Excellent location, staff very friendly, but because you can go all inclusive you get alot of Germans and Swedish people there. We felt it was like spot the English family there. We went self catering and there are plenty of little supermarkets close - by. The rooms were cleaned everyday which we didnt expect, but if all you want is a base then this is it. The pool was very clean no bits floating around or dead flies like some places have. Wouldnt reccommend you going all inclusive food looked the same everyday. There are pleny of restaurants along the beach road Big Ben and Istanbul where they serve a good steak. We travelled by dolmus to the nearby Cleopatra Beach which is absolutely gorgeous, pure sand, no rocks, very clean. Would go back to this area again

we have just returned fron a week here with children and grandchildren, not knowing what to expect in november we were pleasently suprised, 1st day we were on beach sunbathing.. not boiling just nice, next 2 days rain and thunder but still warm, then 3 days very hot , again on beach, even though we found out when we got there the rainy season starts on nov 5th!! rooms were fabulous very big, beds comfy, spotless, soft drinks were stocked in ur fridge every day, service brilliant, restaurant very big clean, staff efficeint and helpful, food great with good choices for kids as well, snack bar was more like a restaurant but pizzas and burgers lovely, loads of pools and slides but water was cold so never went there, but indoor pool brilliant kids had a ball, sauna, steam room, turkish baths all free very luxurious,(massages etc are extras)entertianment team were excellent and very proffessional, staff were very helpful at all times and the rep steph was full of info and ALWAYS there which made a nice change, right on beach with a kids play area there,we lay for hours while they happily played away.bowling alley ,pool tables, games machins all downstairs(but payable),but it was great aving them there. now the downside,.. shop in hotel VERY expensive £8 for armbands for 2yr old, crisp £1.50. take plenty with you if you like snacks as there is nowhere around you to go, all in all we got a good deal and we were very pleased with everything.we were returning on 1am flight and it is £60 to keep your room on till 6pm and £100 till midnight which was a big ripoff, however you can pay for a trip £28 adult,£14 for kids over 3 yrs , you get picked up last day at 8.30am, took to waterfalls near antalya, which is a must see, then to antalya old town which is fab, lunch by harbour very posh.. all included ..took to market then shopping mall, then check into hotal in centre, evening dinner included, till your pick up time then took to airport which is 15mins away,if you dont fancy hanging round hotel lobby in atalantis then go on this trip it is a lovely place to visit as you get to see some of the places ..much better than what we expected after reading some of the reveiws, and we have stayed in some lovely 5 star hotels and this matched up to all of them, had great time.

With all the amenities, this is 5*. But, the food is great if you are Russian or German. The eating areas are clean if you get there early and put yourselves at risk to the crush. The broken or chipped plates and cups put you off, but get over that with a few glasses of wine, which is not bad. We were there low season and assumed that they were winding down, as facilaties were sparse. We found the evening entertainment quite good, once you accept the amount of time spent on explaining the show in various National tongues. Then the show envaribly being performed in English and everyon joining in. STRANGE. The room was basic and if like us you like to wind down before dinner with a bit of telly. Forget it. One BBC channel of repeats, thats it with 32 channels.

Always stayed in Old Side, have not been to the new Side where there are large all inclusive and half board hotels. The people in old Side are very friendly and will look after you. Stayaway from the harbourside where the staff in the restaurants and shops are very pushy and everything is overpriced.

A small 20 bedroom hotel situated in Old Side approx 50 meters from the town beach. This hotel is set within its own quiet garden complete with a small swimming pool. All rooms have air conditioning included in the price. Rooms are quite small and basic but are clean and bedding and towels changed every other day. The majority of guests are from the Netherlands but the staff speak English and we were made welcome. Those who know Old Side will know that there are numerous restaurants in the area catering for all tastes.

Paloma Perissia

We stayed at the Paloma Perissia for two weeks and had a fantastic time. We have stayed in five star all inclusive hotels in the caribean and this hotel is just about on par with them.

The food in the buffet was probably the most varied I have ever had in an all inclusive and pretty much ever night I had no problems picking something to eat (things such as lasagna, half roast chicken, chicken chow mein, kebabs etc). Breakfast are the usual affair with cereals, toast, fried eggs, omlettes etc). There are also four a la carte restaurants, we tried them all apart from the fish restaurant and had excellent food in them all. Most days we had our lunch at the restaurant over looking the sea which was very nice. There is a lady who sits near the pool during the day making fresh crepes (chocolate, sugar, cheese and parsley, & meat fillings) to order if you’re feeling a bit peckish. You can also get ice creams between 3 and 4 in the afternoon and if you’re still hungry after all that there is the patisserie on the 3rd floor where you can get cakes in an afternoon. There is a large terrace on the third floor so you can take your cake out there and sit over looking the pool and beach. We did one day after going for a walk and it felt so relaxing.

The staff in hotel are genuinely very friendly and not just because they want a tip.

The grounds are exceptionally clean and well maintained. There are three swimming pools, one of which has a very shallow end which starts at about 1cm high which was great for my one year old son. We never had any problems getting sun beds as we were normally up early but looking round during the day there always seemed to be some beds free. There is also a fourth pool with two slides going into it, this opens twice a day as there has to be a life guard on duty. The slides are great fun even for grown ups.

The night time entertainment was slightly disappointing. We would normally watch a little bit of it and then go up to the bar for a few drinks. There was never any queuing for drinks although the cocktails didn’t seem too strong as there are prepared in advance.

The rooms are more like a four star hotel and a lot of them only have French balcony’s unless you pay extra for a proper one. There’s satellite TV in the room which has 3 or 4 english channels. Your fridge is stocked daily with water, coke and cartons of juice.

if you want to know more email me but put the hotel name in subject line.

We stayed here on the 28th oct 08 till 5th nov 08. iv never been to a hotel where there is nothing to do and is surrounded by a war zone. The whole area looked like the yanks had dropped bombs on iraq. The food is cold, The whole complex is full of perverts, and i mean the staff not the ppl staying there. Every bar staff and restaurant staff tried it on with my girlfriend and her sister. Even after being told several times to stay away they don't give in. I reported it all to the manager. She said no no no, my staff are good, nothing like that happens here. I can not tell you how much this site is derelict. There is nothing but 3 little shops that sell sweets (well there is your kids entertainment). The only fun we had here is when a few of us got together and threw many staff fully clothed into the pool. That was the highlight of the holiday. all you can do is sit by a pool, or have so many perverts trying it on with your partners. DON'T USE THIS HOTEL. Also we went to Alanya, what can i say, What a bunch of tossers they are. We were conned, robbed and harassed so much we had to run back to the bus stop and go back to the hole of a hotel. I had 2 daughters with me, 10 and 13. They felt so unsafe around the Turks. They are horrible people who do not like us in their country. Oh yes also don't book excursions, we we conned by the rep of 225 lira and told we will get it back at the airport, ye right. More chance of the manager sacking the staff at the hotel. Look at my pics, you will see for yourself. happy holidays if you risk it there. P.S it wont let me upload pics, but if you want them email me

Side is ancient (pre-roman) Lots of ruins (all that marble lying about can make the place look untidy). Lots of shops in town centre (try saying 'nine danke' and they might leave you alone a bit more!) Lovely beaches (turtles swim off 1 of them). Try the Red Lion (300m from hotel) Family friendly, good food and lots of premiership football; Adem is a real gem.

Was supposed to be 55 C in high summer. In oct, was high 20's a good 10C higher than anywhere else in Turkey (this is not a guarantee!)
