Just returned from the Chich khan hotel very dissapointed as this is clearly not a 4 star hotel. The food was rubbish and the same everyday in the main dinning area, could not even eat at the pool bar as all food covered in flies. The beach bar no better looked like it has seen better days and you also have to pay for your drinks there which i thought a rip off as the hotel is all inclusive.Air conditioning very poor throughout the hotel and rooms not very pleasent when the temp was 30 degress at night.Maid servive poor stayed for 10 days and only 4 times was our room cleaned throughout. All 4 of our party got upset stomaches which we believe was down to the food and we were not the only ones many more people complaning thay felt unwell. After the 5th day thinking things were going to improve which thay didnt we compalained to the Thomos cook rep we had to fill a report out and was told to write in when we returnred to the u.k while doing this we found out many others had also complained about the same issues as us and some of the guests where even moved to another Hotel. There were a few good points the hotel was very nice huge place which you could get lost in the pool was great very big and never very crowded.Good waiter service never had to go to the bar even round the pool your drinks where brought over to you.

Overall a real let down this was my 4th time in tunisia and my previous holidays have been excellent was expecting good things being a 4 star and a ibeostar hotel. The hotel looks good but thats about it very boring with very little to do despite what the brochure might say.

July 2008

Just returned from spending two weeks at this Hotel and I am happy to say that this is the best All Inclusive holiday that we have had. The staff were so friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. The hotel was spotless, and the rooms were big.

We are even trying at this moment to get booked up again for next year this time taking our two sons, my son's wife and our two grandchildren.

I would highly recommend this hotel to young and old alike.

Bit of a long transfer from airport but a new one is being built about 3/4 hour from resort due to open next year. first impressions when you enter the reception area are wow, this is impressive and the check-in is very efficiant with the porters taking your bags to your rooms (try to change up some money before you leave airport as we had no local currency at that point and couldn't give any tip, they are happy just with a dinar or 2. The hotel couldn't change up any money until later in the afternoon. The room was light and airy and quite large on ground floor near swimming pool in annexe building with a scrubby garden rather than balcony, but hadn't finished being cleaned when we arrived, and had a water pipe in a service cupboard behind the bathroom that fed the whole block and sounded like a hydrant permenantly gushing water at high pressure. I lasted a night with this and then asked for a different room the next day which was arranged with no hassle into the main building. The next room was really nice with good views / balcony but couldn't get the TV to tune in, although didn't miss it at all. The staff couldn't do enough for you at any time, and the animation team were very good as long as you interacted with them. If you weren't interested they wouldn't hassle you at all, but watch out for "sabotage" around the pool area. This is when someone gets chucked in whether they like it or not.The pool attendant will bring you cushions to go on the sunbeds (free) for a bit more comfort and there wasn't too much problem getting beds as long as you put a towel out by 9 to 10am. The pool area was good with lots of shady trees around and the bar opens all day with a good choice of food at lunchtimes, or you can go into the main restuarant to get a break from the sun. The evening entertainment was varied and so-so. We had no probs with food, always a good choice, with something for everyone's tastes (you would have to be very fussy to not like anything on offer) there was always lots of fresh salad, hot pizza and a grilltable. (omelettes cooked in front of you for breakfast) If all-inclusive, then all your drinks including cocktails were included. The only money apart from a few tips that I spent in hotel was 25dinar on a back massage in the hotel spa. There is a nice relaxed atmospere in the hotel, although might be different when lots of kids are there, all in all a very relaxing holiday that was a bit different from your normal med beach holiday

The Chich Khan was our first hotel abroad and we are now reluctant to try anywhere else in case we are disappointed, mainly because nearly everybody we spoke to on our stay said it would take a lot to beat the staff who bent over backwards to make you feel special to the facilities and food both of which where fantastic.

This was a bit of a mixed bag hotel with many excellent aspects and many that have me already sending complaints to iberostar, the hotel and my holiday company (for the first time ever!).

The overall accomodation was good - the room was spacious and very clean. Although when it says all rooms have a balcony or terrace dont believe it - i had a window! Also, the shower was a nuisence and the shower holder does not hold the shower! However, the corridors felt like somethign out of a horro film with no windows, long winding corridors that were poorly lit.
The reception area and public areas of the hotel were all clean and certainly rather attractive with lots of space.

