We went to Ephesus for the day - along day but totally worth it. Also went swimming at the aqua park with dolphins. Food and beverages reasonably priced, with public transport to beaches easily accesable. Also, visit pigion island if you get a chance!

he resort is a great place to spend a week away. There is pleanty to see an do, perhaps if you spent longer than a week here you would start to get bored, but we certainly found plenty to entertain outselves with here. The bars and resteraunts are all very good, reasonably priced too. There is a good varitey of food avaliable, so it pays to shop around. The nightlife was a little quiet for our liking, with most bars closing early, but this is a minor complaint really. the beaches are beautiful, we spent a lot of our time here getting sunburnt!

Didnt spend much time in the town due to the fantasic aqua fantasy hotel. Went to the markets and got a few bargins.

busy,in your face continually pushing for sales even if you say no thanks dont be put off still great place to stay

Didnt go in much but when we did, we got what we needed very easily.

The market is a must...I think it was a Wednesday when we went...I wouls recommend a short taxi trip for the return journey...as you will be tired and a groggy for the Dolmus!

a nice resort we found everyone to be friendly and everything to be much cheaper than the uk. the near by mud baths were fab a very god day out and we also picked up some great bargains atthe market however watch out for fakes and pick pockets.

i didnt really get to see kusadasi because the hotel was a bus ride away but the city seemed really nice on the bus ride to and from the hotel when we arrived and left.

Kusadasi was ok, market was certainly different! Lots of leather goods, converse stuff , ceramic and jewellery....can be intimidating, but stick to your guns....you might even get a bargain...converse shoes for 8 pound fake but they look ok:-D Tons off cats and kittens.... Kings palace (place) good for food chicken shish Kevin with chips and salad only 3 pound...

We loved kusadasi.Ladies beach is beautiful and well worth a trip.Food and drink was very reasonable which made it very easy to eat out.

very good .it was all inclusive so very good value for money ,but extra things were far too expensive .

We have just returned after two weeks at the Surmeli Efes.

We went to Turkey 2 years ago staying near Side and had a bad experience which put me off Turkey. When booking this years holiday I had reservations about returning to Turkey but decided to try again in a different location and so glad I did.

Like most I researched hotels available to me and settled on The Surmeli Efes. I must admit I did read other reviews and didn't know what to expect.

Our flight landed at Bodrum airport and by the time we dropped other holiday makers the transfer time was 3 hours. Yes it's a long time but be re assured it's worth it.

The hotel has a grand entrance / lobby the main building can be seen from some distance away and commands a great location. The hotel had two other hotels nearby and isolated which for me was what I was looking for a hotel that provided a relaxing time away from the bustle of a town. The hotel cater for guest from Iran, Belgium, France, Italy, UK including Scotland, Romania. Guest relations are very help full and assisted with any inquiries I had.

The nearest town is Kusadasi about 15km away and guests can take a bus at 4 Turkish Lira each way. Taxi's are a little more expensive at 30 / 35 lira but if your in a family the comfort of a taxi is worth the extra.

Kusadasi is a large town and has all from shops, market (Weds only), bars, restaurants all you would expect. Tip try Selcuk about 11km in the opposite direction from the hotel. Again by bus the cost is 3 Turkish lira and has a market on Saturdays. Selcuk is a small town and is quiet the market less crowded and has things you can buy in Kasadasi.

We stayed in a family room as we had our three girls 16, 15 and 12. The family rooms are large and has a double bedroom and separate living areas with additional beds.

The rooms have air conditioning that provide relief from the baking sun. There's a fridge that's stocked on a daily basis. The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and spotless. There are minor repairs needed but the rooms have such a high turnover so you would expect some minor issues but nothing to worry about.

On site there are four a la carte restaurants (Mexican, Fish, Italian and Turkish)

Our favorite was the Mexican situated on roof of the main building book this you can view the sun set and you can see for miles. The food for me in the Mexican was of a high standard loved the desert.

The Turkish is situated near he fish restaurant tip share the sauteed beef for two excellent.

Fish restaurant was OK the only downside was that the seating was uncomfortable but I am tall. Wear something long over your legs due to mosquito bites.

Italian was good would give it more than good if they had pizza and more authentic.

Main restaurant in the main build provided food to cater for all tastes from salads to meat dishes. The food was of a high standard freshly cooked out on the veranda if you wanted. I had no stomach upset as a result of the food very good.

The waiting staff are hard working and very attentive.

Pools

There are three pools activities, adult / family and quiet

We stayed around the main pool outside the main building ( family). This is the largest pool i've seen through out my travels and felt spacious.

The pools are spotless and cleaned on a daily basis.

Animation Team

What can I say but EXCELLENT.

The team is lead by (Danny) and he knew me as Martin from Scotland. What a guy very funny and can see he loves what he does. I've stayed at many all inclusive hotels and have to say this animation team are by far the best. Kevin your mad what a brilliant lad. Louise is so nice she was present when my daughter got her GCSE results and was so nice.

There are daily activities Archery, Shooting, Volley ball, water aerobics etc.

There were different shows every night lead by Danny fantastic

In my opinion the animation team make the hotel

The beach is OK no the best I've been on but was clean.

The reception staff were friendly and attentive I never found them to be rude as other write up's mention.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking in the Kusadasi area there are plenty of activities in the area. The hotel is excellent.

Stayed August 2011, travelled with family

There was lots to do in and out of the resort such as scuba diving, jet skiing, turkish massage, mud pools, shopping, dining, playing games, dancing.

nice beach ,nice marina but we found the prices compared to marmaris are nearly double ,they charge a lot more as its a port for cruise ships .so if you want a cheap turkey holiday dont go here

a nice resort. the turkish baths and market arent to be missed. things tended to be cheap including eating and drinking out.
