On arrival in Tunisia, we were required to submit entry forms at passport control. We were fortunate that when we checked in at East Midlands airport, we were given the forms then and filled them in while waiting to board the plane, but others weren't so lucky and had to find forms at Monastir to fill in. Sousse itself is really busy and crossing the roads is a challenge in itself as there is no traffic control and you make a run for it when you can with an outstretched arm to stop the traffic. We were warned against using the tuk tuk transport due to safety issues, so travelled between Sousse and nearby pretty Port El Kantoui on the Noddy trains (there are 3). We were going to have a horse and buggy ride but some of the horses looked really thin so we couldn't bring ourselves to do it. Overall, we enjoyed our visit to Tunisia, though I think if we had taken children, it would have been different as there was little for them to do. If we went again we would perhaps go earlier on in the year as the heat in August is really tiring. The people are friendly and helpful and this holiday has been a positive experience for both myself and my partner.
On arrival at the hotel, my first impression was 'wow this is impressive' - the decor was very regal in marble with big pillars and water features. I couldn't wait to see my room (which wasn't actually ready when we got there so we had to hang about for an...

We travelled through out tunisa and all the shops seem to sell the same things , bartering is normal always start off with a third of the price they want to charge you. The medina can be overwelming but a challenge we didnt have any problems there. The taxis are very cheap to get around in always agree a price first before you go any where, as they will try to rip you off. There are lots of half finished buildings. Be carefull if you have young children because they do-not stop for you to cross the roads. Theres not alot to spend your money on, we found sola sousse shop a bit disapointing.
We had a great holiday in Tunisa. It all depends on what you are looking for. The hotel was so freindly and couldnt do enough to help. The rooms are very basic, but are big and are cleaned on a daily basis. We found a great atmosphere around the pool. The en...

Having been to the same hotel 7 times in under 3 years, I feel able to comment. The hotel badly needs a refurbishment if it is to attract British travellers again. The staff are generally very proficient and do most things ungrudgingly with a smile. However there are the odd exceptions who won't do anything without seeing the colour of your money first. The siting of the hotel couldn't be better, with access to town centre and Port el K' so easy. Taxis wait directly outside the hotel main entrance at most times, and are ready to take you anywhere, but, agree a price first. The pother hotels are all within a comfortable distance and most can be reached by walking. We choose to book our own holidays, and usually pay about £300 pp for three weeks half board using scheduled flights to Tunis, but not including transfers. This time we have used DialAFlight.com for both flights and hotels at a cost of £317 pp.If anybody wishes to ask any questions about Sousse or the hotel I will be happy to help, but please allow 3 weeks as we are going tomorrow.
Good place, good hotel, good staff shame about the age and weariness of the hotel.
