Yasmine Hammamet is a fairly new, purpose built resort but retains that 'Tunisian' feel. It is very clean and the people are really friendly. We were warned before we went that we would be continually harrassed by the locals selling their wares but this wasn't the case. A polite no thank you was all that was needed if anyone did try to hassle you. The beach is fantastic and shelves gently into the crystal clear sea making it good for bathing. We ate in the hotel every evening but some people got a taxi (4 dinars = approx £2-40) into Yasmine Hammamet where there were plenty of restaurants and bars. The place is steeped in history and there are plenty of really good excursions to go on. El Djem is a must. It is the Roman amphitheatre where Gladiator was filmed and it is breathtaking. Other good excursions are Dougga and Carthage. The weather when we were there was particularly hot (according to the locals), about 42 degrees in the shade! It just meant popping in the pool a bit more often and wasn't a problem. All in all we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely consider going back there.

This is the sixth Riu hotel that we have stayed in and it was every bit as good as the others. Once again the staff could not do enough for you and were attentive without being overbearing. The hotel is in a fantastic location right on the beach. The pool was never crowded and there are plenty of sunbeds. The rooms are very spacious and are kept exceptionally clean. The centre of Yasmine Hammamet is about one mile away. You could quite easily walk there down the beach but it is very hot and we found it better to get a taxi, which is very cheap.

Just returned from the Chich khan hotel very dissapointed as this is clearly not a 4 star hotel. The food was rubbish and the same everyday in the main dinning area, could not even eat at the pool bar as all food covered in flies. The beach bar no better looked like it has seen better days and you also have to pay for your drinks there which i thought a rip off as the hotel is all inclusive.Air conditioning very poor throughout the hotel and rooms not very pleasent when the temp was 30 degress at night.Maid servive poor stayed for 10 days and only 4 times was our room cleaned throughout. All 4 of our party got upset stomaches which we believe was down to the food and we were not the only ones many more people complaning thay felt unwell. After the 5th day thinking things were going to improve which thay didnt we compalained to the Thomos cook rep we had to fill a report out and was told to write in when we returnred to the u.k while doing this we found out many others had also complained about the same issues as us and some of the guests where even moved to another Hotel. There were a few good points the hotel was very nice huge place which you could get lost in the pool was great very big and never very crowded.Good waiter service never had to go to the bar even round the pool your drinks where brought over to you.
Overall a real let down this was my 4th time in tunisia and my previous holidays have been excellent was expecting good things being a 4 star and a ibeostar hotel. The hotel looks good but thats about it very boring with very little to do despite what the brochure might say.

Just returned from spending two weeks at this Hotel and I am happy to say that this is the best All Inclusive holiday that we have had. The staff were so friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. The hotel was spotless, and the rooms were big.
We are even trying at this moment to get booked up again for next year this time taking our two sons, my son's wife and our two grandchildren.
I would highly recommend this hotel to young and old alike.

The resort is only 7 years old and still needs a few finishing touches but there is a lovely line of restaurants by the harbour. It is a very pretty area. The clean beach is next to a wide promenade, very flat but not quite paved properly with holes for streetlights not yet put in, but watch out for the beach sellers, they were a real pain especially the fruit seller. Be prepared for hassle from all the shop owners everytime you walk past as they try to get you into their shops, which all sell the same stuff. Its ok first couple of times but then gets very tiresome, as do the street sellers with flowers and bracelets etc. There are loads of yellow taxis that beep as they go past you if you are walking everywhere and some horse and carraiges decked in flowers, for hire on the prom, but the horses are not looked after very well and with the heat you can really smell them as soon as you are near. If you go out at night though, groups of local youths seem to hang around on corners and seemed to start to follow passers-by for a few yards for no reason (even crossing roads behind them when it was obvious that the person was trying to avoid them)which some people would find intimidating. The resort seemed extremely quiet at night with hardly anyone in bars or restaurants, most people seemed to stay in their hotel complexes as majority seemed to be all-inclusive and had various entertainments, I can't say how busy it gets in high season.

Bit of a long transfer from airport but a new one is being built about 3/4 hour from resort due to open next year. first impressions when you enter the reception area are wow, this is impressive and the check-in is very efficiant with the porters taking your bags to your rooms (try to change up some money before you leave airport as we had no local currency at that point and couldn't give any tip, they are happy just with a dinar or 2. The hotel couldn't change up any money until later in the afternoon. The room was light and airy and quite large on ground floor near swimming pool in annexe building with a scrubby garden rather than balcony, but hadn't finished being cleaned when we arrived, and had a water pipe in a service cupboard behind the bathroom that fed the whole block and sounded like a hydrant permenantly gushing water at high pressure. I lasted a night with this and then asked for a different room the next day which was arranged with no hassle into the main building. The next room was really nice with good views / balcony but couldn't get the TV to tune in, although didn't miss it at all. The staff couldn't do enough for you at any time, and the animation team were very good as long as you interacted with them. If you weren't interested they wouldn't hassle you at all, but watch out for "sabotage" around the pool area. This is when someone gets chucked in whether they like it or not.The pool attendant will bring you cushions to go on the sunbeds (free) for a bit more comfort and there wasn't too much problem getting beds as long as you put a towel out by 9 to 10am. The pool area was good with lots of shady trees around and the bar opens all day with a good choice of food at lunchtimes, or you can go into the main restuarant to get a break from the sun. The evening entertainment was varied and so-so. We had no probs with food, always a good choice, with something for everyone's tastes (you would have to be very fussy to not like anything on offer) there was always lots of fresh salad, hot pizza and a grilltable. (omelettes cooked in front of you for breakfast) If all-inclusive, then all your drinks including cocktails were included. The only money apart from a few tips that I spent in hotel was 25dinar on a back massage in the hotel spa. There is a nice relaxed atmospere in the hotel, although might be different when lots of kids are there, all in all a very relaxing holiday that was a bit different from your normal med beach holiday
Resort was okay when the sun shined but rained for half our holiday, leaving us with nothing to do.

