We arrived at the airport and the weather was lovely, when we got to the hotel the reception was lovely, we were greeted and are suitcases were taken to are room, also at the reception there was a drink waiting for you which was lovely. As we walked round to are apartment the smell was horrible and it was there for the whole holiday. The food was always cold and you only had selected hours you could eat, well paying for an all inclusive holiday i would have though that you would have been able to eat when ever you wanted to. All the night shows were either in German or French never in English which was not very helpful. The gym and sauna which was ment to be open wasn't ever open thorughout the whole holiday. You had to pay for the air conditioning well going in JUNE you would have thought the air con would have been on all the time, which it does also state in the brouchure that the air con would be free from May - August. The thing that annoyed me most as well was the fact that we paid for Holiday Insurance and we weren't insured for anything which they didn't make clear.

Overall i would rate this holiday as being a 3/10 purley that being based on the weather.

The accommodation in bungalows was great idea and bungalows were roomy. Air con stayed on when you left the room so great to come back to a cold room. Food and restaurants were really good.

Only problem for us was the sunbed situation, had to get up at 6.30am if you wanted a sunbed round pool. Pool staff seemed to reserve a lot of beds for their ";customers";. Even saw people coming out of their rooms with sunbeds, they had obviously taken them in at night to make sure they got the the next morning. Rep Sandra was very helpful as was the reception staff. Site overall was very clean and I would recommend this hotel for families.

We hardly spent a penny during the week and the children had everything they wanted.

After booking a weeks holiday at the last minute,we can truely say we had a fantastic time at this hotel and wish we had gone for longer. We will most certainly be going back.

Not much out side hotel, but get a taxi to monastir outside hotel for about 7dennar,you can go to supermarket get your cheap drinks(alcohol).be descreet when takin in hotel they don,t really mind.buy bottle beer and bottle wine in hotel,it is cheaper than draught beer and good.the people are great, pool and beach fantastic, paragliding a must at £8pr person.there is plenty going on during day,but not a lot at night even though some of the shows are good they drag them out a bit.the rooms are cleaned every day.we was a bit wary about going to tunisia but are glad we did and can,t wait to go again a holiday thoroughly enjoyed.Take some duty free with you fags can be hard to get when there.Staff at there airport are great.ENJOY YOUR STAY.

We have just returned from a week's holiday at the Thalassa Hotel Skanes, we had a wonderful time.

The Hotel rooms, food and service were all of a very high quality although I would not describe them as Platinum quality. The entertainment staff tried to do a good job but the entertainment in the evenings was poor. The outside space ie; pools gardens and sitting areas were lovely as was the beach, but the location of the hotel is quite remote. However, there are trains buses and taxes readily available and cheap. The weather was mixed, quite sunny some days but cool in the evenings, I would probably choose to go a little later in the year if I went again. We particularly liked the resort of Port El Kantoui and would choose to go there if we returned.

The Tunisian people were very friendly and helpful, we were pleasantly surprised as we had heard that you get hassled and ripped off(this was not our experience).

This hotel is a good looking building from the outside and has beautiful gardens which are very well cared for. It is located right on the beach, which is kept nice and clean.

There is a clean, outdoor pool, which is fairly cold in the winter months, but probably pleasant in Summer. There is also an indoor pool, but unfortunately it isn't kept so clean - not the water,it's fine, but the surrounding area where the sun loungers are is a bit grubby, as are the toilets.

The bedrooms are spacious and nicely done up, but unfortunately the maids only know how to make the beds, clean the floors (sometimes), wash out the bathrooms and change the towels. What's wrong with that I hear you say....well, the dead mosquitos (yes there are mosquitos even in February) are left stuck to the walls and the tiles, mirrors and most surfaces are very rarely, if ever, cleaned, so take some Dettol wipes.

The staff are very pleasant and will bend over backwards to help you, so that you leave them a tip (they don't expect much). In Spain they treat you like a huge annoyance if you ask for anything and still expect a tip, so the Tunisians are really quite refreshing.

Entertainment: The animation team try to keep you busy and well looked after during the day and do a great job (table tennis, darts, archery, tennis, mini golf, pool table etc.) The same animation team (who incidently work 7 days a week)have to try and keep you amused in the night club in the evenings.
They try really hard........that's the kindest way I can put it.

Don't take your children there. It can be a bit smutty and don't take them to the Fakir show either as it's a bit too gruesome for young children.

Food: Great choice, beautifully presented, but if you only like pie and chips or bacon and egg, this is not the place for you. No kettles in rooms, so take a kettle and some decent tea bags.

Out and About: Yes you get hassled....it's their culture. They need to make a living, so go with the flow. Haggle. If they say something costs 65 dinar, laugh and offer them 5, then haggle with them till you get something for a respectable price. Price things first by going to the Sula Centre in Sousse, then you have a rough idea what things should cost, but remember the Sula Centre is a bit over priced. Le Shukran means no thankyou and if you say it to them, they'll usually stop hastling you. Don't take anything from anyone unless you are actually going to buy it, because once it's in your hand you'll find it difficult to get them to take it back. Most of the traders are good natured, friendly and only out to make a sale, so don't get upset.

Tunisia is well worth a visit, but try to go to Hammamet or Port el Kantoui as Sousse is a bit grotty, Skanes is nowhere near anywhere except the airport and Monastir beach is a bit dirty, with litter etc. or it was the day I was there.