The food was....rubbish - alot of it was tunisian, which is ok, but alot of their cuisine can be unapptising (especially considering they cant serve pork and beef is a rarity). Also, the food was very repetative and lunch was the same everyday. Food was badly covered and hygiene practice was HURRENDOUS - Environmental Health would have swarmed the place had it been britain. Glasses didnt even get washed with soap - just a rinse with water.

The rep sue was fantastic - a lovely lady who really tried her best to solve all our problems and make sure that our holiday run smoothly. She had plenty of energy and always enough time for a holiday chat with her guests!

The staff in the hotel are generally polite and wonderful although one or two did have some difficulties and it could be rather annoying when reception told you something of yours hadnt been seen yet another guests saw them pick it up to be collected!?

Speakign of staff - the entertainer 'Nino' had several complaints against him and i am aware several people in our hotel are making complaints. Our rep, Sue, had had several words with nino, who could be immature, rude and rather ";too familiar";. He also pushed a few too many peopel in the pool including people with towels, ipods and brand new jeans (as occurred with my friends).

There was always plenty to do during the day but a night time was DEADLY!!!! The ";entertainment"; finished at about 10pm (although the entertainment was rarely spoken due to large numbers of languages and was rather dealy as people around the pool looked singularly unimpressed!) and after it finished there was nothing to do and after meeting many friends, we all wanted something to do apart from sit in a bar. There was a disco but only people over 18 could go so that basically left us all stuck - thankfully we'd packed ipods etc but made the hotel rather dull - NOT a place for the 12 - 17 age group.

All in all, the families we met made it a good holiday and the tunisian people are generally friendly. However, it will take some convincing to get me in the Chich Khan again!

We had booked the holiday well in advance on a little bit of an impulse (I must admit) but when I read the brochure and looked at the internet site for the hotel, I thought we'd booked what looked to be a fabulous hotel, location, everything! We were very pleased with the hotel and accomodation (room size) initially, but had problems with the food. Each one of our party fell ill during the 2 week stay at the hotel and also had an unpleasant experience in one of the restaurants, when we found a piece of metal in our youngest daughters meal. We were completely devestated by the episode and it ruined the rest of the stay because we were so cautious about what we were having to eat from that point onward.

The cleaning of the glasses and plastic drinks cups wasn't the best I've experienced and the food in the restaurants wasn't covered, which is how we believe we became ill. We returned almost one week ago and all of us are still suffering from effects and 2 of our party are suffering quite bad with some kind of stomach bug and we noticed that a few other parties staying in the hotel had fallen ill aswell.

I would not recommend this hotel received its 4 star rating at all although some of the services were very good, the general feel of the accommodation, based on my previous experience, would have only received a 3 star at best.
Extremely disappointing!!

Well we had such a good time as always (5 times now!!)I always wonder what planet people are on when they dont enjoy themselves at this Hotel. The staff are the most friendly people you could ever meet. Its like anywhere though if you do not bother to talk to them then they think you wish to left alone.

The food caters for every taste and there is always something, (even if its a bit of a mixture)that will suit, plenty of pasta, rice, chips or potatoes. Pizza is usually on most meals and loads of choice with the meats, plenty of veg and loads of salads. The cakes are to die for!! always ice cream and loads of fruit. There is a choice of smoking or non smoking seating and all drinks are brought to your table.

The entertainment team works really hard for 16 hours a day, always friendly and helpful, they put on great shows and always have you laughing, especially when things go wrong!!

The reception staff all speak perfect English so if you need to know anything, just ask, they are great.

Annette is the TC rep, she is a really lovely girl and will help with anything even if its not anything to do with Thomas Cook (she likes cherry coke and tonyand guy shampoo if you want to make her smile, take some with you for her!)

The trips are much cheaper and more fun with the guys that sit in reception but you must haggle for a good price.

The bar men and waiters are all so helpful, I had my arm strapped up after an accident in UK, they came to ask ME what drinks i wanted every night and did not expect any money for it.

Please do not be tempted to over tip any of the staff, they do not expect it and are very pleased with whatever you give them, remember they earn approx 1/4 what we do and everything is approx 1/4 the price of the UK to them (tourists get a much higher rate)

The mini club is fantastic, Dorsaf is the girl who runs it, she is very good and takes very good care of all age groups, with diferent things, every day twice a day and a 1/2 mini disco at 8.30pm every night.

The beach is a short stroll away 5-10 mins depending if you have kids or not!!!All inclusive soft drinks are served there and there is a snack bar, say hello to Ali (from Sue), he gets your sun lounger for you and puts it where you want for free.He will try his best to keep the beach sellers away from you if you ask him (They do get very anoying)and dont by the marlbourough cigs, they arnt real!!!!!

