Fabulous hotel very clean, very friendly, excellent food, there is a great swimming pool on the roof, also you can use the other pools and slides in the holiday village.
Good choice of restaurants, sandy beach.
We went on the boat trip with the Linda water sport on the beach to dolphin island and we saw dolphins for the first time!
Only the slight problem we had a heat wave for two weeks about 50 degrees in the day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Next year we are going next door to the Hemera ...

This is an excellent hotel which about lives up to its 5* rating. We were all inclusive, good food, plenty of drinks. A tip, get in early for meals, there aren't really enough tables until some are vacated. Hotel is on the beach (down 2 lifts) the other way is a longish walk to the main road with Taxis and cheap Dolmuses (minibuses). The main town is 2k away.
Weather for two weeks end March/April hot and sunny everyday except rain two afternoons and a gale one night.
Our problem was that we were the only two Brits amongst 500 elderly Germans, eventually a few tatooed Brits with disruptive children arrived for Easter, so which was best?
This whole coast is taken over by Germans, even the prices are in Euros; the Turkish people are lovely and can speak English when they realise.
The Melas Hotel is next to the Melas holiday village which is run separately, although some facilities are shared.

Visited the Mealas Resort in Easter break in April all inclusive.

Weather: Varied from early 20's to mid 30's only a few days we couldn't sun bathe out of the 14 so that was better than expected.

Food: Excellent, even though we were there for 14 days they tried to vary it daily and the food hygiene standards were excellent. We ate mainly in the Hotel restaurant and the beach bar, we did try the Village restauarnt one lunch and that was of an equal standard. Drinks consited of Efes larger which was fine and then locally produced equivalents which again were fine. Coffe and cakes were served at 4.30-5.30 and for most of the rest of the day there always food available including Ice Creams.

The Hotel standard was very high and everywhere was kept exceptionally clean from toilets to the beach areas and gardens, they were constantly maintained.

Staff: All staff were very helpful and despite sometimes a language barrier were always polite and attentive. Exceptional staff were Halil who worked the restaurants and bars and Petra who was the Guest relations, she was more helpful and informative than the Thomas Cook rep. Animation team worked very hard and there were activities right through the day including, Boules, volleyball, shooting, football, darts, shuffleboard, aerobics etc etc.

Entertainment: The evening entertainment when we were there the first week was held in the Disco bar as we were out of season, it was ok and then moved to the Peninsual House for the second week as the hotel filled up. It generally consisted of Karaoke, bingo and the odd show/comedy sketch from the team usually performed in at least 2 different languages!!The Amphitheatre wasn't open at that time of year and I think this would have added another dimension to the entertainment. The water slides were due for opening the day after we left!!! The outside pools in the Village and the Hotel were freezing and not many people used them becasue of this which is a shame and probably an area for improvement by the Hotel. The Beach was lovely with guards constantly watching over so it was very safe, you could go parasailing, jet ski etc if you wanted and Side is about a 30min walk along the beach. You will get nagged by restauarnts etc to go in and eat but it wasn't a problem, they were all very friendly and if you politely said no they would wish you a good day so not like our experience in Tunisia.

excursions: didn't do any of the Thomas Cook one's as they were expensive but visited Side and Manavgat Waterfalls which were via a boat trip. Use the Dolmus as they are really cheap and get you about quite smoothely if not over loaded!!

We took mainly Euros and everything was priced in euros but you could use English or Lira. When bargaining for pricing aim for about 1/2 of hat they initially ask for. You know when you have hit the lowest price as they will let you walk out the shop!! Boat trip in Manavgat was ok we only paid 16 euros for 2 adults and 2 children so it was worth the money.

Dont use the cashpoint machine outside the hotel as there were reports of cards being eaten so we went to the Fortis bank in Manavgat and no problems.

The hotel was 99.9% Germans and for periods of time we were the ONLY English but I think the ratio's improve towards Summer. It did not make ANY difference to our Holiday and all the Germans we met were really friendly and no issues with pushing in etc.

Rooms: we had booked in to the Apartments and had requested an upper level but were put in a ground floor one. We asked Petra if we could be moved and the next day we were in the Suite in the Hotel!! Thanks Petra. Rooms cleaned everyday and the mini bar stocked everyday aswell with Efes, Coke, Fanta, Water etc. No need to take beach towels as these are provoded by the hotel.

Tried the turkish bath in the Hotel which was good fun, you can sue the Sauna, steam room ect for free and the gym which was limited

We would highly recommend this hotel and Side, the weather was great and the prices are excellent for All Inclusive.
