Buse Apartments Reviews

very dissapointed with buse, dirty rooms, shower terrible, it wasnt even fixed on wall, no bar,no food, no filter in pool, never in pool. very unhelpfull staff when we did see some, would avoid going to Buse but not Turkey its self. Turkey has loads of things to see and do.

This was a repeat visit to Calis as we went in May and loved it.

We stayed @ Seril 2 in May and spent most of our time there on this holiday. Buse appts are very low-market - dirty rooms and a swimming pool that didn't even have the water filter turned on so you were swimming with dead wasps and anything else left in the water! everything was too much trouble for staff, including giving change for bar bills. Anything over 5 liras and she claimed she didn't have change but would ";bring to you"; - it got to the stage that after waiting 5 days for a decent amount of change (with constant reminders) she resorted to accusing us of trying to cheat her out of money! I know tips are expected and am quite happy to oblige, but do like it to be my own choice of how much and not just double the original bill! Do not judge Turkey from these appts - you will be seriously misled. No one to help carry your cases upstairs or down. No happy welcoming faces. Everything dirty and dingy. AVOID !!

We got a very cheap late deal and for the price it seems almost churlish to offer comment on the Buse Apartments. Still, you may be tempted to pay more so read on . . .

The Buse Apartments are a small complex about half a mile from the busy Calis seafront. Its location is quiet but minutes from any life you might be looking for. Built in 1996, many of the the 18 apartments are duplex style with a narrow metal spiral staircase to the bedroom - not ideal for anyone slightly unsteady on their feet (as testified by older couples staying there our week.)
The rooms are very basic, but hey, what do you need. For true self caterers, only having two electric rings, a toaster and a kettle might be a drawback.

The pool is very pleasant although its 100ft spiral water chute is a but rough on the backside. There's also a very nice pool bar BUT - and here was the real drag - a bar needs a barperson and during our week, there was hardly anyone serving at all. They had to be dragged from their siesta (at all times of day) by reception and on our first night - boy did we learn quickly - they had no beer! Most times though, folks gave up trying.
The poolside bar is fitted to serve snacks but without any staff, the grill was never turned on!
Don't despair entirely though, as we and all the other guests quickly found out, there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby who do want to serve you.

Resort-wise, Calis Beach is pleasant enough. Not as big or crazy as Marmaris but provides for most needs. Fethiye is just a short Dolmus ride (70p) or go by taxi if you're flush (£6 for five kilometers). Best though is the water dolmus, 25 minutes across the bay for £1.20 each way.
There are lots of tours to be obtained locally so you needn't pay through the nose with your travel rep. Do shop around though, some local operators charge a lot more than others. I'd reccommend Hannibal Tours, located along the seafront as being fairly priced.

I hope you can enjoy Calis Beach as much as we did. The locals are very helpful and friendly and as for the restaurants, we didn't have a poor meal all week.