Well i would like to finish by saying Hello to everyone else that was there at the same time as me as I met loads of loverly people from all over the world, all enjoying ourselves in the homely, safe atmosphere of the Chich Khan.

For those of you who have not been yet, get there and enjoy, relax and chill.

Drinks excellent, food quite good. Warning, not enough sun beds. Rooms superb but no air con, just a warm air breeze. The animation team are a nuisance, in your face a bit too much. Location good but dont go in the sea as full of sewage, it gets cleaned off the beach but at the end of each day its piled about two foot high all along.

This was one of the best holidays we have had.We had never been to Tunisia before so didn't really know what to expect.

The only downside of our inward bound trip was the 1 an a half wait in line at passport control at Monastir, which I was later told is par for the course! Needless to say by the time we got to the hotel at 9.30pm the kids were shattered.

The hotel itself is ok, we got a very spacious family room which was cleaned every day, with air conditioning. I think the hotel is becoming a little tired and could do with a few quid spending on it.It was described as having a gym, but that was a joke as nothing worked. The corridors were also very dark so you could barely see one foot in front of the other.

The pool was great, we couldn't get the kids out.We never did venture to the beach it looked really dirty, there was lots of seaweed piled up.To be honest it didn't really bother us too much as the pool was so good.We did have to get up early to nab a sunbed, I dread to think what it is like in high season.
We went mid to late may and apart from one day the weather was perfect and we all got great tans!
Our favourite trip out by far was by taxi to Nabeul market on a friday. It's the place to bag a bargin and have hours of fun haggling. The shop owners are very persistant but we never felt threatened and they were really friendly.
It was the locals hospitality that really made our holiday especially the staff at the hotel, they couldn't do enough for us!

The restaurant staff and the animation team were great. They seem to work all hours and can be a little too enthusiastic.I've got to say the kids loved Dorsaf who runs the kids club.When you go into the restaurant for lunch and dinner all the staff queue up at the door and say";have a nice meal";
We had never been all inclusive before but would definately do it again as it was such good value for money. We only spent 200 pounds in the 2 weeks we were there and brought back loads of gifts.

We would definately go back again!

We have had the best holiday for years at this hotel.

This is the second iberostar hotel we have stayed in and both were excellent. The food was great something for everyone. Pancakes for breakfast and fresh fried eggs. Dinner and tea was varied and much choice was on offer with something done fresh on the hot grill at each meal. The pool bar did pizza and salads at dinner time. The drinks on the all inclusive was of quality in which you can drink unlike other places in the past we have visited. The animation team was fantastic nino went out of his way with the sporting activites whilst alex was brilliant with our daughter emily who is 1 1/2. Every member of the team were fantastic and treat people like thier friends including everyone in everything. Our daughter was ill in tunisia the hotel receptionist didnt hesitate in getting us a doctor at 1 am who came within 45 minutes all with medicine cost us £35 for a first class service which i felt reassuring having a young child.

My only reservations on the hotel was lighting areas were quite dark however it wouldnt put me off going back. Tunisia itself is a bit daunting the shop keepers try to drag you in everywhere so it puts you off looking as they will follow you looking around saying buy this etc.. just say no thankyou and mean it dont feel obliged to buy that stuffed camel you really dont want.

We had a great time on our holiday this was our first visit to tunisia so where a bit worried about what to expect.
On arival we where met at the door by one of the porters and after checking in where takin to our room with our luggage the hotel as you walk in is out of this world, and the rooms are very clean and we found we had plenty of room.
The maids come in every day and clean up behind you with clean towels nearly every day.
The people on reception are very friendly and always happy to help.
The restaurant is very big and food not bad but can become boring after two weeks and they dont do bacon so don't go looking for any at breakfast. The waiters are very funny one makes things out of napkins had us in stitches nearly every day.

The poolside is very clean and not to small you can sunbath by the edge of the pool or find somewhere a bit out of the way, but where ever you decide to pitch you will get a go tan.
The animation team, well what can i say, they are fantastic Chico, Nino, Amin, Dorfas, Alex, Morad and D J Ali.
they all work very long hours and work very hard day and night to get everyone involved, they are very friendly and my boys loved them to bits.
The kids club is also run by the animation team the lady is called Dorfas and she is great with the kids.

All in all we had a fantastic time and top marks to our rep annette we miss them all very much and where sad to leave but hope to return again in the near future.