The hotel was a complete nightmare. We encountered sickness due to such poor hygiene, all of the food included in the buffet was "recycled" day after day. We suffered a week with no use of the toilet in our room as they would not fix it even though it was broken on arrival. The indoor pool is only lit by natural light, of which there is none on days of rain, leaving us with nothing to do and nowhere to go. This hotel was actualy sold to us as 5*, unbelievable! We would certainly not advise staying here!

didn't know Tunisia was closed during the winter. we went to a bar by taxi for a drink but it was a bit scary coz most of the people in the area were locals and didn't seem to like us being there.

The hotel is decoratively very tired and needs updating, it is not a 4 star as is advertised but more like a low three star. The staff are helpful and friendly including the animation staff, we were not pushed in to joining in the activities around the excellent pool. The food is OK although the menu is very limited and not to everyones liking. if you are AI then bottled water is included however this only comes in 1/2 litre bottles which are not cooled and sometimes very warm. We went on a 2 day trip called "The Sahara Experince" It has to be the worst most uncomfortable tiring boring rip off trip I have ever been on, It starts at 05:30 in the morning getting on the coach from here it picks up from various hotels and heads off for the north of the country, day 1 consists of a long drive to the roman ruins, not really much to see and not much time to see it in, oyu do have a couple fo rest stops along the way, the advert for the trip mentions the camel ride in the sahara, what it doesnt say is that when you get on the coach they want an extra 20 dinar for this. You visit a Berber house which is supposed to be lived in but it obviously isn't and an old lady turns up to give it some character, also a visit to a salt lake which again is disapointing as it looks like wet sand not like the salt lakes say in the US, before this is the camel ride, well what an experience, it is like a donkey ride at southend you are led out and then back agin along a well trodden route which takes approx. 1/2 an hour. the overnight hotel was OK although we left the bathroom door open and after washing / showering left the bath and basin plugs OUT. Big mistake as within an hour or 2 the whole room stunk of drains which made my wife heave as we entered the room after dinner. Day 2, in the morning you go to a waterfall to see the sunrise yes another 05:30 start, if you go for a wander and climb a few of the rocks leading up above the waterfall you find it isn't one at all as the water is. pumped there through a pipe

I have read some bad reviews about this hotel and staff. Many say that they dont like the British and how rude they were. All I can say is there must be two hotels, because we absolutely loved it, always smiling faces from all the staff, most spoke English and had a go if they didnt. My Godson still keeps asking where Shaky is now,one of the waiters, they really made a fuss of all of us. Food was good, wine was good compared to some places. The hotel was clean, tidy, granted not quite a 5 star more like a 4 star, we we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Would definately go back..

back! There were little trains(different colours depending where you want to go to) which were great to see the resort. Also horse-drawn carriages which were great too!
The medina is a ";must see"; although purpose built it is very impressive with lots to see and experience - shopping fantastic - although the shopkeepers hassle you to go into their shop - and won't let you out!!!
We stayed in the Green Golf Hotel on a half-board basis - although only a 3 star was really comfortable, clean and very well equipped. Every member of staff I met was very friendly, helpful and courteous. Waiters exceptional!! especially Afif and Mohamed. Rooms were very roomy and clean with good-sized balconies. The pool and garden area was fantastic - plenty of room and sun loungers. The only down-side was the Green Golf Beach - sun loungers without cushions and no toilet facilities - not very plentiful anywhere on the beach!
The Brits were out-numbered by Tunsian and Algerian holidaymakers who were also very friendly - it only takes a smile or ";Bon Jour"; and the ice is well and truly broken! The entertainment was really a one-man band so to speak his name is Bilek and he goes out of his way to please everyone! Tunisians and Brits joined in every night!!
The food was mostly Tunisian - plenty of variety and they tried very hard to please the english pallat (but there again you can't please everyone all of the time!) There were Brits who moaned about the food and went out to an English restaurant/bar for ";fry-ups"; and english roast dinners. Why go on holiday to a foreign country when all you want to eat is english food! Butlins were be a better holiday venue for them surely! We tried everything on offer and enjoyed every meal - did not eat out once!
We would definitely go back to The Green Golf Hotel in Hammemt Yasmine.
