout tunisia.
but for anybody who has not been and chooses to go allocation on arrival would not be dissapointed with this hotel it is rated4*.

The hotel itself was a lovely place to be, with friendly staff. The hotel room was lovely with a sea view and very clean. The hotel is a stones throw (literally) from the waters edge and fine sandy beach. There was a range of activities set out throutout the day that you could get invloved with and also play tennis, table tennis, volley ball and mini golf at your leisure.
The 2 outdoor pools were fantastic and even in November it was warm enough to sunbathe all day (27c) and swim in the pool.
The buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner was great with a wide selection of food to suit all, even the children. There was some particularly nice chicken dishes and soups.
The evening entertainment team tried hard - if you enjoy carcrash TV then this is one for you. But they did try - which is more than some places I have visited. The main downside to the hotel was that it was focussed with a German, Italian and minority English tourist making it sometimes frustrating to handle the other holidaymakers at times.
The main downside to this holiday was the country - the people here are very forceful (although they are trying to be friendly and gain your custom). This can be very intimidating as they will grab you and try to force you to buy things from them. We spent the whole holiday in and just around the hotel because of this fact.
If you want a beach front location, guaranteed good weather and dont mind not having big cities/towns to visit then this is a really good and cheap holiday. We would not return to Tunisia, but if it were possible would go to this hotel again, in another location.