First time we had to been to Tunisia, and well very pleased with everything about the holiday.

yasmine hammammet is a beautiful place , and the chich khan hotel was fantastic, the food was always fresh and hot it was a bit of mix n match but then you are in a foreign country!!.
The staff here were excellent, very helpful and friendly.
The pool was a bit cold when u first get in but it warms up very quick! If you have booked all inclusive then it is fantastic value for money as every food and drink item even cocktails are inclusive, no catches at all!!

Alcohol isnt on the list of priorites here so grab a bottle from duty free on your way out!!

sunbeds are available and although you shouldnt reserve them, u do find yourself getting up at 7 to beat some of the other holiday makers! ( no need to name the country that you have to beat!!)

the shop owners do tend to pester and bug you but you get this every where, its not to bad in yasmine but we went to hammamet and got stuck in a carpet shop for over an hr! I reccommend the shopping trip to the fixed price shop in sousse and also frigira animal park, water park was good to.

over all the only complaint was that the air con wasnt on when we were there.
also the airport coming home can be a bit chaotic.

Would recommend this hotel to couples and families, we are going back with our two children 11,6 next year.

Thanks to all the staff how who worked so hard to make our holiday a great relaxing break. Even though it was Ramadan they kept smiling and offering efficent service. A Special thanks top Anis top barman in all Tunisia he was great.

If the hotel was full then there would be a problem with sun beds. The only people that booked sun beds early were the British.

The rooms were spotless and the food was moslty very good. The room does not have a Mini bar but an in room fridge.

The resort was safe to walk around and I would visit this hotel again.

Having never been to Tunisia before, we travelled here only having been told by a few of our friends that it was a lovely country with very friendly people. This indeed was very true!

We have just come back from a wonderful holiday that our whole family greatly enjoyed. The CHICH KHAN is a great hotel... the service provided all round was excellent. Our room was large! We had a huge double bed (my husband is 6 ft 3";) and the girls had a comfy ";proper"; single bed each (no settees doubling up as beds). The maid service was also superb... the room was cleaned every day, fresh towels every day, in fact we could not complain at all with this service. As other people have said they go the extra mile with little touches such as petals on the pillows, arranging bed clothes in pretty shapes. We celebrated our wedding anniversary during our stay and they rolled bed sheets into a huge heart shape on our bed and filled it in with tiny little petals... beautiful! Just don't order bouquets of flowers as getting hold of a large vase was something we couldn't achieve!! I also have to say that the Air Cond. was wonderful and much needed!

Eating here was the only major downfall of this holiday. Three members of our family aren't particularly fussy (I loved the food by the way!) but our eldest daughter is and all she ate really was pasta bolognese and chips, although the pancakes were a definite favourite! I must say though that this did not spoil the holiday for any of us!

Trips we took were the Pirate Ship ";Sultan II"; great fun!(We went with ";Ali"; who sits in the reception area rather than with the Thomas Cook rep as his was much better value for money). We also did the 2 day SAHARA ADVENTURE trip which was superb and well worth the money. It covered 60% of the country and we saw some sights! The highlight was a CAMEL trip in the Sahara but a word of warning! Temperatures rose to 48 degrees or so we were told and the kids couldn't cope so we had to turn back half way through. We all agreed afterwards though that we were glad we had done some of it as it really is an experience. We also did the ARABIAN NIGHT which featured belly dancing and juggling acts among other things with food and drink thrown in all night. Good fun!

We also did the MEDINA or market place which we'd heard could be a bit of a nightmare with people dragging you into the shops, especially if you're blond. This proved untrue at least in our case and two of us are blond!... you get lots of ";lubbly jubbly"; and ";Asda Price"; and my husband proved a whizz at haggling, much better than me!

One last thing, SUN BEDS!!!!!! There really isn't enough to go around. We were told straight away that if you wanted these you'd have to get up mighty early to reserve them ie. lay your towels out! After 2 days of refusing to do this and then hunting around uselessly for sun beds to lie on, I relented and used to get up at 6 am every day! Normally we're beach bods but this year the kids preferred the pool so we had no choice! Still I'd do it with my eyes shut then go back to bed! Anything for happy children! I must mention that the ANIMATION TEAM worked tirelessly throughout the day to keep everyone entertained!

To sum up, we were all very happy bunnies during this hol! The kids made loads of friends which meant we were happy and relaxed. Three people who we must mention is ANIS the barman, MOHAMMED in the restaurant and JIMRA the waiter... top people!

We all got great tans too!
