We had a fantastic time in the Arum. We have been to Turkey before, but never experienced anything like the Arum. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pools were kept to a very high standard and very safe for children. Cost wise the Arum was quite expensive for drinks etc, but the standard of service reflected this. The Arum garden party was a night we will never forget, as it was an amazing time. The room we had was more than adequate and kept to a very high standard by the domestic staff, especially Gulay who serviced our room daily.
Side is a place that everyone should try and visit.

The arum hotel and apartments is the best hotel i have ever stayed at. Normally we would not go back to the same hotel but this year was our 5th visit to the arum. we stay in the apartments and they are ver spacious and comfortbale. Everything in the arum is immaculate. It is decorated really nice and it just feels like home. the food in the retaurant is really nice, and there is so much choice for everybody. The garden party is not to be missed as that is such a good night. the beach is really clean, and they have some really good watersports down there. we found that the people to the right of the hotel were the best. They have things like banana boat, paragliding, jet ski's ringos etc.We also went white water rafting which is a really good day out. It is also much cheaper if you book it through people outside the hotel rather than the travel agents. there is alway somethign to do at night at the arum. there is the show for the litle ones, there is the pool bar which plays music and then for tennagers and that there is the club which is really good. Or if you want a quiet night in then the hotel is never noisy. the pool is just fantastic! the best pool i have ever been too, it is massive and there is also a poll bar which is really good. The staff at the arum are so friendly and are always doing things for you. side itself is nice and there are also a few bars and restaurants just over the road from the arum which we preffered more than actaully going into side. Overall i would say that the arum is a fantastic hotel and i would recommend it to anyone, families, couples, older people. its the kind of hotel where you make it how you want it. Theres lots to do if thats what you want, but on the other hand if you also want a nice relaxing holiday you can do that too. the spa is also excellent ! i cant wait to go back in two years time.
side is a very nice place

After staying in a Barut Hotel previous and reading the reviews for the hotel we decided to book the Arum.
We have been coming to Turkey for 12 years in various resorts and sometimes 3 times in a year we believe we can give a rounded opinion. What you have to understand a 5* hotel in Turkey is not the equivilant to a 5* in the Carribean or even the UK this country is a maturing country.
Never the less this Hotel was excellent, imaculately clean, very good food and service, bath robes in the room, and imaculate grounds and pool area. The pool area in this hotel is unusual in the fact many Turkish hotels only have quite deep pools for non swimmers and this pool shelved from zero depth to a maximum of 1.4 metres. There are two main pools and a kids pool. They have a private beach with the best sand I have ever seen in Turkey. The food ranged from grilled steaks, chicken, lamb to roast chicken/ Turkey to salads, cheeses, even chips which were hot every night along with a huge selection of deserts including ice cream by the bowl or cone. Breakfast was freshly cooked fried/scrambled/boiled eggs and sometimes pancakes or omelettes.
There are pubs/ restaurants nearby which The Brothers appear to serve the best food but the most hospitable by far was the Staudamm Bar which screens Premiership football and the owner Mustaffa will give you a big Turkish welcome and a free departing drink, nibbles and fruit platter to show you his appreciation. PLEASE stay away from the Fizz bar as they have been known to add things to your drink.
We went on the Antalya trip for £3 each which was a total bargain and the Unimog Safari which was the best trip for fun I have ever experienced for £17 each which included lunch and a donkey riding.
After 12 years we had decided to move on to different countries but after this hotel/ holiday we have to return to Turkey as we dont belive we could get any better in the med as it was brilliant.
Visit Side centre, Manavgat market, book the trips on the street (they are totally safe and reps are using scare tactics to rip you off).
Overall excellent holiday, hotel and value for money.

A slice of paradise. Superb hotel with 5* food and facilities. Free sunbeds , towels and brollies on the private beach and a 2 lira dolmus ride into Side. This was our 3rd trip to Turkey -Marmaris and Gumbet previously - but this was the best.Although it was said that there were 60% German, 30% Russian and 10% others including Brits in the area, the lager lout element did not exist. On half board we did not sample the local locantas but drinking out is no longer cheap ,on a par with UK ,so make use of the "; happy hours";. Evening entertainment for adults was poor but for climate, resort and hotel this combination would be hard to beat.

Just returned from the best holiday I have had in years. Having never been to Turkey before was not sure of what to expect but I was very surprised. The Arum Hotel is pure 5 star luxury. We stayed in the hotel part of the complex and could not fault it in any way. The room was absolutely great although land facing and not sea facing as requested but found it nice and quiet. The hotel itself was absolutely immaculate. The ground of the hotel were very well maintained with maintenance and gardening carried out every day. The staff at the hotel were wonderful and polite (even sometimes comical) and helped to ensure that we had the best holiday ever. Very good choice of food and something for everyone even my father who is a fussy eater. A desert table to die for. The swimming pool was great the biggest I have ever seen and the deepest was 1.4 metres so was ideal even for less confident swimmer like me! A must is the Happy Hour between 5.30 and 6.15 where you buy and get one free. You are also given bowls of crisps with drinks and they were always replenished when finished. Only went on the beach twice but a real holiday atmosphere there. The staff were very friendly and would do anything for you.
Only ventured into Side once as preferred to stay in the hotel.
All in all a fantastic holiday (I practically cried when I had to come home as felt time went to fast) would recommend to anyone, cant wait to go back next year and will definitely be booking to go back next year.
Would book tomorrow if I could but will wait a few months.
