Came home at the weekend from a lovely week in Tunisia with Thomas Cooks. The Marhaba Club is brilliant, plenty of choice of food and drinks and the pool was good, a little chilly though! They had local entertainment at night which was fun. Beach was right outside. Don't rate the resort that much though.

The hotel was actually quite good but we didn't really think that much of Sousse. The beach wasn't particularly nice (wasn't that warm anyway as expected but not the point - we wanted somewhere nice to walk/sit and read) and we got hassled a lot. Maybe a North African thing though. The room was nice though, and the food was generally decent. Some of the entertainment at night was a bit dubious though.

Lovely fortnight in Sousse, the weather maybe wasn't as hot as I thought it would be but lovely nonetheless. Being there for so long we were able to go on a couple of excursions, fantastic country. The hotel was lovely though, food very good. There is plenty going on in terms of entertainments. We would consider returning.

"Good hotel, poor advice from Thomas Cook"

The hotel was great - we weren't on the all-inclusive, but that was OK as we preferred to go out to eat. Trips into the centre of Sousse didn't require a taxi, but you can get one for about 3 dinar. The advice we were given by the Thomas Cook rep at the hotel was awful, though. We got the impression she'd never been outside the resort.

Have just returned from a Thomson holiday to the Marhaba Club Hotel in Sousse.

Hotel was clean and tidy, staff friendly and polite. Food was varied but some dishes we could not identify. Hotel had a mix of nationalities including Russian and Polish. Beach was excellent and the bar/restaraunt just as you got onto the beach served good food at a very reasonable price.

Entertainment was poor, we only watched it to se how much worse it could get. Waiter service around the pool in the day and during the nightly entertainment was excellent. Would not recommend the 3 cities tour run by Thomson as it turned out to be 2 cities and a shop in Monastir. Spent over 5 hours in total on a coach travelling around. A very long day especially if you have young children. Would recommend the waterpark in Port El Kantoui £5 for adults half that for children and you can spend all day in it. Get there early as the sunbeds get snapped up. If you don`t want to be constantly asked by taxi drivers if you want to hire one walk against the traffic, this stops them from bothering you. If you do want one ask how much to where you are going before you get in do not just jump in one. If you do decide to ride the Noddy train from Sousse to the port or the other way round watch you change as the the conductor is very quick.

All in all a very enjoyable holiday at a good hotel. Would go back to both Tunisia and hotel.

The hotel is part of a complex of 4 hotels and you are able to use any of their facilities (except for meals), however you did feel the ";poor relation"; of them all.

The hotel was rated a 3 star but I think this should realistically be a 2 star - the accommodation was very old and tired but I have to say the food and staff were excellent and more than made up for the inadequacies of the accommodation. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble.

Those looking for a more sophisticated hotel should stay around Port el Kantoui.

Plenty for the kids to do both during the day and in the evening with the onsite kids club. One point to note is the season does not officially start until the 1 June and all entertainment is held in the larger sister hotel the Marhaba until this date.

The two day Sahara Desert trip was well worth doing, if a little tiring, but could prove too much for the little ones. You rode into the Sahara Desert at sunset on a camel before taking a very hair raising jeep ride into the Alps.

All in all a good holiday and we would definately stay in this area again but at a different hotel.
