I have read some bad reviews about this hotel and staff. Many say that they dont like the British and how rude they were. All I can say is there must be two hotels, because we absolutely loved it, always smiling faces from all the staff, most spoke English and had a go if they didnt. My Godson still keeps asking where Shaky is now,one of the waiters, they really made a fuss of all of us. Food was good, wine was good compared to some places. The hotel was clean, tidy, granted not quite a 5 star more like a 4 star, we we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Would definately go back..

didn't know Tunisia was closed during the winter. we went to a bar by taxi for a drink but it was a bit scary coz most of the people in the area were locals and didn't seem to like us being there.

The hotel was a complete nightmare. We encountered sickness due to such poor hygiene, all of the food included in the buffet was "recycled" day after day. We suffered a week with no use of the toilet in our room as they would not fix it even though it was broken on arrival. The indoor pool is only lit by natural light, of which there is none on days of rain, leaving us with nothing to do and nowhere to go. This hotel was actualy sold to us as 5*, unbelievable! We would certainly not advise staying here!

Having read the previous reviews I was desperate to change our choice of hotel in Tunisia. All I can say is that I'm really pleased that we didn't.
Firstly the hotel is 5 star but a Tunisian rating, do you honestly expect it to be an English 5 star hotel for the price they charge? The beer is an excellent lager, not at all cloudy and was ice cold at all times.
The staff were excellent and spoke good English, especially considering they have to speak Italian, French and German as the first choice languages at this resort. English guests are in the minority here so if you like being surrounded by loud, drunk, sunburnt, tattooed English eating pie, chips and gravy then this ISNT the resort for you. Myself and my girlfriend wanted a chilled out week away in the sun and that's exactly what we got.

We got talking to the waiters and they actually confessed to much preferring the English to the other nationalities who stayed there. Be aware that it is a poor country and the men are not used to seeing ladies in bikinis, so they do stare and are not as skilled as British men in subtly looking. I wouldn't recommend you go without you male partners but this is the Countries North African culture and not the fault of the hotel.

The hotel was spotlessly clean including our room which was immaculate, cleaned daily and we had fresh towels everyday. We never got any stomach problems and we ate everything off the menu. The food was excellent, for breakfast they cooked pancakes in front of you as well as omelettes. They bake fresh bread and the choice of foods covers all tastes. What they don't have is English food such as Pie and gravy, curry or marmite or beans on toast ! To be honest I didn't really eat much differently to how I do at home - they have fresh salad, even chips, soup, fresh fish, potatoes, veggies, home made burgers, chicken, chillies and risotto dishes to name but a few. The choice of puddings was better than most decent restaurants in the UK. The best part was the fact that you could have unlimited 1.5 litre bottles of still water between 10am and midnight - something which I have never experienced before on an all inclusive holiday I must point out that they only have 2 types of spirits available; both 40% made from figs and dates and are really nice. They use real Coke/diet Coke not a cheap alternative, the wine is good both red, white and rose. As said before the beer is really good although served in half pints but its ice cold, in the heat a pint would soon warm up hence why its served as it is.

The design of the hotel is traditional which means it does have dark areas i.e. keeping cool in the heat of summer! As for only having 'emergency escape lights' in the corridors they are in fact light bulbs with traditional shades, certainly not blinding bright lights but that's the traditional design for that country. If you don't know what a troglodyte is then maybe Tunisia isn't for you. The beach 20 feet away was beautiful as was the 3 pools. The sun loungers were comfortable, plentiful and you didn't have to reserve them at 6 in the morning, better still there was NO loud music being pumped out by the pool when we went in May - heaven if you want to snooze.

The German and Italian reps were always polite and even said Good morning to me on several occasions. When we went, all the evening entertainment was in German and Italian, predominantly aimed at kids but we dint go on holiday for the evening's entertainment - we went for the SUN. Again if you want entertainment stay in the UK and got to the Opera! But then again that's likely to be in Italian!
The weather was great in May although it was windy for several of the days and im sure some people would try to complain to someone at the hotel for the weather!

There are very few all inclusive places I would return to and this IS one of them. All the young (ish) English couples liked the place and the 'older' English couples seemed to be moaning about everything - they expected so much for so little. No this isn't a UK 5 star hotel but it's realistically a 3 star and you pay 3 star prices as a result!
this really is a great place to go.

Having read the reports of the hotel AFTER booking it, we considered changing before departure, but then decided to make our own minds up - and we were glad we did!

Being a ";girlie"; week away with my sister, we were looking for some sun and relaxation, which we found in bucket loads at the Yasmine Beach Hotel. Of course, the weather wasn't down to them!!

I had upgraded us to a Junior Suite, to ensure we had some space, but I needn't have bothered, having seen the standard rooms, we would have been fine, but were glad of the sitting area that the junior suite gave us.

The hotel was just as the pictures show - dark in areas, with very interesting architectural designs. As we were ";out of season"; (another thing we were glad about), most of the restaurants were closed, but having booked half board, we actually signed up to All Inclusive part way through the week, as we enjoyed the food so much.

The staff were great. And although the British contingency was small, they treated us very well. We were impressed with their English, especially as they seemed to move seamlessly from Arabic to French, German, Italian into English! Okay, not everyone spoke good English, but they were better than my Arabic and they were very willing to learn.

We indulged in the 3 day Relaxation course offered at the ";Relax Centre"; and felt throughly pampered afterwards. We were able to pick our own times for treatments and I actually had a couple of extra massages to help me de-stress. The cost was not too great and less that I would pay here. We both recommend the Relax Centre, if you go to the hotel.

Down sides:- The main outdoor pool is not heated. To get to the other outdoor pool (also unheated), you had to go through a building site! We didn't have a mini-bar in the room, nor any tea/coffee making facilities, but there was a fridge and bottle opener! Our room was next to a storage room which caused us some disturbed sleep, as the light from the room shone into ours through a grill. There were a lot of men around, all eager to get you into their shops, which put us off shopping and going to the Medina's. Some of the staff were also a bit over friendly, but once you put them off, they were generally good.

Service, overall was great and we would go back again, but with our husbands!!
