My husband and I went to pine beach club/maritime in june 08. The weather was brill 40degrees, complex really lovely, right on the beach, pools for all ages, waiter & bar staff really nice, rooms nice, clean but not spectacular for 5* rating. Now things I would want to know, the hotel is full of very arrogant russians, so if you want a pool sunbed, do as we had to, set your alarm for 6am to hopefully get one. Then evening entertainment, the russians put the kids toys, tie the chairs together etc. To try and reserve the tables prior to dinner, so when you get there you stand and watch the entertainment, which we only did a couple of times as it is all geared towards russians & mostly in their language, the entertainers are all russian. The whole resort of belek is made of 90% russian visitors hense geared to them. If a brithish guest joins in in entertainment ie miss belek they dont clap. If you thought germans were bad, they dont have a look in comparing to them. Loads of british guests have complained about the entertainment, including us but it falls on deaf ears. People with kids complained about kiddie clubs as they were all in russian ie russian videos, games in russian etc. The bar staff dont tell u that there is a list of cocktails free behind the bar to ask for, but display on tables the paying ones which cost 10euros. P.S. Dont bother taking lira they all and I mean all work with euro, we had lira and you should have seen them trying to covert cost of something. To summarise all this, hotel looks lovely, food good, staff nice, accommodation fine, but entertainment poor. Day and night, all geared towards the russians. Most nights we were in bed by 11pm and were not old. The thomas cook rep agreed there is not much she can do about it due to being a russian lead resort.

Thomas cook do not tell u this resort is 90% russian visitors who are worse that the germans. It is hard to find english speaking guests and when you do we all talk about russians. Belek centre is either a tractor ride away from the hotel 2 euros or a tax...

We have just returned from a 14 night holiday in Belek, Turkey (5 Sun Ai Belek Allocated on Arrival)with Thomas Cook.
We were very disappointed.
No Sign of 5 Star here at all.
We were dumped at the Maritim Pine Beach Resort at 3.00 am, shown to our room (Room 1562) and slept. The room was of reasonable size but with very average furniture - chipboard table etc (chipboard showing), cracked mirrors to wardrobes, stained valence to bed, only one armchair, broken mosquito net to balcony which only had two tatty plastic chairs, no safety markings to glass, a mini fridge which struggled to work. The bathroom was showing signs of age, stained bath edge, gaps to tiling, a shower head which had to be replaced, the water was randomly very hot or very cold, the bath water took ages to run away, little in the way of toiletries, cheap rough towels. Air conditioning either not working, only on at certain times and when working ineffective ( 4 hours to go from 80degs to 73degs - the lowest in would go).

The restaurant was also very disappointing, tablecloths were rarely changed and we would normally have to sit at a slightly grubby table, paper napkins or more like tissues - occasionally cloth for dinner if you were early. The food was ok when you could find it hot - not too often, and I would question some practices like putting hot cooked food on top of that which has gone cold. The food improved when they had a conference on. Should you have to hunt for cutlery and napkins at a 5*? The waiters who served wine could not do so without spilling it on the table.
As to the All inclusive concept, they had the smallest selection of drinks, no ice cream in the restaurant and only available around the pool for two hours a day. Only water in mini bar. The bartenders were generally poorly trained and often couldn't mix the few cocktails they served correctly (by the standard set by their menu) . Drinks stopped at midnight - which even the Rep thought poor.
The pool and beach area were reasonable except for that you couldn't change beach towels every day as hotel suggests and the tables and beach beds should be cleaned more often.

In general the air conditioning in the hotel was poor, there was no supervision at the indoor pool or Gym. The hotel is understaffed and the staff poorly trained which looks to me like bad management. The majority of the staff were pleasant, a few very helpful and a small number very rude. The hotel is more interested in it's conferences than holiday guests. Both the rep and the hotel Guest Relations officer suggested management problems and neither thought the hotel was up to 5sun standard.

We have been on a number of all inclusive holidays in Europe (mainly 4* or 3*), and stayed at all types of holiday hotels/ accommodation from Greek Rooms to The Dorchester in London and understand the differing standards. We have friends stay at other hotels in this resort and they were shocked at the standard of this hotel. It should not be included under a 5 sun/star heading

Good points-
1.) The entertainment team are really friendly and love to get everyone involved.
2.) The variety of food is brilliant, and there is something for everyone (try the pitta breads with mince meat)
3.) The hotel rooms are spotless and comfy.
4.) The pool is exceptionaly clean (but a bit cold)
5.) The massage part of the hotel is quite expensive but worth it, we had the full body massage and it was excellant.
6.)Belek town was good for clothes and i spent around £200.
7.) The beach is lovely and you have plenty of space to relax (not everyone is piled on top of each other)
8.)The club which opens about 11ish is good for the younger crowd but is good for older adults too.

Bad points-
1.) The apua park opened the day after we left, so we werent very happy about that.
2.) The entertainment was good in the day, but at night it was mainly in Turkish and German, so for the 3 or 4 English families we felt a bit left out.
3.) Although Belek town was good for clothes, the area wasnt that good and not much really too do.
4.) Foriegners are quite rude especailly when we were trying to watch a show and they stand directly in front of you.
5.)Also we put are drinks on a table and went too get are food, came back out and two lads had moved are drinks and sat at are table, we weren't that bothered, but thought it was very rude.

Overall though i would reccommend the Club Pine Beach and i certainly would go again.

Would love to go back to this hotel, very large complex set in scenic grounds. Kids loved the pool slides and sandy beach with free lilos and parasols. More Germans than English at hotel, but complex so large did not see the same faces day in day out. Would highly recommend hotel but if you go into Belek go on a Saturday to the market as during week we were pestered by shopkeepers
