We have stayed at the Seril 2 for the last 4 years and each time we have a wonderful relaxing holiday.
the hotel is very well run and the staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.
the rooms are kept spotlessly clesn and always plenty of hot water.
The pool area is really well kept its anic el shape and has surrounding gardens where ther is a play area for smal children(swing ,slide see saw) along with a childres part of the pool.
the bar/restaurant is open all day and the meals served there are really nice and very reasonable priced if what you want isn't on the menu just ask and more often than not it will be cooked for you.
the resort it self is not for anyone who wants to go clubbing (you will find that in fethiye or hisaronu) evenings are spent eating/drinking in one of the many restaurants along the promenade(traffic free) lots of choice at good prices.
i would reccomend calis beach andthe Seril 2 to anyone. its a great place for a holiday. we are booked to go back agian this June

This hotel, is clean and basic. The rooms are good and cleaned daily. There is a pleasent if small balcony and a more than servicable shower toilet area. (You will not be spending a great deal of time in the room. Trust me.)
The Pool area and pool are superb for this level of hotel. It is a great 'L' shaped pool but is deep in all areas. Watch that for kids. There is ample seating and a small childs play area. (Really is a nice pool.)
The bar and dining area are good if a little holiday camp'esq'. But in a good way.
The food is basic but more than enjoyable. Sword Fish is not on the menu, but ask for it. It's blooming marverlous.
Breakfast consists of great big chunks of bread and feta cheese, tomato, jam and fruit and veg. Bit unusual but you soon get to enjoy it. For about 3 quid you can by the brit fry up which is not bad.
Most importantly and a bit strangely this hotel is one of the cheapest place to by beers in Chalis. So much so that people wonder out from the main resort to go there. Often Ex-pats turned up at night just for a game of pool and a beer.
You do have a short walk into Chalis but it's about 300yrds and nothing to worry about.
Chalis it's self is a bit basic, but a normal holiday resort with all the usuall trappings. Not bad not superb just holiday sort of place.
But if you want a sunshine, pool laying week up foreign supping a couple of beers in a nice quite hotel you will not go far wrong. We went though Gold Trail and paid £120 per person just out of season. One of the best and cheapest holidays I've been on!

Well I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by our holiday in Seril 2.
We had only paid £220 each for a week B and B so weren't really sure what standard of accomodation we were going to get. Having not been to Turkey before we weren't sure what the food was going to be like or what the accommodation was going to be like. In both cases, it was excellent.
A breakfast of bread, feta, tomato, cucumber, eggs, olives etc, as well as fresh melon and oranges was prepared on a buffet each morning and was very tasty indeed. If you prefer a full English breakfast or toast and cereal then this is also available although you would have to pay for these options. The prices were very reasonable and the £ goes a long way in Turkey. The bar staff/ waiters were very friendly and really couldn't do enough to help, Ebo (the head waiter) is quite fluent in English and the other waiters were also able to understand the majority of what we were asking them. We ate in the restaurant a few times and the sea bass was delicious and the jacket potatoes the biggest i've ever seen!
Accomodation wise the rooms were fairly basic but very clean, we had maid service every day so towels changed and floors mopped/ swept. Also because Turkish sewerage systems aren't as advanced as ours we had to put the toilet paper in the bin, not in the toilet. This wasn't a problem as this was also emptied daily. We stayed in Room 109 and although this wasn't a major problem if you are a light sleeper then it might be. The room is the first one next to reception and is also opposite the restaurant/ bar area so noise and music can be heard quite easily. The bar closed at 12pm so if you are out until then this wouldn't cause too much sleep deprivation! The pool area is also kept clean and has a shower so you can cool off whilst sunbathing.
Manicures, pedicures, etc can be booked through reception for a very reasonable cost.
The resort of Calis Beach itself is quite small although we always found things to keep us occupied. The beach is a long, shingle beach set up with loungers and parosols. The bars, restaurants and shops are all mostly along the promenade with plenty of choice of restaurants. We had Italian, Chinese and Indian during our stay. The food we had was of a very good quality and also very cheap (£4.60 for a 12"; pizza in Bella Mama's.) It is a bit annoying as you walk along the promenade as the people in the restaurants do try to get you to go in their restaurants but I think that is the same as any holiday resort abroad.
The excursions available were quite good too, our rep came round for the welcome meeting and we booked ourselves on a jeep safari and the 12 island cruise. They were both really good and very good value for money as lunch was provided in both cases. The jeep safari was great fun, rambling along the roads in the back of a jeep, we visited a trout farm, the gorge at Sacrikent, a carpet house where the elderly Turkish ladies made rugs, went in mud bath (very, very funny) and the beach at Protara. Our guide was very funny, if not a little insane, but definitely made it a trip to remember. One thing to watch out for though is if you have any cameras or other electrical items on you put them under your seat as at regular intervals during the drive, the Turkish children spray water at the jeeps!
The 12 island cruise was very relaxing and is good for taking lots of photos. We actually only visited 5 islands but it was an all day trip and we did stop at each one so people could dive in the water for a swim or on flat island we actually got off the boat to walk around.
The dolmus are a very easy form of transport that is also very cheap, it cost us 1 lira each (approx 40p)to get into Fethiye to look around the shops and the dolmus run about every 15 mins I think.
Calis Market is another good place to go if you want to pick up fake t-shirts, wallets etc. They do hassle you a bit but you just have to say no if you aren't interested.
All in all we had a great holiday and are planning to return to the Seril 2 next year (hopefully for 2 weeks this time!)
