Stayed for 2 weeks. Hotel does not have a lift and climbing 3 floors in heat was not so great. Hotel staff were very friendly and up for a laugh. Apartment was clean and basic but perfectly ok. We had booked a 2 bed but ended up with a 1 bed instead and were given free air con, safe box and half board upgrade. Half board food was nice although the breakfast was catering for Germans rather than English. The turkish evening was worth booking. Side is nice and the ruins are worth a visit. We took lira when they seemed to prefer to take Euro's. Prices were given in Euro's and then doubled for Lira which meant that we paid more for everything! We found this area more expensive than the Dalaman region. Beware trips as there are many stops along the way that you pay extra for. There is a free bus to the beach but the sea was rough, too rough for small children. Overall had a good holiday, very hot weather. Good value for money.

The blue lagoon was the best it was clean and very safe for the children. It was the best holiday i have had abroad. The locals are all friendly great sights to see. The sun was very hot. We are planning to back in 2009. Loved Turkey and the hotel. Very much for families.

The rooms are spotless, plenty big enough and cleaned daily. You pay an extra £35 a week for air-con but we had a shaded room and managed without it the second week even though the temp was in the late 30's!
The pool is great but rather deep (1.45 - 1.6m) and if you want a sun bed you need to claim one by 8:30am otherwise forget it!
Alfie the barman is great and happy hour is everynight between 10 and 11pm.
We only ate at the hotel restaurant twice as Umut's down the road or Cihan just round the corner are great value for money.
The beach is a good 10 minute walk away and is VERY crowded with Germans and Turks so it is easier to stay round the pool.

The walk into Side takes 35 minutes along the beach and is well worth the effort. Just as it changes from beach to road there are turtles swimming in the sea - a great sight if you are lucky enough to see them.
The theatre and temples are great to visit though go early in the day as the temperature at midday is unbearable.
Side museum is a must if you are interested in history.
Beware of the camel rides on the beach and the guide by the ruins as they will rip you off.
A visit to Manavgat market is a must if you want cheap designer copies and love to haggle!
Though be prepared to say ";NO - I am not interested"; a lot!

We could not fault the appartment, staff or resort. We have never been to such a clean place and the locals couldn't do enough for you.
We went to eat at Umut and Cheers bar most of the time - the food was fantasic. We're addicted to Apple Tea and have brought boxes of it home!
The Turkish bath at Sun City is something else - I had four other treatments while I was there - totally chilled out!
We took Lira but found that most places accepted Euro or English pounds.
We were made to feel so welcome and will definately go back.
Cheers bar is by far the best - give it a try.

Just back from a lovely week at Sun City, Side. Accommodation is to a very good standard on 3 floors so if you're not too fit you'd need to specify ground floor. Maids clean every day, and have some really nice touches with towels, sheets etc. Good size pool and kiddies pool, always plenty of sunbeds, poolside bar and food available - burgers, pizzas, chips etc. - not my cup of tea.

Must say we we're very impressed with Thomsons reps Sarah and Phil and with the Welcome meeting. We were taken by coach to the nearby town of Manavgat and cruised down the river and back while finding out lots about the area and things to do. Phil's organised walk into Side that evening was also very informative as well as enjoyable, taking about 2 hours.

Side Town is a must for anyone like me who is interested in old civilisations/architecture, as well as having plenty of beaches, restaurants etc nearby. Must do - view the sunset from turtle bay or Appollo Temple.

For food try Bahce Saray restaurant - left out of entrance, 1st left, 100yds on right. It was so good we ate there every night. Staff were great, prices unbelievably low - average price for dinner for 2 with a few drinks - £16, the only fault we found was the wine, expensive paint stripper springs to mind.

I'd recommend taking New Turkish Lira as currency. We took Euros and Sterling which are no problem, I just got the feeling that we were losing out a little on exchange.

All in all, excellent value for money
