This hotel is excellent,its a small family run hotel,nothing is to much trouble for kaan papa kaan or the staff,they make you feel welcome from the minute you arrive to the minute you have to leave,any problems are sorted out straight away,if they can help with anything at all they will do even if its nothing to do with the hotel ;ie medical assistance,trips or directions to elsewhere.the pool and hotel are spotless,the food is great,especially the sunday roast,We would without doubt stay there again,the dolmus stops just outside so you can get about if you want to, its great base ,a nice quite place to relax and the showers in the rooms are great the best we have ever known in turkey,constant hot water day and night

Second time to Kaan Hotel. Last time 2004. Warmly welcomed by Kaan on arrival. Kaan has built some apartments since we last visited. They are of an excellent standard and when we go back we will probably stay in the apartments. Having said that the hotel is a very good standard very clean and roomy and the showers are probably the best we have had in Turkey. The pool is lovely and ideal for anybody who cannot swim as it is not too deep. The hotel was busier than usual there was a large wedding party but the service was still of the very high standard we experienced in 2004. I have never read a bad report on this hoteland can see why. Kaan Hotel lives up to all the good reports. If you can find cheap flights it is well worth booking independantly with Kaan he will pick you up from the airport in his people carrier.

The hotel is owned and run by Papa Kaan and his wife and Baby Kaan his wife and little Mellis Baby Kaan speaks very good english and will arrange trips for you (often cheaper than the tour companies).

I can only think of one minus point. Calis does seem to suffer from biting insects this is becoming less of a problem year by year but it is best to take a good repellant. This year i took a high formulae Deet instead of the normal branded repellant and it seemed to work better.

The resort itself is very quiet not many shops and limited restaraunts (I would reccomend Bella Mamma the food there was excellent. Fethiye is only a short Dolmus or boat ride away if you require more night life or shopping.

If you visit Kaan say hello from us we have had 2 really good holidays there.

If you like small family run places then you will not be disappointed with Hotel Kaan, we were met off the coach by Kaan and his family and our bags were taken straight to our room - no messing about with checking in.

Hotel Kaan consists of approx 25 rooms, with an nice size swimming pool - no need to reserve beds as you have the pick of them after a great breakfast. The bar is basically the centre of things, if you need to book a trip, massage, car etc all are done at the bar. Kaan will even help out if you are looking for property.

The rooms all have safety boxes and air conditioning both for a small charge, however, if you book direct with them this is all included in the price. The only grumble I have was there are no kitchen facilities and I did miss having a kettle and a fridge as warm sprite in the middle of the night isn't nice.

Whilst your there at Hotel Kaan expect to have a tab for your stay as we had one within half an hour of arriving. We left at 2.30 in the morning and when we stumbled down for our coach Kaan was waiting to see us off.

Hotel Kaan is a good 25 minute walk outside of Calis but the road is flat and straight. Calis is quite small but has some nice restuarants. Its perfectly placed though as there is lots to do around it.

One big tip though for anyone who is going to Turkey is dont bother taking Turkish Lira just take sterling as you can pay for everything in pounds - or exchange it for a better rate over there.

It was our first visit to Turkey and won't be our last, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be returning to hotel Kaan - but booking directly with them as its a much better deal.

kaan hotel is wonderful, very clean and the rooms are spotless, kaan and his family are adorable, and they look after you very well, suggest you take a private boat from calis harbour (kaan will arrange it) £68.00 a bargain inc food and a fab day fishing

We arrived at the hotel to be welcomed by the owners whole family, then shown to our hotel rooms which were excellent.The hotel is situated in its own grounds. There is a bar, resturant and pool. The food is excellent and the service from steddy eddie was excellent too.You are served with plenty of food there is a very good menu to please all tastes and it was cheap.

The hotel is about a 30 min walk from the town and beach. the town is mainly made up of hotels, resturants and a few shops running along the sea front. It is a quite place with one small night club. If we wanted more of a night life Fethiye is 30p bus ride away of 50p boat ride away.They have a local market on a Sunday well worth a visit and cheap there is also a larger one in Fethiye.I would recommend calis Beach and to say in kaan Hotel and use it as a base to see more of Turkey because transport and day trips are so cheap. Just a small warnig check the goods you buy most are copies and some items can be badly made and always barter for their best price. If they say no to your price and you walk away and they dont come after you then that's their best price and buy your cigs from duty free because you will end up buying copies if you buy else where.

We have booked again to go back to the same hotel and stay for 2 weeks this time ( An excellent holiday )
